Ipod Nano previously on Windows, want to use on a Mac now
Is it possible to use a previously used Nano from a Windows PC to my new Macbook?
Strictly speaking using a Windows formatted iPod on a Mac isn't supported however many people use one without any issue. iTunes will allow you to use an iPod formatted for Windows on a Mac; however, Apple currently only supports using the iPod shuffle in FAT32 format on Mac. Also if you keep it Windows formatted you won't be able to update the software on the Mac, you'll need to connect it back to a PC when a new version is released. If you have all your songs on your new computer you can restore the iPod on the Mac this will erase and reformat the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings with iTunes 7

Is it not charging at all? Did you try to reset? If YES to both, request for a replacement of the ipod. Battery or the unit itself is defective. Cheers!

I just got a ipod nano 6th gen, and ive been using it for 2 days, and it seems that the battery just lasts about half a day, on playing 1 to 3 songs in intervals of 1-2 hours. Whats wrong with my ipod?
Your nano would really have nothing to do with it at that point. It is really something between iTunes and whatever server out there on the internet that it is trying to connect to for the update.
Try posting this one in the iTunes forum, they might have a solution for you.

this is the questions tha runs my mind bcoz I just bought it about 2 weeks ago and just this recently I noticed that it automatically switches off after 2 minutes if remained untouched even if i did not set the sleep mode. Well, it normally functions coz during playing a song it does not sleeps but by the time pausing the song and after two minutes the nano switches off, but if you press any key it goes back again and you can play the paused song again. is this thing normal? i am really bothered by this. please help me THANKS A LOTI recently bought a 2nd Generation 8Gb iPod Nano and can state for a fact that if you pause a song for exactly two minutes the device will turn off, probably to save batttery power. I tested it three times already and clocked it.
However, I also noticed that my iPod also seems to turn off by itself (even when sleep / timer is not selected) when I'm shuffling through songs using the forward/next and/or rewind/back buttons repeatedly.
Is this normal, or just a bad coincidence?
I've tried the 5 Rs but the problem persists. It really annoys me because I have the habit of skipping lots of songs. -

G4 Macs have no built video/webcams or microphones.
The best solutions are USB devices.
First, you need to determine the version of Skype that you can use. The newest Skype version 5 can only run on Macs with a min. OS X version of OS 10.5.8 Leopard.

There are not a lot of webcams or microphones that work with both Macs and Skype.
Here is the only webcam, from Logitech, that I was using on my previous G4 that was both PC and Mac compatible, but the requirements say you need 1.0 Ghz CPU and OS X 10.5.8 Leopard.

Logitech also has a few Mac compatible USB headset audio/microphones, but don't mention Skype compatibilty.
You would need to buy and try to test.

I want to use Outlook for Mac 2011 for my calendar, email, and contacts on my Macbook Air, iPhone 6, and iPad Air. Is this possible to sync with all these devices with this program? I am more organized with Outlook than using the different Apple programs. It has more options.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.If you have outlook on all 3 devices, should be okay. However, I am suggesting you to probably try the Apple's and get used to it as you are using all notebook, phoneme and tab with Apple. Might save you some money with that.

I have a new Mac Pro. I want to use my old Mac Pro as a storage drive for photos and old documents, linked to my new Mac Pro. How do I set up the old computer? Both computers have OS X10.9.3. Currently they are connected by a Firewire 800 cable.
You certainly could keep the old Mac Pro in Firewire mode (hold down the T key on its keyboard as you boot) to show its drives on the new MP. This is basically as fast as putting the drives into a Firewire enclosure.
Or you could boot it normally and share its files over the network using the Sharing panel of System Preferences. If you turn on both File and Screen Sharing, you don't even need to have a monitor attached - you can do all administration using screen sharing. However, this method requires that you open all files over the network, which will be slower than the direct-connect method above, and may also not work with all applications.

I have an early 2011 macbook air on 10.7.5 I want to use find my mac but it says i need a recovery partition. If i buy 10.85 will it come with a recovery partition and will i be able to use find my mac
If you are using 10.7, you should have a recovery partition, now. Installing 10.8 will install or update the recovery partition if it can. If you have a drive partitioning scheme setup that prevents the recovery partition from being added, then I don't think 10.8 will change that.
