IPod nano plays really disturbed sound.

iPod nano 6th gen. Worked perfectly for a couple of weeks or so. Then, all of a sudden, this morning the sound has crashed.
Other function still works, actually it even plays the music or radio, just not the way expected.
The sound is higly disturbed, and it is hard to recognize anything. Although if the Low Bass EQ is chosen, the voice part is coming over just enough to hear that there is one. So i guess the problem is low frequences (might be middle as well).
Tried to change volume, the EQ, tried to restore settings (in all ways possible), turn it off and on again of course. Is there some hint yet to try? =)

Actually that was the first thing i tried =)
Three different ones headphones. And checked them after on PC. All of them works just fine.
It didn't get wet.Certainly.
Although it was connected to PC, so maybe data cable caused this. Then again there's no evidence of some short-circuit (on the outer sides i mean, i have no idea what's going on inside this little wonder).

From my limited knowledge the iPod Nano has no support for iCloud or wireless transfers- therefore the only means of downloading songs is by hooking it up to the computer by the white cable.

  • My new ipod nano plays videos but there is no sound, why?

My new iPod nano that plays videos has no sound going along with them. It's not a problem with the iPod, (I don't think) because the sound won't play on iTunes either, yet my music in playing just fine both on my ipod nano and in itunes. I dragged and dropped the video into itunes then I converted the video then used the convert selection for ipod. Why is there no sound? Is there something I am doing wrong? My 30gb ipod did worked just fine when I did it that way but my new ipod nano won't. Is there something else I have to do before I can watch and listen to videos?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Becca

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, iTunes & the iPod (both of which use QuickTime) only show the video and no sound.

One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

    thanks,

    Hello CinnamonLizzie,
That is not a support feature of the ipod nano 3rd gen.
You could try using a product like this:

If you are getting a crackling sound you may want to try this to fix it:

  • Ipod Nano 5thG quality of sound

I have just bought an Ipod Nano 5thG 16gb as I needed more memory. I am very disappointed that the quality of sound is so poor compared to my other Nano (4thG). The new Nano sound is very 'tinny' compared to the 4thG and I cannot seem to adjust it so that I get the rich sound I am used to. I am used to playing opera and classical music through good earbuds. The sound when used on an Ipod speaker dock, however, is good. Does anyoneelsae have this problem?

    No.

  • My ipod nano plays on ipod and headphones

My ipod nano (4th or 5th, not sure) plays music from both ipod itself and headphones when jack is plugged in. When i turn volume all the way down, the sound still plays low on headphones. I am not sure what caused this priblem. Is there a way to fix it without erasing my library?

Plug the headset all the way in until the plastic on the headset jack housing is flush with the body of the Nano.

  • 5G iPod Nano playing podcasts too fast

My iPod nano has started playing podcasts at a faster than normal rate, while the time elapsed bar at the bottom (I do not know the proper term for this) progresses in normal time. My music plays normally. What is causing this, and is there a way to fix it?

Not exactly sure, but click your ipod on the itunes sidebar and go to the first tab. Uncheck the checkbox that says "Convert higher bit rate song to _______ AAC". See if that helps. If not, on your ipod go to Main Menu > Videos and look for a settings screen.

  • IPod Nano playing Videos?

I know about iPod Linux...that's a risk I wn't take. Is it possible apple could release and iPod updater allowing the Nano to play videos? I'm getting a Nano for my birthday and i'm learing everything I can.

Apple, in my opinion, will probably release something similar to the mini, but the odds of FUTURE nanos playing video isn't bad, as many others have small video players; But I don't think iPod updater will ever let the current gen nano play videos.

  • IPod Nano Playing wrong playlists

I have IPod Nano 5th Generation. I have many different playlists. Today I was jogging, and set it to play songs from one of the playlists, and to play shuffle (random) from that playlist.
It kept playing songs from a few of my other playlists, but not songs from the playlist it was supposed to. I checked later on to make sure, and the songs it played were not on the playlist the IPod was set to play. It was playing songs from a few other playlists.
This has never happened before. Any suggestions?

I think Apple put the "toggle Hold switch" step in there just to make the user look at the Hold switch, to make sure it is NOT "on hold."  I mean, someone may think their iPod is not working, because the controls don't work, when the actual problem was that they had the iPod "on hold" by mistake.  So, they put that step in there to make the user check.  The Reset procedure works whether you do that toggle hold switch step or not.
Hold is ON when you can see the orange color "under" the switch.  Orange = Hold
"Erase the iPod" means everything is erased, including your songs on the iPod.  My advice is to transfer songs that are not in your iTunes library off the iPod and put them into your iTunes library.  You never know when your iPod may get lost, stolen, or (seriously) broken.
You can't transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should see some links.

  • Can 6th gen Ipod Nano play video on Precor Treadmill?

Many gyms offer Apple connectors on their machines like treadmills and elipticals.  I've connected my IPad and watched video, but it's impractical on a treadmill, both due to size and too much vibration.
So, I'm considering the purchase of an Ipod Nano. I know that the 6th gen device lacks video support, but can you load video files onto the device via ITunes and then play the videos on the machines at the gym?
Our gym has two main models of treadmills:
    Precor 885, and
Matrix 7XE, which also has Nike+ support for Ipods.
Please let me know which Ipod Nano is best for my needs.

The 5th Generation can do video, or the iPod Touch or iPod Classic. The 6th Generation Nano won't work for your needs.

  • Ipod nano plays with headphones but not when plugged in to player

I have a nano 16gb 4th or 5th generation.  It has worked fine up until about a week ago.  It works if I plug in the headphones, but not when it is plugged into the car stereo or an iHome.  Any thoughts?

    If:
-you and your husband have the same generation iPod nano
-they both have the same latest software
-you tried the car stereo with the same iPod charging cord.
(with 32 pins connector I just wanted to make sure it is not the headphone plug)
this means that the problem is indeed with your iPod nano.
Since you also said that before last week everything worked fine, something must've gone wrong after that.
This could be software-related or hardware-related. Did you try to connect it to your computer? Does the computer recognise it? Can you still charge it?
If the computer does recognise the iPod it might be a good idea to 'repair' your iPod via iTunes.
Or try the Five R's: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano5gen/# (more or less the same for 4th and 5th gen)
If your computer does not recognise it, it probably needs to be repaired. But since it is 4th or 5th generation I guess the warranty is void already, and you'll have to decide how much this is worth to you or if you wouldn't want to buy a new one.
