  • My ipod was stolen can they restore my ipod without apple id and password

my ipod touch was stolen and i have find my ipod ive reported it stolen with the serial number is there anyway that they can register it or restore it without my apple id and password?

As long as the iPod as signed in to iCloud and FindMyiPod was turned on then to use the iPod someone has to enter the iCloud ID and password.
If there was no screen-lock passcode then someone could continue to use th iPod but could not restore it or signout of iCloud

  • Help! ipod nano stolen, can i recover my serial number?

My car was vandalized and the police are inquiring about the serial number of my nano. is there a way i can retrieve this off of itunes?
    thanks for your help
    chris

I think in small thefts such as yours, the police take your information and just file it away. On the small chance they bust someone with a bunch of electronic items, they might use your serial number to prove the theft in court.
However, the chance of you getting your ipod back are better than winning the Lotto, but not by much.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. My rule is to NEVER leave any electronic gear in a parked car if I can help it.

  • HT201269 Hi. I have shared an Apple ID with my children for some time.  As they are getting older they do not wnat me seeing all their messages, photos etc so want their own accounts.  How can they access their purchased music and apps on the new account

Hi. I have shared an Apple ID with my children for some time.  As they are getting older they do not wnat me seeing all their messages, photos etc so want their own accounts.  How can they access their purchased music and apps on the new account please?

    Yes.
On their iOS devices, under Settings>iTunes & App Store, they should use your Apple ID. When they log into iCloud, iMessage and Facetime, they should use their personal Apple IDs.

  • If an iPod is stolen, can you track it when they try to connect the iPod to another computer?

If an iPod is stolen, can you track it when they try to connect the iPod to another computer?

No.  You can only track it if you had setup the FindMyiPhone feature and some other constraints.

You're gonna have to figure out a way to call AppleCare...there is no AppleCare where you live...somewhere, & ask to talk to "Account Security". Here's a list of worldwide support numbers:

  • Do you need a converter to charge Ipod nano (5th gen) using a non-Apple wall charger/plug adapter in Switzerland?

do you need a converter to charge Ipod Nano (5th gen) using a non-Apple wall charger/adapter plug in Switzerland? or is the Ipod Nano dual-voltage?

None of the iDevices are multi-voltage themselves...the chargers from Apple are all 110-240 volt.  You will have to look at the non-Apple charger you have and see if it says it handles 110-240 volts.  Most made today are capable of that range, or they would have to make a different item for each country.
All you probably need is a plug-pin converter, can find those in the airport, at least in Zurich, don't know about Geneva.

  • I rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with playlist. I also have Windows 8. I need help!

I have rec'd an iPod Nano and can't get it to sync with my existing playlist. I am using a Windows 8 Dell laptop. Any suggestions?

One iCloud account has one user name (a .mac or .me email name) and password.  If you have set up multiple accounts in the past then you must choose one and stay with it.  If you don't know the user name, then you have a problem.  If you haven't really begun using iCloud (but you mention trying to get mail, so I'm assuming you have used iCloud before), then use a .mac or .me account you know you have or just sign up for a new account - and be sure to write down the name and password for future use.
If you want to use the account to sync your contacts, email, calendars, etc, then each of your ios devices need to use the same account, otherwise they will be independent of one another.

You can sync your iPod with multiple computers, but what can be synced is very limited.  See this article for more details.

  • I accidentally press Off  the Backlight in my 3rd generation  iPod Nano, how can I turn On the Backlight again?

I accidentally press Off the Backlight in my 3red generation iPod Nano, how can I turn it On again? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

What do you mean you turned off the backlight?  How did you do that?
Have you tried a hard reset to see if that takes care of it?  To this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • I had the "find my iphone" app and deleted it and then my ipod was stolen. can my ipod still be located ?

i had the "find my iphone" app and deleted it and then my ipod was stolen. can my ipod still be located ?

Apple will not track it for you unless with Find my iPod. Again, whether you have the app or not doesn't matter, I believe you still had the service enabled. It doesn't hurt to try. http://icloud.com, click Find my iPhone after you sign in.

  • I can't access my apple ID or app store or iTunes on my iPad

I can't access my apple ID, app store or iTunes on my iPad, can anyone help me please

Thanks IIIaass, I appreciate your interest.  Yes, I am trying to do what you say, but after a while, a message comes "Can not connect to I Tunes Store".  One additional piece of information... this is only happening at home, not at work for instance. It started with mi daughters I Pad 1 (which was mine originally), maybe one week ago. Then, it started happening yesterday in my IPad 2 also when trying to update some apps.
I checked all the settings, they look "normal" and both Ipads were working perfectly before.  Only change I did recently was to set up the ICloud application in my computer, and now I'm not sure if this is related. .
At last, I've been trying to play music in my IPad from my computer's library by using "home sharing".  It always have worked perfeclty but now, it is not connecting!.  We can read and send e-mails, navigate internet and run all apps in our Ipads, but we can't purchase music or apps, nor can update anything from home.  This is weird,I will appreciate any idea to solve
    Thanks again,

  • I lost my iPod Nano. Can I retrieve all of the songs in my itunes library, or just the ones I purchased from the store?

I lost my iPod Nano. Can I retrieve all of the songs in my iTunes library, or just the ones I bought through the iTunes store?

The "bar" at the bottom does not say anything about all of your songs being on the iPod.  It just shows you how much of its storage capacity is being used, based on what is on the iPod.
If you see "On This iPod," that means the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible.  This is easier to describe with the sidebar visible, so from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Select the iPod in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  There is a bar of buttons near the top, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This is the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  You can choose to sync Entire music library, if (?) your iTunes music library fits on the iPod.  With this setting, your entire iTunes music library syncs to the iPod, and new songs get synced automatically.  A 7th gen iPod nano is 16GB, so your iTunes music library would have to be less than 16GB (not counting non-music content on the iPod).  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) the playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres you want on the iPod from the lists below.  If you want newly added songs to sync to the iPod, they must be part of your selection.  For example, you can add them to a playlist that you have selected for syncing to the iPod.
When you click Apply, the songs from your selection sync to the iPod.  Going forward, changes to your iTunes library (based on your settings on the iPod's Music screen) sync automatically to the iPod, the next time it is connected (or when you click Sync).
