Ipod Nano - unable to upload photos

hi.
I recieved an ipod nano 8g for Christmas. I have been unable to successfully upload photos onto it. I do not have any songs on it yet so space shouldn't be an issue at all. I have a folder in my 'picutre' file designated for the photos I would like to have on the ipod and I have synced it via itunes as the directions require. So far, only 4 of the 25 photos show up on the ipod. Of them, 2 are so distorted that the photo is nearly impossible to view.
I have been on hold with apple for the last 25 minutes - but my call has yet to be picked up.

Having the same problem. Here's our post.

Hopefully someone can/will help us.

  • I recently re-loaded iphoto, and now am unable to upload photos from my camera - saying there is insufficient disk space

I recently re-loaded iphoto, and now am unable to upload photos from my camera - saying there is insufficient disk space. does anyone have a solution?

Assuming you have space on your disk, then it could be a symptom of a damaged Library.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • My iPhone 4 is unable to upload photos from the camera roll onto facebook. Keep getting the message "unable to upload now"

My iPhone 4 is unable to upload photos from the camera roll onto facebook. I keep getting the message "unable to upload now, try later"

I suffer same.  AppleCare can't seem to solve the problem.  I did a restore from backup. Then I did a restore as new phone (virgin). Then I did a restore as a new device and then backed up from a stored backup (which does not replace media).  To no avail.  Some days it works fine, and on others it's extremely bothersome. The major symptoms:
    1. It can take 5+ seconds to delete a photo.
    2. It can take 10+ seconds for the camera app to activate. In many instances, the moment is long gone.
    3. Switching from camera to video can take 5+ seconds.
    4. Saving a photo that's been optimized in iOS 5 can take 30 seconds. Absurd.
Note that Photos and Camera aren't the only affected applications. What'sApp can have the same issues on occasion. Voice Memos don't respond like they should, either.  I suspect that there's some behind-the-scenes operations with network feed to which iOS gives its full attention (contrary to the UX getting full attention is is historically the case). This makes the user interface painfully slow at times — and, as most of us here would agree — painfully annoying.  This might have to do with changes designed around iCloud, but I'm not even (yet) using it.
The bottom line is that what used to be a quick, pretty good phone camera is now totally lackluster and unreliable for fast shots.  Sometimes I think Apple spends too much time worrying about form and not enough about function.

can anyone help? am unable to upload photos into iphoto. have been doing it for a few years but will not allow it anymore. no error message comes up. has anyone had a similar experience?

What version of iPhoto? How are you trying?
    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Unable to upload photos to any hosting site since upgrading to Tiger....

....while using Safari this is the error message that I get when trying to upload photos to any site (http://www.PictureTrail.com or any other site like it):
    Safari can’t open the page.
Safari can’t open the page “http://www.scubadivingsingles.com/members/profile.jsp?a=upload”. The error was: “POSIX error: Invalid argument” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:22) Please choose Report Bug to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
When using FireFox uploading photos to any site is no problem so I'm wondering if there is something in Safari's preferences that needs to be addressed to correct this minor problem but I haven't been able to locate it.
    Anyone have any ideas??

    Hi
this problem is almost always due to Safari's web cache being disabled, either manually, or after using some 3rd party Safari add-on or enhancer app.
Use Finder to view the folder /Home/Library/Caches/ & ctrl-click on the Safari folder & choose 'get info'. you may see that the Folder is 'locked' or set to 'Read only' ..... Uncheck the 'locked' box if it is checked & change the Read Only to Read & Write & your problem should be resolved.
You could also quit safari & trash the entire /Home/Library/Caches/Safari/ folder. Safari will create a new folder with normal read/write access when it is started next time.

  • TS1500 Unable to upload photos manually

How do I upload photos manually again? Usually each time my iphone is plugged in, the 'Auto Play' will appear and I am able to manually upload my pictures and videos. Currently I am unablr to after downloading the latest software. I have tried and followed these steps:
On Windows Vista or Windows 7
Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the computer.
From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
    Choose Hardware and Sound.
    Choose AutoPlay.
Scroll down to the section labeled Devices. You should see your device listed here (iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch).
Choose Take no action from the device pop-up menu.
I am still unable to either load any photos to itunes or manually.

I presume this is a known issue and i just need to keep researching.

  • Unable to uploading photos

I just purchased an iPod Touch and am attempting to upload photos from my computer to iTunes. Every picture, etc I've attempted this with has popped up a window telling me that "the file cannot be imported because it does not appear to be a valid exported file". This occurs whether I'm trying to upload from my computer of from discs. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and found a solution, or does anyone know of a solution.
Thank you in advance for a quick response.

