IPod nano Tubes, in stock Tuesday.

Ive noticed all the craziness about the lack of nano Tubes.
Good news for you in the UK (or the rest of the world, but face a shipping cost).
The nano Tubes are expected in stock on October 4th from http://www.essentialipod.co.uk/product.php?xProd=1869&xSec=35>Essential iPod
Of course i will post a review if i get them next week, but if they are delayed any longer i will most likely get the zCover for iPod nano.

They dont appear to be Official Apple nano Tubes. The company looks to have used the same screen shown on nano pictures on their tubes.
Still, even though they are ''not real'' Apple nano Tubes, they look great and if they do the job then there is no need to compalin.
Emma, what did the box look like that they came in. If it looked to be an Apple branded box, they may be counterfit and not just a similar design.

  • IPod nano tubes

    Hi,
I'm looking at getting an iPod nano in a few weeks. I've been looking around here at the site, and it seems that a ton of folks are saying the iPod nano is prone to scratching.
I have an old iPod 20 GB (non-color), and its Apple designed case for it has protected the screen and body of the iPod so well that folks think my iPod is only a few months old (it's over a year old).
Question: Do the iPod nano tubes actually protect the screen of the iPod, or can you still scratch the screen with the iPod in the tube? And will the tube protect the iPod nano as well as my iPod 20 GB's case has protected my old iPod? Thanks.

    Chris,
    You're correct wrt nanotubes.
For 3rd party skins with screen protection, I've always preferred iskin.com...pricier than Speck and others, but with a much better fit and style IMHO. I believe every skin company is working on nano products...just check their websites. (You can easily find vendors by looking at cases reviews on ilounge.com)
It's no skin for my nano though....it feel too good in the hand for me to coat it in dust-gathering latex. I'm not having scratch problems and I carry it in my front jeans pocket
    (do I have scratches...yes!
are they easy to polish out with Novus or iceCream...yes
do they bother me or look ugly to others I show it to...no!)
[Now if I were hiking, I'd definitely skin it.]
Good luck, and I hope you find something you like!
    Tom

  • Ipod Nano tubes out NOW

    Hey All,
I just recieved ipod nano tubes in the mail from an outside distributor. They are excellent - 5 colours (black, white, green, blue and pink).
I can finally take my nano out of the factory plastic!

  • IPod Nano tubes with Black iPod?

Does anyone have a link to any photos of a black iPod Nano in the tubes? I would love to see what they look like.
    Thanks heaps,
    Stu

I DON'T HAVE PHOTOS OF IT, BUT IT DONE LOOK KIND OF WEIRD...INSTEAD OF GETTING A TRANSPARENT SILICON CASE, BUY THE iSEE COVER...IT IS SPECTACULAR, AND IT DOESN'T MAKE IT MUCH BIGGER

  • Ipod nano 5th gen & stock car radio playback

I bought my wife an ipod nano 5th gen and now that she takes it everywhere she wants to be able to play it thru our autos radio/cass/cd player. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this without buying another radio or having to take this one out?

See if you can still find an 1/8" inch to cassette adapter, I haven't seen any at Best Buy, or anywhere, in a while now though..
If you like my post, or solution to your issue/question, go ahead and click on the little star by my name and/or accept the post as the Solution. It makes me happy.
I'm NOT an employee of Best Buy, or Geek Squad, though I did work as an Agent for a year 5 years ago. None of my posts are to be taken as the official stance that Best Buy will take on your situation. My advice is just that, advice.
Unfortunately, that's the bad luck of any electronic, there's going to be bad Apples... wait that's a horrible pun.

  • IPod Nano Question

ok, I'm about to get a Nano but am very worried about the scratches. I've been searching about the scratches on this forum for the last hour and I've been wonddering now.
If I use the iPod nano Tubes will my iPod Nano get scratched? Do the etubes cover the click wheel? If so how does that work?
If I don't get the tubes before I get my nano will get so scratched up that it wont work? I'll be getting a white one so I'm hoping the scratches wont be that visible. I don't mind teh occasional scratch but I don't want it to break my iPod

Im not sure if it was you or someone else i posted this to, interesting article, check it out,
    http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/nano.ars/3
No...using the click wheel with no protection will not affect its performance...its an ipod like any other and was designed to be used without any protection, thats why they give it to you without a case or protection...
I dont know about the circuit city warrany as I live in Canada...as for the apple warranty, if you ever have to give it to apple, you can simply ship it to them, so you dont have to be next to a apple store. The warranty is 1 year long.

