  • HELP!!!! Ipod nano synced with itunes but all purchased music do not play

    HELP, PLEASE HELP!!!
I have two iPod nano's and both have the same issue. I can sync all of my music, single song whatever I like without any problems, however any music which I have purchased from Itures just skips on the nano when played back?
I have done all of the other hints listed, including De-authorizing the PC, reset nano, restored the nano, exported libary/imported libary... you name it... still the misic I've paid for does not work
I have just upgrade to iTunes 7, which all reports everything to be at the latest versions but still nothing works!
Maybe a Sony or other MP3 player would have been the beter optoin for my kids at christmas after all!
    Please help!!

The ipod is not a backup device.  the music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

  • How do I get all the content on my IPod to sync with itunes after I reinstalled itunes after computer crashed, folders and songs no longer match?

My computer crashed back in Feb or March of this year and I just recently reinstalled itunes on it.  Once reinstalled itunes updated software.  Once this was all done I noticed that alot of songs on my IPod were no longer in itunes.  Also, the folders in itunes no longer matched what are on my IPod.  itunes says the computer is active for itunes and many songs on my IPod are on itunes but many are missing.  How do I get itunes to just sync and match what is on my IPod to include all songs and folders.  Many of the missing songs on my IPod and not in itunes are ones I purchased from itunes so they should have them.  I am getting very discouraged with itunes.  I tried to do a support call and pay the fee to have them call to address but I am stationed oversees and they would not accept my overseas number as valid.
Any help is greatly appreciated.  As stated, I just want the music now on itunes to match with my IPod to include folders.  Seems music got lost.  Any suggestions how to back up the music so if this happens again I do not have this issue.  I figured itunes would have my music or at a min just sync up what is on my IPod.
    Thanks gunner

Probably a bit late to help in this thread, but the question is asked & answered frequently.
    *Recover media from iPod*
See this post from Zevoneer for options on moving your iPod data back to your computer.

Some of the tools linked to will only work if the iPod has a valid library. Others can scan the drive independently and some may even be able to rebuild a damaged library. The manual method towards the end should be able to recover your media regardless of the state of the library.

  • 2nd Gen Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download new song

My Ipod will sync with itunes but will not download newly purchased songs.  It is Ipod nano 2nd gen.

If you want to use automatic syncing, you may need to set up or update the iPod's Music sync settings in iTunes.  If the new songs are not included in what gets synced to the iPod, they will not sync.
If the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Select it there, to show its Summary screen to the right.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music, if not already checked. This is the "switch" to enable automatic syncing for songs.
NOTE:  If Sync Music is not already checked, that means the iPod is currently set to Manually manage music.  Setting up automatic syncing will replace the iPod existing content.  If you want to add the new songs manually to the iPod (instead of using automatic syncing), please post back.
If your iTunes library fits on the iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below that, select (checkmark) what you want to sync to the iPod from the lists.
One convenient way to set this up is to first create one or more playlists in your iTunes library, with ALL of the songs you want on the iPod.  Or you can use existing playlists.  Back on the iPod's Music screen in iTunes, select those playlists under Playlists.
When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selection(s) to the iPod (replacing its existing content).  Going forward, to update the iPod, you can just update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  If you have new songs, add them to a playlist that is synced to the iPod.  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time you connect the iPod (or click Sync if already connected), iTunes automatically updates your iPod with the same changes.

  • I cannot get my ipod to sync with iTune.

I cannot get my ipod to sync with iTune.

    Hello megansmummy,
I would be concerned too if my iPod wasn't able to complete the syncing processes. I recommend following the steps in this tutorial to address and issue like this:

  • When syncing with itunes, got error message saying had error and now ipad2 will not do anything other than showing the USB cable with arrow pointing to Itunes on screen.  have done the reset and restart, but still get same thing.

when syncing with itunes, got error message saying had error and now ipad2 will not do anything other than showing the USB cable with arrow pointing to Itunes on screen.  have done the reset and restart, but still get same thing.  Ipad does not show up in itunes even though cable plugged in.  Have shut down and restarted Windows 7 computer.

I had done all of that to no avail.  I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again.  I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped.  Everything is good to go again.  thanks for  your reply

The apps on my iphone will not sync with iTunes.  Process just skips steps 3 and 5.  Any suggestions

Are you signed into iTunes on the computer with the same Apple ID the apps in question were "purchased" with?  Is the computer authorized for that account?

  • IPod won't sync with iTunes after iOS8

I already posted about this but I will post again since I didn't receive any replies. I don't know if there is any way to contact Apple directly about this without having to fork up some money. My iPod Touch 5 will not sync with iTunes ever since the iOS8 update. It shows up in the menu, but will not sync. I click on sync or update, or even backup... nothing. It looks like it's trying to do something for about a second, then it just stops. I NEED TO SYNC MY IPOD. Please someone address this issue and fix it!!!

Mac. And I wanted to add, when the iPod is in the menu, and I click on it, the "sync" button is grey--I can't click on it. The only way to access it is to go to, say, my photos and click or unclick a group of photos. Then it will show the "apply" button. I click on that and it says "starting sync" for a second and then it stops. And the menu bar at the bottom has a little bit of blue "Audio" a couple other little bits of color, then a whole bunch of yellow "other". It's like it recognizes that the iPod is there, but it's not connecting to its content properly.

  • Is a 1st generation iPod nano compatibale with iTunes 12?

I have a 1st gen iPod Nano (lucky me, but I like it).  After downloading iTunes 12 the iPod will not sync with iTunes.  Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes.  That did not work.  Called Apple and they said the iPod may not be compatible with iTunes 12.  So they were no help at all.  You would think they would know the answer.  Tried going back to an earlier version of iTunes but it will not play my library since it was created with a newer version.  So it sounds like I'm pretty much screwed unless I buy a new iPod.  Anyone have any suggestion.

Glad you were able to sort it out - iPod cables and USB ports can sometimes by mysterious in their variability - though in your case the symptoms suggest that a conductor may have failed inside the cable you were using.  I've found that, using a selection of cables:
my 2G nano will occasionally be detected as being connected via USB 1.0 (even when connected to 2.0 ports)
my 3G nano syncs fine but steadfastly refuses to charge when connected to any of the USB ports on my main computer, though using the same cable charges happily when connected to a USB AC adapter
Such things are just sent to annoy us
On your other question, it is possible to completely replicate your library across two or more PCs.  As long as the iTunes database (iTunes Library.itl) is duplicated as well as all your media you then have two physical copies of one logical library, with which iDevices will sync on either computer.  See turingtest2's notes on  Make a split library portable to see how to verify that your library is in a consistent structure to make replication easier, and Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy on one method for replication (typically using an external hard drive that also serves as a regular backup).  My configuration looks like this:
where the library on my "master" system is replicated, using MS SyncToy and an external HDD, to two other systems - a secondary one at home and one in my office at work.  My iDevices will sync to any of these without the "threat" of wiping their content because iTunes detects that they've been previously synced to a different library - because of the replication method used the "unique" library identifier that iTunes uses in the sync process is actually the same on all three systems.
