Ipod nano updater 1.2.6 *****

I have this running and it says my ipod is not connected. I know good and well that it is, b/c itunes sees it and i can disconnect and reconnect it at whim. Any ideas on what to do or how to get it to recognize it? I have changed usb ports already and that did not help at all.

And if the only problem is u just wanting to put contacts on the ipod then do this:there are 2 ways of adding contacts.first add the contacts(create them) in either microsoft outlook or outlook express then either go to iTunes and click on the ipod tab at the bottom right go to contacts and click synchronize contacts from and pick either outlook express or microsoft outlook.the other way is to export them directly from outlook express or microsoft outlook and directly into the contacts folder in ur ipod

  • Windows recognizes iPod Nano, Updater/iTunes does not.

I'm sure this question's been brought up, but how do I get my computer's iTunes/iPod Updater to recognize my iPod? I've tried resetting/reconnecting/rebooting/reinstalling numerous times, and I've got a 2.0 USB Port.
The thing that irks me is that my other computer recognizes my iPod Nano in the Updater/iTunes while this one doesn't. However, that one's old and doesn't have any music, thus I need this one to work.
    They're both Windows XP.
    Thanks in advance.

I also had the problem of iTunes not recognizing my iPod nano, but it worked on my dad's comp, but I figured it out today. If the iPod is appearing in My Computer, make sure it doesn't have the same drive letter as any other drive(esp. C). If it has the same letter, change the letter by going to control panel -> administrative tools ->computer management ->disk management -> right click on drive of iPod(have plugged in so you know which drive to select)->click "change drive letter and paths" -> I'm not sure if it matters what letter you chose, I was told to choose a letter such as "M" or lower.
Hope this works for you all...I know how frustrating it is to not have the iPod work!

  • Problem with ipod nano updater

    Hi.
I have the other problem with my ipod nano. I reset my software ipod nano, but ipod updater 2006-01-10 write:"iPod Updater 2006-01-10 cannot continue because there are other applications using iPod. Please close all iPod applications andtry again.". But I don´t using other applications, iTunes is closed. I try my iPod update on other computer, but text is same. Can you help me please?
iPod is correct only as external disk. Thank you.

    Hi,
I'm on a Mac so things may not work the same. Have you tried restarting your computer? If you do that maybe nothing will be using it at first.
I hope someone who knows Windows will come to help you.
    Regards,
    Colin R.

    Simple... stop trying to update.
What do you consider is a must have in 1.3.1?

  • IPod Nano Update to 1.3 causes corruption

My nano was originally formatted with my old mac laptop. Now I have a PC laptop at home. A PC has never had a problem reading the ipod. Tonight, iTunes said there was an update, 1.3, for the ipod. So I updated. Once it was done running the update, iTunes said the ipod was corrupt and should be restored. What the ****? The ipod won't even show up under My Computer when in disk mode because it is formatted for a Mac. The only places I can even tell it is connected are in iTunes and the little green arrow at the right of the Windows taskbar to disconnect removable drives.
Needless to say, livid is not adequate enough to express my irritation. The reason I got the PC laptop is because my Mac went kaput. At that point, my ipod became the storage to my only copies of those photos. Now what?

I'm having a similar issue tonight and it is B.S. I have a Nano that I use with my mac at work and my Windows XP at home and it kept bugging me to update so I finally did and instantly after the update it reads as corrupt. ***. I knew I shouldn't have updated.

  • IPod Nano update to 6.0

Started to update to 6.0 and it blew away all my music on the PC - HELP

Please don't patronize me, the fact my Lawyer suggested I post here in the first place is not something I wanted to do.
If you're refering to the prompt after I updated my Nano, I answered Yes -- which I assume is what you mean by "put the songs back on it".

  • Windows will not recognize ipod nano anymore

At the beginning it was working fine, but after I left it for a week it stopped working. When I plugged it to the computer, the computer would not recognize it.
When I plugged in the ipod nano into Window XP, the following happens:
    - Window XP lags and take a long time to display the message "new hardware found"
    - my ipod displays the charging symbol
    - then ipod shows the screen "Do not disconnect" and it stalls on this screen
    - after awhile, Windows show a "safely remove hardware" icon on the bottom right of my screen, but it describes the recognized hardware as "Apple ipod USB Device at location 0"
    Note that:
    - my ipod is not charged at all after all this
    - itunes would not recognize my ipod
    - there's not hardware icon in "My Computer" and "Device Manager"
    - my computer can recognize my friend's ipod
    - I can neither restore or reset my ipod because it does not get passed the "Do not disconnect" screen
So if anybody could provide any help, i'll be very very grateful. =P Please save me.

Maybe for that one week that you left your iPod nano idle, your iPod software automatically updated and left you with some strange conflict.
Anyhow, your symptons sound similar to some described in this article:

  • IPod Nano date & time

iPod Nano updated to 1.3 does not have any place for Indian date & time settings. is there any specific update for this or Apple has forgotten India.

as a workaround, perhaps try setting your main clock to one of the Indian cities, as per the following document:
    iPod: Setting up multiple clocks
(there are settings for Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi ... are any of them in your specific time zone?)

  • Nano update caused failure

While updating my nano with 2006-03-23 about 9:30am, the nano was wiped clean and now is not recognized by windows xp or i-tunes. Before the update, the nano worked fine. Now the update won't even recognize the nano.
Using the support network, I have tried everything - and I mean everything recommended. Nothing will recognize the nano. i-tunes works fine - the nano has no recognition or information exchange. This has been most frustrating.
    Any help is appreciated.