  • Nano Tubes - screen protector?

Does anyone happen to know if the Nano tubes will contain a screen protector? I can't tell based on the pictures that Apple has posted.

    I dont think it does, here's why. . .
This is Apple's description of the tube:
Feeling a little blue today? Maybe your mood leans on the pink side. Either way, iPod nano Tubes have you covered. Constructed from smooth, treated silicone that resists dirt and stains, they come in a set of five colors: purple, pink, blue, green and clear.
Just slip iPod nano in from the bottom or through the screen window to add a splash of flavor and deliver instant protection from scratches and bumps. You can still access the Click Wheel and hold switch, and you can even create a flashy fashion statement by wearing it around your neck with the iPod nano Lanyard Headphones.
The fact that you can slip the nano through the screen window makes me think that, no, there's no screen. I would've bought them, ugly colors and all, if it had a screen. For now I left the sticky cover that came w/the nano on and put the pod in my sock, seems to be working ok until something better comes along.

  • Finally: iLounge review the nano tubes

Almost 2 months after the iPod nano tubes were 'launched', iLounge have put together an in depth review at Apples Official form of nano protection.

Thank you for that! Not too many people request that I play at work!
I would say it's about 90% as easy. It's completely as easy to move the wheel, but pretty darn close. Close enough that it doesn't take away from the fun of it.
The responsiveness was something I was wondering (and concerned) about as well. But, after a little getting used to, and I mean just a little...you'll adjust very quickly. Its not the exact same experience, but as close as I would ever expect.
HTH Nathan. I got lost in the game for a while!

  • Will you still have stock for the refurbished Ipod nano? Where can i get the refurbished ipod nano?

Will you still have stock for the refurbished Ipod nano? Where can i get the refurbished ipod nano?

They haven't shown up in the refurbished section for a bit so they may be sold out. You probably will need to use eBay, Amazon, etc

  • HT2305 I have a new computer with Windows 8 OS.  Do I need to install drivers so that my Ipod Nano will sync with this new computer:

My daughter gave me a new Ipod (Nano) for Christmas.  I had no problem download my songs from my old Ipod (Shuffle) to the new one.  However - since I do not buy songs on a regular basis, I did not buy a new song until 4/29/13.  Now for information...sometime in March my old laptop died, completely.  I had to go buy a new one - which I did and this new one has Windows 8 Operating System on it (which I hate, btw).
Now, when I bout a song on Tuesday, the song did not go to my new Ipod.   I tried everything and finally had to talk to a tech - who was very kind in helping me and we did get all my songs from Itunes to this new computer.  I thought the song I bought would then go on the Ipod - but it did not.  I had already hung up from the tech - since we had been talking on the phone for about an hour.  He informed me that he was giving me a "courtesy break" because it has been over 90 days since my new Ipod was purchased ---- just my darn luck!
Anyway, I have figured out on my own that the new Ipod Nano is not synced with the new laptop with Windows 8.  I have been trying for the last 2 hours to get it to do so and in doing so, found out that Windows 8 is not mentioned in any of the help forums.  So...my question is:  Do I need to install drivers on the computer or what?  I will not be purchasing anymore music from Itunes until I get this matter resolved.  Any help will be apreciated. Thank you.

  • Why is it that i am unable to buy an ipod nano 16gb in germany? In the stores it is advertised however not available, the store only has the 8gb and I can't ship it here? Is it a case of not yet launched, patent infringement or apple just being annoying?

I am trying, thus far with no success, to buy an ipod nano 16gb here in Germany. However whilst the stores advertise it they don't have it in stock and can't tell when it will be. The german apple store only has the 8gb version. Should i try to order from a reseller then they will only post within the uk.  iSo my question is - whats going on? Why are there no 16gb ipods to be (apparantly) had in Germany? Not launched yet? Patent infringement? Apple being very annoying?

Call Apple or an Apple Store in your city and ask them.  Or do a Google search.

  • Can't see brand new iPod Nano in Windows!!!

