IPod nano second gen. works with iTunes 7.5, but not with iTunes 7.7

I recently got a new computer and downloaded iTunes 7.7. My iPod would charge for two seconds then disconnect. I tried using the other computer at my home which uses iTunes 7.5 and it works perfectly. It seems like alot of people are having the same problem. Do you think Apple will fix the new version of iTunes?
I have tried doing this : http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304434
and it worked, but the next day my iPod wouldn't charge or connect. I tried doing the same as I had did yesterday to get it working, but it doesn't work.
I have also tried plugging iPod into all my USB ports, but still no luck.
Anytime I restart my computer and open up Services, Terminal Services is always shown as stopped. Could this be the problem?
One last question: Could a firewall on my computer possibly be the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Open the file using QuickTime Player 7.6 and then open the Movie Inspector window.
It will tell you what codecs are used or show the video track "type". My guess is that your file contains a Flash video track which will not play in QuickTime higher than 7.3.

If the Belkin supports the A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) profile then it will work.

  • Does the Ipod nano 5th gen. work with the built in microphone on Skullcandy  headphones?

I want to buy a pair of Skullcandys with a microphone in them, but it wouldnt make sense to pay the extra money for a microphone if my iPod wont work with it. Has anyone ever tried it or know if the headphones would be compatible with the iPod

I would check with Skullcandy's support site. They should be able to provide the most accurate answer.

  • HT3965 How do you change the name of an ipod nano (6th gen.) in iTunes 11?

How do you change the name of an ipod nano (6th gen.) in iTunes 11? Note there was an explanation for iTunes 10, but the software does not work the same way in iTunes 11.

Click the shaded box on the top left on itunes 11. Then click show menu bar. From there click the one that says view on the menu bar. Then click show sidebar. Then click on the devices name when connected. Click change device named.

Yes, your battery is likely toast and in need of replacement.  Not much else for troubleshooting here.  Sorry.

  • Will ipod touch 4 gen work with windows vista service pack 1?

Will ipod touch 4 gen work with vista service pack 1?

    All Apple says is:
PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    Does it work/sync with SP1?
Why not update to latest Vista?

  • Why can I not sync my iPod Nano 3rd Gen to my iTunes 9.1.1?

My daughter mistakenly downloaded the latest iTunes version which does not work with my older iPod Nano 3rd gen.  Before all this happened I was running version 9.1.1 which was working beautifully.  After uninstalling the updated version and reinstalling the 9.1.1 version, I cannot restore nor sync my music to the iPod Nano.  I would just be happy having things the way they were previously.  Any tips???  Thanks.

Go to the Apple icon in the upper left corner and select 'About this Mac' - it will show you which version of OSX you are using.

  • I need to get the music off my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN onto either ITunes or in a music foldes on my new computer. Not all the music was purchased from Apple Itunes HOW DO I DO THIS WITHOUT LOOSING ALL MY MUSIC??

I have not had a computer for several years and I just got a new one. My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. Thank goodness I had it all on my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN. Now my problem is that I don't know how to get the music off my Ipod Nano onto my new computer!!! I was able to get the songs that I purchased thru ITunes by just authorizing my new computer. But I have alot more music that is on my Ipod nano that I can't put into my ITunes library. In fact, I can't even get my music into a file folder on my computer!! I really need help. I don't have any copies of the music anywhere else and some of it is hard to get. How do I get my music either into ITunes or into a file folder on my new computer or even if I could get my computer to recognize my Ipod and sync all the music into windows media or something like that. Every time I connect my IPod all that happens is that it tells me if I sync the IPod that it will replace all the music from my ITunes library on to my IPod. And I am guessing that means all my music on the IPod will be erased. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thanks from the bottom of my songsters heart

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • Will my iPod Nano (5th generation) work with iTunes 11.1.3 (8)?

I have not synced it for a while and I do not want to loose what I have. Does anyone have experience with this? I have not heard good things about version 11. I just have music, no videos and maybe an audio book or two, and my iPod is 8 GB. I am running OSX 10.6.8 and do not particularly want to upgrade.
    Thanks--

  • 1st Gen iPod Nano won't work with new Nissan interface.

I just bought an 09 Nissan Cube that has the factory ipod interface where you can control everything through the steering wheel and radio, well my ipod has been great, yes old, but works great and always has in other cars such as the Scion xB I just traded in on it, using the same type of system.
Well, when I plug it into my new Cube, it charges fine, but just keeps saying "Ok to Disconnect" and goes back and forth to that and the 1st menu screen all the time.
I did a reset where you hold the middle button and the menu button for 6 seconds, but that did not fix it. I'm at a loss.
I know the interface works because we tried another newer ipod and my iphone works as well.
Any ideas? I don't want to spend the cash to buy another ipod.

Ah, i seemed to have fixed it! Well i've been trying for a few weeks now to sort this out and as soon as i put up a post it works. Oh well at least its working now. It seems like that the iPod needs to be playing BEFORE the iTrip is plugged in the turn it on.
    I'll get me coat...

  • Should an iPod Nano 2nd Generation Work With Windows Vista?

I understand that many people are having problems with their iPods and come here for support and solutions.
I'm just wondering if the iPod Nano 2nd generation 4g I have that is working just fine SHOULD work with latest iTunes on Windows Vista laptop (which I haven't used yet)?

Just to close this out I was able to connect the second generation 4g iPod Nano without issue. In a matter of minutes I had it loaded, recognized by iTunes with up-to-date software, sync with over 900 songs and almost 200 pictures and then ejected (I manually manage music)! Really sorry for those who can't get iTunes and/or iPod to work!

  • I have an iPod nano (4th gen), loaded with music from my own CD collection.  I loaded the music from a laptop I no longer have.  Is there any way to delete some of the music using a different laptop?  Thanks!

Can you help me with deleting music from my iPod nano?  The music was from my own CDs and I no longer have the laptop I used.

iTunes and Apple's devices work as an ecosystem. iTunes is designed to sync with Apple's products, not anyone else's. You'll need your songs in a format compatable with the Samsung phone and to use the software transfer program supplied/recommended. It is essentially not an Apple/iTunes problem. You may have better luck finding the information you need on Samsung's forums.

  • Will iPod touch 2nd gen work on iTunes 11

I have a iPod touch 2nd gen and cannot get new songs off my iTunes 11. Does this mean I no longer can add songs to this device? Thanks for any advise in advance.

iTunes 11 works fine for all model iPod.
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device and follow the instructions.
