Ipod nano shows in my computer but not ITunes
I have a windows xp and I have some Ipod 4s that i want to reset them and sell them. Whenever I connect either of the 3 of them, they all go on a dim screen that says 'do not dissconnect' and I can't do anything on them. If i go to my computer and eject them then I can go through the ipod but it still won't show up in ITunes. It will charge fine, that is no problem, I just can't get it to show up on itunes... Help please!
Hello, friend. You may try these steps.
1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

IPod nano recognized in MY Computer but not in iTunes
My iPod nano is recognized under My Computer but not in iTunes.
I formaatted the iPod nano as FAT32 using the format option when right-clicking on the drive in My Computer.
I installed the latest version of iTunes software. I adopted the five R's approach to resolve my issue. I have wanted to restore the iPod but this option is not available in iTunes, since the iPod is not recognised by the software.
The iPod diagnostics option in iTunes indicates the following:

I would be concerned too if my iPod was not recognized by iTunes. If Windows recognizes your iPod but iTunes does not, follow the steps in this article:

Nano shows in "My computer" but not in Itunes
I've done everything I can find on the website, but still can't get Itunes to see the ipod. The computer can see it and it charges, but I can't do the last step in the "5 R's" on the site since I can't restore factory settings without I-tunes seeing the device.
1) is there a way to restore factory settings manaully (without i-tunes)?
2) A "Bootex" file has appeared on my ipod (when I look at it in my computer). The bootex files states that "volume is dirty" and that it has "recovered" 4 files. Is this the cause of my issue? How do I fix it?Are you running some sort of antivirus/antispyware software that is scanning the iPod and leaving this "Bootex" file? If you are, set your preferences not to scan iPods (if you have enabled disk use on your Nano you will have to set it not to scan removable drives), right click on your Nano in My Computer or Device Management, select disk management, and format your Nano (FAT32, not a quick format) and while you are in the disk management area, give your Nano a much higher drive letter like M or P or Z.
After this Restore it in iTunes. -
IPod touch showing up under Computer but not in iTunes
I've tried everything. There is no ATH.exe in my processes tab, I have tried the msconfig steps which only messes up my computer...
I have turned on and off my ipod, switched out usb ports (Windows 7 HP laptop), I've removed ipod, itunes help and all those from my processes, rebooted my computer, uninstalled itunes, searched for updated usb ports... all of my usb ports say 3.0. I have no idea how to get them to 2.0 but I would think a 3.0 would be fine.
I have no idea what else to do. This problem has persisted and I am at the end of my rope. Please help!Have yu tried:

IPod Touch 1st Gen is showing up in Computer but not in iTunes
I recently updated to iTunes 10.3 I didn't try to sync my iPod immediatly though so I didn't notice this problem until just now. I went into iTunes to sync my ipod and the ipod would show up in Computer or in iTunes, I uninstalled it and downgraded to iTunes 10.2, then my iPod would show up in Computer but still not in iTunes and in Computer it said it was and "Apple iPod" instead of "<My Name Here>'s iPod Touch". Just now I updated to iTunes 10.4 and it iis still showing up in Computer as "Apple iPod" but it isn't showing up in iTunes.
I don't know if this will effect anything but I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.Would someone please at least give me some advice like microwave my laptop or something?