I think I may have misinterpreted your question.
Here is some help from another discussion thread From "Zevoneer" that I cut and pasted (I can't take credit, and I they don't mind).
you need to have your iPod connected and showing in iTunes to access it.
Here's a simple "How To" on downloading photos from a folder on your hard disk to an iPod:
1 Create a folder on your hard drive to hold the photos you want on your iPod. Call it iPod Photos for example
2 Drag the photos you want from your usual picture folder into the folder you just created
2 Open iTunes, select your iPod in the iTunes Source list.
3 Click the Photos tab and select “Synch photos from.”
4 Choose “Choose Folder” from the pop-up menu and select the iPod photos folder you created.
5 When you want to change what photos are on the iPod just add or remove the photos from the folder you have made and syncronise the the iPod
On a small device like the 2GB Nano I would tend to leave the "Include Full Resolution photos" box unchecked as these will take up a lot of space on the iPod and are only useful if you want to copy photos from one computer to another. iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view.
iTunes will add "optimised", small TV quality versions of the photos to the iPod for you to view. if you want to include full size photos so you can move them from one computer to another check the "Include Full Resolution photos" box. When you want to change the photos on the iPod you simply add or remove the photos you want from your iPod Photos folder and sync the iPod. • My ipod nano 6 wont open photo icon,

My ipod nano will not open the photo icon, whenever I touch on it my ipod turns off

    Don't know why that happens...
The iPod's software may have become corrupted.  So, I think you should do a Restore on the iPod in iTunes.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen, when you select the iPod in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If it's a software glitch, a Restore should fix it.

  • Unable to upload photos from SD card to iPhoto

I am no longer able to upload photos from my SD card to my iPhoto Library.  In the past I would see my SD card on left hand margin to click on and no longer do despite reinserting card or my own troubleshooting efforts (restarting mac and closing down other windows and trying to create a new album)
Also, I am unable to even view the photos as I have been able to in the past.
Would appreciate any assistance in getting this problem fixed so that I can continue to add photos to my library.
    Thanks

Thanks LN.....I am able to view the photos through FINDER through the DCMI folder and then drag them into a new album I create on iPhoto.  It is a bit more work but at least I have a way of doing it.  I wish I could do it the way I did before and don't know why I am encountering a problem all of a sudden.
If there is a way you think of that will allow the SD card to be accessed directly by iPhoto again and you can walk me through it I would appreciate it.
But for now I am THRILLED to be able to at least get my pics imported into iPhoto for viewing and sharing.
As far as reformating the card do you think that will resolve my problem and how exactly do I do that??
    I have a kodak Easyshare M341
Thanks to you and TD for your help.....

  • Unable to upload photos to any website

I am unable to upload any photos to any websites.
When I try to upload photos I just get the rainbow wheel and I either have to force quit (it shows the browser in "not responding") or if I leave it long enough it will "quit unexpectedly".
The uploading process encounters error as soon as I hit upload and it opens the box, I am not even able to choose where I would like to upload from.
I have tried this using the browsers: Safari, Opera, and Firefox.
I have tried to upload photos to facebook, craigslist, shutterfly (I can upload to shutterfly using their extension in iphoto), walmartphoto, and a few other b/s/t forums.
As far as trouble shooting I have erased cookies, emptied cache, deleted my history, shut down all applications, restarted my computer, done a virus scan, reset preferences, unblocked and reblocked pop-ups, reset safari, made sure software was up to date, uninstalled and reinstalled Opera and Firefox...
This has been going on a few months now so I have searched people having similar issues and have tried a few of their tactics but it seems as if their issues were to a specific website so I have not found anything that even slightly improves the issue yet.

    Hello CherriNicole,
While researching what could be causing performance issues with Safari, I found this article I feel will be helpful.
Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3230?viewlocale=en_US
    Resolution
Use the add-on's uninstaller, if possible
    Quit Safari.
Remove any unsupported third-party add-ons you've installed (see if the add-on's installer includes an uninstall feature).
    Open Safari again.
If these steps fix the issue you were having, check the website of the software's developer to see if there is an updated version available, or avoid using the add-on.Manually uninstall third-party add-onsIf the software doesn't have an uninstall feature, quit Safari and try manually removing the third-party add-on files. These files are usually installed in one or more of the following locations:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    /Library/Input Methods/
    /Library/InputManagers/
    /Library/ScriptingAdditions
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
    ~/Library/Input Methods/
    ~/Library/InputManagers/
    ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions
The first four locations listed are in the root-level Library on your hard disk, not the user-level Library in your Home folder. The tilde (~) represents your Home folder.
To find the Home folder in OS X Lion, open the Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library.
To find the Home folder in Mac OS X v10.6 and earlier, open the Finder and choose Go > Home. Then, click the Library folder.
If the issue is resolved by removing items from the above locations, return the items one-at-a-time and test Safari. That way you can determine which item is causing the issue. Once identified, remove the problematic item and put the others back. Check for updates to the items that are found to cause issues, or report the issue to the add-on developer.
Note: When removing items from the above locations, do not put them in the Trash and empty the Trash. If removing the items does not resolve the issue, you can put them back where they came from. In Mac OS X v10.6 or later, you can use the Put Back feature of the Trash to automatically put them back where they came from.
    Cheers,
    Sterling
