Ipod nano synch with my 2 pc's

I have two pc's, one at home and another at work, and I want to load songs from both pc's with itunes in the ipod. The thing is that I have different songs to each pc's itunes library and different playlists.
How can I synch all my different playlists from BOTH pc's to my ipod without overwriting the already loaded content.
I thought I have to arrange my files and folders in the two itunes libraries to be exactly the same but this is really loads of pain to do so.Any smarter ideas??thanx

Thanks Bilbo, ur a star for keeping onto this.

Seem to have sorted. After many hours, and 3 unsucessful uninstall reinstalls, did another uninstall following exact protocol, and this allowed me to access Apple file in CommonFiles and actually delete it [never possible previously}.
Seems that a full uninstall very particular.............
QUOTE:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer.
1.     iTunes
2.     QuickTime
3.     Apple Software Update
4.     Apple Mobile Device Support
5.     Bonjour
6.     Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later).
UNQUOTE
There is all sorts of bloatware that Apple sticks on your computer in addition to the actual I tunes Program File, and one of these was keeping a grip on a Folder in Commomn Files that was preventing clean un/re install.
Still lost a whole load of tracls and all Playlists. DOUBLE BAH!!
I back all my music up on seperate Hard Drive, but when i reimport, it has lost all track info, and, INFURIATINGLY, most tracks have a numeral before the name,  which screws up the filing, as u get: eg: 02 Beethoven, 02Bob Dylan, 03 Bach, 03 Adele... hope you get my drift!
So is there any way one can back up I pod tunes files so they contain the necessary data to re-import cleanly, I wonder?
Thanks to all on Forum. If it wasn't for the forums I suspect many more computers would fly out of windows [possibly followed by their owners driven insane by such obfuscatory software].!

I've stopped and started the service, and also have performed cold reboots.
Nothing seems to have helped the situation.

I had an episode of a tv show series on my IPOD NANO 8GB. I just bought a new episode of the tv show and I went to put it on my IPOD NANO 8GB and it removed the first episode off my IPOD NANO 8GB. Now, all I have is the new episode of the tv show on my ipod and I can't get the other back on there. How do I get the other episode that I had on there first back on to my IPOD NANO 8GB with the new episode on my ipod?  Please Help Soon.

    Hello Lisa,
Double check your iPod's sync settings from under it's TV Shows tab in iTunes.  Make sure it is not set up to sync only unwatched episodes.

  • Does ipod nano work with ipod photo dock, s-video out?

Does the ipod nano work with the ipod photo dock, with an s-video out? Will apple make one for the nano specifically?

The iPod nano cannot show photos on an external device, I suspect Apple have not built this feature into the hardware. The options for showing to a TV are not in the photo menus either.

  • Is new software around for Ipod Nano 5G with the Nike sensor and Polar wearlink HeartRateMonitor to get spoken feedback on heartrate-zone, so you get a warning if your heartrate is higher or lower than the predefined range.

    I have:
Ipod Nano 5G with Nike+ sensor and Polar wearlink Heartrate monitor:
works fine, linking is easy, but....
Software is rather minimal: Heartrate is on the screen and you get feedback when the center-button is touched.
To get better results, more functions would be useful, like defining a heartrate zone (like Polar`s own-zone) and automatic spoken feedback if the heartrate is out of the pre-defined range. Also automatic spoken feedback on actual and average heartrate every pre-defined time-interval would be very useful: like the spoken feedback on distance and actual pace I get on my Iphone with Nike+GPS
    Anyone have any suggestions ?

I have the same issue! I purchased a nano 6th, polar hrm so I could run and receive spoken feedback when my heart rate was outside my preset zone.  My suunto t3 used to beep when outside the preset zones.  Automatic, periodic beeps or spoken feedback is the most important information to receive during exercise. I hope apple can update the software to add this simple yet critical feature.

Why not let the customer choose to use iTunes or not ?
Be able to add individual files just by copying them from any computer (any OS, with or without iTunes installed), and use a filesystem browser on the iPod to select which file to play in which directory.
Only Apple would know the answer to this. However, based on the history of the iPod, it seems unlikely that you're going to see this happen. One of the major differentiating features of the iPod is that one doesn't have to mess with a file system browser, it's all handled automatically by iTunes. Now, that's not to say that everyone is going to like players that work this way. Hence, the continuing market for other brands of players.
Please, release a new iPod firmware supporting this feature.
Again, seems very unlikely as it runs counter to the entire Apple design philosophy. However, if you want to make your feelings known to Apple (as opposed to just the fellow users who are going to be seeing this post), submit your feedback here:

  • I purchased an used iPod nano 4th with many many songs on it,but when i hooked the usb cable to try and change the name, something went wrong.i had to reset it,thinking my music would still be there, but i lost everything! Is there any way to get these back

I purchased an used iPod Nano 4th.with many, many, many songs and albums on it,but when i plugged the usb cable into my laptop(i am a new comer to computer) i thought i was changing the name and thought i was syncing but something went wrong and everything was gone! is there any way possible to get these back? Please I need Help!!! Thank you!

Was the music purchased via your iTunes account and/or did you buy it from other sources or copy it from your own CDs, or did the music belong to the previous owner ? If the music was yours then you can sync it back to the iPod via your computer's iTunes. If the music is not still on your computer then have you got a backup of it ? If not then for iTunes purchases you might be able to re-download it depending on which country you are in. If the music was put on the iPod by the previous owner then you will need to buy your own copies of it.

  • I can't get my ipod to synch with my conmuter or itunes.  But my kids are able to synch their ipods.

I can't get my ipod to synch with my computer or itunes.  I've checked the USB ports, my ipod is charged and my kids are able to get their ipods to synch.

Have you tried using a different known working USB cable? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.o port on the back of your PC?  What happens if you reset the device with it still connected to your PC? To do this, toggle the hold switch on and then off, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, try removing all other USB devices (minus the keyboard and mouse if applicable) and reboot your PC. Then reconnect your iPod after opening iTunes.  Any luck there?
What happens if you connect it to another PC or Mac running iTunes. Is it recognized there?
