Ipod nano restart without warning

please help... why does my new ipod nano (2nd generation) restart without warning? what can i do to rectify this problem?

I Bought my very first iPod on Monday, its a new shape Black 8Gb Nano.
I've got 1800 songs on it using about 7gig
100 pictures
3 podcasts
2 music vids
129 contacts (about 20 with pictures)
All my cover art is working(used itunes without iPod for years ^^)
It syncs flawlessly every time and has never 'reset' by itself.
I hope mine isn't a fluke.
Best of luck getting a good one.

The warranty for ipod nano in india is here:

Im not really sure but some resellers have their own warranty.
If the iPod is brand new, it should have the apple one year limited warranty

  • IPod Nano Restarts PC

My iPod Nano restarts my PC. Everytime I try to change the settings on my iPod through iTunes, it restarts. Could it be because I don't have USB 2?

So,it happens with both ipods so this is probably an OS issue.Still don't know what, but that's life.

  • IPod Nano restarting continually

My iPod Nano has been working OK up through yesterday evening. I went for a run and then got home and connected my Nano to my PC and let it sync (which worked OK).
During the sync, the Nike+ web site was offline, so I got some error messages from iTunes about it not being able to connect (which I ignored other than being bummed I couldn't get my data up to the web site and which may or may not be related to this problem).
This morning, I found that my Nano restarts (resets) itself every minute or two - I'll turn on a song and it'll play for a bit and then it will reset (Apple logo comes up, it resets and returns to the main menu).
Even if I am not doing anything at all with it (just let it sit there on my desk looking sad and lonely ), it will restart every minute or two.
Anyone know what might cause this?
I haven't been able to reconnect to my PC since this started happening but plan to when I return home from work. I'm hoping I can get my last few runs to the Nike+ website and then do a reinstall or something to the Nano. Not sure if that'll work.
Any other suggestions or pointers? I tried searching here for a similar problem but found none.
    Thanks!

Hello my ipod has just started going to the apple screen and the going white every 7 seconds or so...I have tryd to reset it the hold switch thing and all of it..I can't get it to conect to the computer..Will some one please help....

  • IPod nano delivered without new features

I ordered an iPod nano right after Phil Schiller walked up on stage and released an update to the 6th generation models. The new features convinced me to buy it, especially the wide range of clock faces available with the new model.
I got the iPod in the mail. But it was the old version, and it didn't have the different clockfaces, only black and white.
So I phoned apple, and they said I should send it back and order it again.
So I ordered it again. I just got the new one today, and it was THE OLD ONE again. I was pretty mad. I phoned apple again, this time they transferred me to tech support. The guy there said I DID have the right one and all I need to do is enable the clockfaces in settings. So he sent me a manual explaining how to do that.
But when the manual says there should be a big list of clockfaces, there is just black and white.
Another difference is that the icons are four small ones on each screen, and the new one is supposed to have just one large icon.
So now I'm stuck with this iPod. If I send it back and order yet another one online, I'm sure I'll just get this one again.
I live 5 hours away from an apple store.
    WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Thank you! Wow this makes me un-frustrated.
I just wish apple would have told me this so I didnt have to send my first one back.
    Whew!

  • Ipod Nano syncing without a computer?!

    No.

  • How do I copy Playlists to my iPod nano 3G without duplicating the songs?

I've created a few playlists in iTunes. These are "best of" Playlists - for example 6 tracks that I really like from an album of 10 tracks.
Now the entire album, in each case, is already on the iPod. When I drag the Playlist to the iPod though, it copies the 6 tracks to the iPod, even though the tracks are already on the iPod. This causes needless capacity-wasting duplication. What I want is to copy the information in the Playlist, *not the songs themselves*, so that on the iPod I can select the Playlist & listen to it, with the iPod playing the 6 tracks out of the 10 that are already stored, not playing 6 duplicate tracks that don't need to be there in the first place. Is there any way to achieve this?
This is a similar problem to the one I encountered with album artwork (see my earlier topic here: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7921664) - needless capacity-wasting duplication - which isn't entirely solvable due to bad design of the iPod software. I suspect the Playlist problem might be similar unfortunately.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Wouldn't it work if you just create the new playlist in iTunes, then find the songs you want from there orginal location, right click on them and select add to playlist? If you want to select multiple songs, just hold down the 'alt' or 'ctrl' button down while selecting, and then sync your Ipod after you're done creating the new playlist.
    I hope this helped.
Edit: Oh just a note- I'm not sure if the 'alt' or 'ctrl' trick works with Macs