I just bought a brand new iPod Nano (2nd Gen) for my daughter for Christmas, and right out of the box it would not be recognized by Windows XP or iTunes -- even though another iPod Nano (1st Gen) that we own did connect. It was charging though.
I used this forum looking for answers and although helpful, there was an awful lot of misleading advice. I finally called the help line 1-800-275-2273 on this website http://www.apple.com/support/contact/
What I was told was to simply go through the reset process (which I had ignored because it seemed too simple). The steps are to flip the hold button a couple of times and then hold the menu and select (center) button down at the same time for 10 seconds. The iPod will power back up and be reset.
What this tells me is that Apple has a problem with the software originally loaded on these iPods, but at least this simple procedure solved the problem. I thought I would come back here and provide you with the solution to this problem -- hopefully saving you a lot of time! Good luck!!

I agree with you, Apple to me has some type of problem with their iPods. I've used some type of computer device since 1971, and in all this time, I have never used a device such as the iPod with so many quirks.
I tell you one thing the iPod makes you think!!! O;-D
I'm afraid to buy Apple Care because during the 1st year of owning an iPod you get support that really is not much help. Within the 1st year of owning an iPod, a customer can purchase the Apple Care Plan. The Apple Care Plan is only 2 years, and then you are on your own. If Apple had confidence in their iPod's, they would offer a longer warranty period.
The only thing I see Apple Care is good for is that if something catastrophic happen, they will pay for shipping and any parts that are needed to fix it.
Their stock is doing great. Where is the money going???

  • Ipod Nano - Movies and Wheel Questions

    1. I just purchased the 16GB Ipod Nano and within two weeks the wheel stopped working. I reset the software via iTunes and also by holding down the menu and select button. Nothing worked. Now I'm waiting for a replacement from the store as they were out of stock.
Is this a common item and if so any idea on how to fix it?
    2. I'd like to watch movies from my PC to my TV. However, I don't have a newer TV with an RGB connection and don't want to pay the $100 or so for the converter box. What I'm going to do is purchase either the Component AV Cable or the Composite AV Cable. In my current TV, I only have the Video and L/R audio so unless I can convert Component to Composite, my only real choice is the Composite for my current TV.
I'm looking at a new TV which does have both Component and Composite jacks. I was wondering when watching a movie from the Ipod Nano does it make that much of a difference between the Component and Composite cables? Since my new TV will also have and RGB connection, I'll be able to connect my computer directly.
However, in the interim if I want to watch movies the only choice I have is the Composite cables. I just don't want to spend $50 now and $50 in the next six months. Granted the Composite also gives more flexibility to use on other older TVS.
Based on the output from the Nano, is the Component cable that much better?
    Thanks
    Shawn

I entered this question into the incorrect forum. Is it possible to move this question to the Ipod forums without asking the same question twice?

  • So is the 7th generation iPod Nano in fact a 6th generation iPod Nano with a software upgrade only ?

I went to buy a 7th Generation Nano from a local Apple store and when I gto home to set it up, I found out that it had the old software (i.e. small icons and only two clock faces). I took it back to the Apple store and they informed me that it was the latest model (i.e. 6th gen) and that I had to update the Software to make it a 7th gen model..... this all seems contrary to the following article on the 7th gen tear down....

Same thing with us.  We were told that no "new" stock was brought in to the store, just they lowered the price on the current xtg inventory, so buy it now as you don't need the nike kit.  Here's apple's own link showing gen 6 as current:
    http://support.apple.com/specs/#Nano
Seems like a good way to inject a few more sales as the "new version" at the keynote got our attention.  The gen is moot for us as it seems to be working for us so far as it held a charge overnight powered off.  We still are testing that it doesn't drain down too fast for our uses running.  If it works for what you want, does it really matter what you or someone else wants to call it?

If you want, need, and the item works for you - just buy it and enjoy it.

  • Can I replace my ipod nano 2nd generation with ipod nano 3rd generation.?

I bought an iPod Nano 2nd generation last year in June and the warranty lasts until June of this year 2008. I want to know if there is any way to upgrade to an iPod Nano 3rd Generation without paying for a whole new iPod. If my iPod is messed up or something, will they replace it with a 3rd generation iPod Nano, or another 2nd generation iPod Nano. Is there any way to get the 3rd Generation iPod Nano?
    [x|http://www.parikesit.com]

If my iPod is messed up or something, will they replace it with a 3rd generation iPod Nano, or another 2nd generation iPod Nano.
If they still have iPods in stock of the older generation, you will get one of these; the color may vary, but other specifications should be the same. If not, you will most likely get a current model.
You may want to find someone willing to purchase that iPod, and then put the money toward a current one.
