IPod Nano Song Playing

Hi,
I got a new iPod nano for xmas, and have noticed that certain songs will not play all the way through, and after some songs have finished, the iPod completely resets itself... Anyone know if Apple will be looking into a fix for either of these???
Thanks
Simon

I'm having the same problem. Did you get it fix?

Make sure your headphones are plugged ALL the way in, meaning the white part of the headphones is flush with the Nano and you cannot see any silver from the plug still showing.

  • Can I synk my ipod nanos songs to my ipod 5

Can I synk my iPod nano songs to my ipod

    Hello there, bmarkinson9.
To begin you will need to sync your content from the iPod nano to your computer. The following Knowledge Base article lays out those steps:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
Once it's in your iTunes Library, you can then sync it to your other iPod:

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

  • I want to buy the new iPod Nano to play audiobooks. Does it remember the postion where switch-off took place and resume from there? Can one rewind and replay freely?

    1. Many thanks! I look forward to your revert on being able to freely rewind and replay with the 7th Gen iPod Nano.
    2. Re resuming from the position where one left off - I meant after switch-off and not merely pause. Often, with audiobooks, I have to stop for the day, and resume maybe after 1-2 days. I'll be grateful if you can check this too
    3. The above features make the iPod Classic a joy to use, but I have reservations about using it on walks because of its HDD.
    4. Greatly appreciate the trouble you are taking. Best regards.

Try this Resetting iPod if it appears frozen or doesn't respond
If that doesn't work then there is this Restoring iPod to factory settings
Failing that you may want to work your way through the iTunes 101: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/

  • IPod Nano - Shuffle plays same songs over and over

I have several playlists on my iPod Nano with varying numbers of songs.  But it seems that every time I use my iPod, no matter which playlist I'm using, I get some songs over and over.  I'll hear the same couple songs multiple times in a day/week.   I turn it off when we aren't using it.  So it seems like it's resetting the shuffle every time I turn it on.  Is there some setting I need to change to make it shuffle the songs more?  I don't remember having this problem with my iPod Shuffle.   I'm considering making multiple playlists (like a several workout ones with different songs in each so I get more variety) but wondering if there's a simpler fix
    Thanks

That is probably the Repeat setting.  It can be set to repeat ONE (repeats current song), ALL (repeats current list), or OFF (does not repeat).
Which iPod nano model do you have?  Does it have a touch screen interface, or the (older) click wheel interface?

  • Ipod nano-song jumps prematurely

In my ipod nano the song jumps to next in few seconds mostly.
People suggest it is due to defective CD from which the song was downloaded on to itunes in PC
Is it possible to dwload itunes from PC to a CD or DVD,erase itunes prtly or fully from the pc-RELOAD FROM THE DOWNLOADED CD/DVD on to PC and sync the ipod again to correct the jumping

yeah, you could re-rip the song. Does it play ok on iTunes, just not on your Nano?
Also, check the options on the song.
    - click on it in iTunes
    - File -> Get Info
    - Select the Options tab
    - See if the "Start Time" and "Stop Time" are unticked. If they are ticked then the song may not be playing for its full duration

  • Ipod nano 7g plays on the dock adapter but there is no sound

Hi, posting on behalf of a parent.  Recently bought the ipod nano 7g and bought the lightning 30 pin adaper.  When plugged into the stereo the ipod plays as the song timer advances but there is no sound coming through.  Any suggestions what to try.  I did advise buying a new adapter in case it is faulty.

Check with the manufacturer of the stereo to see if their device is compatible with the adaptor.

  • IPod Nano and Play Count in iTunes

I don't usually pay much attention to play counts on my sixth generation iPod Nano.  But the other day I was reviewing the Top 25 Playlist and noticed it was full of songs that I don't play that much or that I tend to skip when they come up on shuffle.  Looking at my iTunes library on my windows PC I noticed that songs that should have high play counts are listed as never being played.  In addition, songs that I know for a fact I had played earlier in the day had last played dates that were several months old.  Upon searching through the forums, I found may posts about playcounts not tracking properly.  But none of them matched the exact problem I seem to be having.
Following from recommendations in the various threads regarding problematic playcounts, I reset my iPod to factory settings, recreated the library in iTunes, resynced the iPod and iTunes libraries, turned off cross-fade on the iPod and made sure that ITunes was set to automatically sync.  Doing so reset the playcounts to 0 for my entire library in both iTunes and on my iPod.  I then played eight songs on the iPod.  Two of the songs I skipped part way through.  When I plugged my iPod in to my PC, the iTunes notification came up saying my iPod was being synced with my iTunes library.  I was estatic to see that the playcount in iTunes totaled six like it should.  That feeling disappeared quickly when I noticed that not a single song listed as being one of the six played songs was a song that had actually been played.  In addition, two of the six supposedly played songs were songs that are in my iTunes library but not uploaded to the iPod.  I repeated the exercise with exactly the same results...play counts were correct but the songs identified as being played didn't match what was actually played.
    What am I missing?
    Cheers,

I have just noticed that the play count has been updated after I restarted my PC but only for the song I've listened after last connection so all my song count for the last week I've spent without connecting the iPod has been lost. Is it normal that you need to restart your PC before connecting iPod if you want your play count to be updated? I normally leave my PC without restarting for weeks..

  • Applying custom EQ setting to iPod Nano songs

    Hello,
When I connect my iPod to my computer it shows up in iTunes. I can then browse the music stored on it like I can my main library. I select all songs and right click to bring up the "Get Info" settings. Here I can apply settings to all songs in one shot.
There is a section called "Equalizer Preset". In here I have a few presets that I have created and saved. I thought maybe if I selected one of my presets it might transfer that preset over to the iPod and be available in its EQ settings area. While I found this not to be true (custom EQ setting did not transfer), when I unplugged my Nano and played some songs they sounded different... better. On to the question ...
Doing what I did above, will iTunes apply the EQ preset directly into the Nano's songs? IE ... modify the songs audible frequencies so that the preset is sort of "built in"?
I think something must have happened because normally I have the iPod's EQ off and after this procedure the songs sounded closer to what iTunes plays on my computer with the EQ on. Also when I applied the settings, it took iTunes about 5 minutes to complete the procedure on all songs (30 songs), clearly iTunes was busy doing something.
P.S. I also applied gapless playback to all songs but didn't notice any difference in the way they play. What exactly is gapless playback supposed to do? I thought it might be like the crossfade option of iTunes.
    Overspeed

As to the eq, the iPod will playback songs with the eq setting assigned to them in iTunes as long as you have the eq on the iPod set to "flat".