  • Ipod nano, blank without charger

if i turn it off for 10 minutes, it won't turn back on, even with a fully charged battery. i figured getting the extended warrenty will fix my problems?
windows   Windows XP   piece of crap

Why buy the extended warranty when your ipod is still within the standard 12 month one?
You can arrange online service here.
    Service request.
Or if an Apple store is near you, take it there and have them check your iPod.

  • AppleTV restart always without warning since iTunes 9

    Hi.
My Apple TV worked very fine since I updated to iTunes 9 and to Snow Leopard. I don't know which one could be the cause. My apple TV always restart without warning each 2 minutes when it's on the main menu doing nothing or when playing something like music. Sometimes it restart with and sometimes without asking the language to use. So it,s impossible to use it properly now.
I ran the diagnostics and it told me that everything was working fine. But it's not !!! The only thing I didn't done is to restore the factory defaults.
Does somebody has encountered this problem before ? Can somebody help ?
    Thanks
    Emmanuel

There is nothing about iTunes 9 that would cause your ATV to restart at random. The timing is probably just a coincidence.
Try unplugging it, then plug it back in to do a hard reset. If that doesn't solve the problem, you could try a factory restore. If the factory restore doesn't fix it, you may have hardware failure, in which case you would need to take it to an Apple store or call AppleCare.

  • TS3212 how do i unlock my screen on my ipod nano without using itunes

how do i unlock my ipod nano screen without using itunes?

Sorry, but you can't. If you've forgotten the code, connecting the iPod to the computer from which you sync it or restoring the iPod are the only solutions.
    Regards.

  • Can't get music onto ipod nano.

Not very good with computers so any help is appreciated. Have one ipod nano connected without any problems. Have just purchased a new one for my other daughter and all the green ticks show when the cd is imported but unable to get it onto the ipod. Any ideas?

do you get any kind of message? Did you burn or buy the CD?

  • IPod nano... With FM Transmitter?????

Do you know if there already is a FM Transmitter for the iPod nano? I want to buy iPod nano but without that I won't! Thanks for your help

Any FM transmitter that connects to a device through the headphone jack will work with any devise that has a headphone jack.
Beware, FM transmitters are not the best option for sound quality. Lots of car stereo head units have an AUX-in on the front and if you get a cable that is a male mini-DIN on both ends, you will have much better sound than from an FM transmitter.

  • My Macbook Pro won't shut down or restart without forcing shut down. Hangs on grey screen. iTunes not recognizing iPod.

    HELP!!!
Here are the specs of my machine:
    2011 13.3" MacBook Pro
    4 GB Ram/320 GB HD
For the past several months my MacBook Pro refuses to shut down or restart without holding down the power button. Whenever I choose to restart or shut down the computer, it will hang on a grey screen. I have even tried letting it hang for an hour, and it still won't shut down. I notice that once in a while it will retart or shut down correctly if I had not used opened iTunes since turning it on. However, even manually closing iTunes before shutting down or restarting does not solve the problem. It seems as though it only shuts down if iTunes was not used since restarting the computer. Is this a registry error? Do I need to reinstall iTunes? I noticed this problem began happening after I uninstalled Kaspersky Virus Scanner, could that be the problem as well? Also, I cannot guarantee that the problem is only associated with iTunes. I just noticed that one of the few times it shut down or restarted correctly, iTunes coincidentally had not been used. Also, this problem started happening while I was still using Lion and has continued despite upgrading to Mountain Lion.
Also, whenever I update my iPod through iTunes, it won't eject properly, and a transparent icon of the iPod displays on the screen even after I have removed it from the USB port. Furthermore, the iPod will only be recognized by iTunes and will only be updated the first time I plug it in. After removing it and plugging it back in, it won't recognize or update the device unless I shut down and restart the computer. I have the latest addition of iTunes.
