IPod Nano with built in Nike+ question

My Nano has the Fitness app that allows you to track walking (pedometer) and running. I've noticed that when syncing it shows up as two separate things under the Nike+ tab when I have clicked on the device in iTunes. Furthermore, I have noticed that the runs sync with nikeplus.com whereas the walks sync with nikeplusactive.com. Both sets of data are kept separtely. Is this normal? Is there anyway to merge the data? The reason I ask is because it would be nice to see the data sets together and also it feels incomplete. What I mean by that is that on the nikeplusactive.com site it has a tab for runs. This always shows up as 0 since the runs don't sync here, what gives?

I have the same issue! I purchased a nano 6th, polar hrm so I could run and receive spoken feedback when my heart rate was outside my preset zone. My suunto t3 used to beep when outside the preset zones. Automatic, periodic beeps or spoken feedback is the most important information to receive during exercise. I hope apple can update the software to add this simple yet critical feature.

Glad you were able to sort it out - iPod cables and USB ports can sometimes by mysterious in their variability - though in your case the symptoms suggest that a conductor may have failed inside the cable you were using. I've found that, using a selection of cables:
my 2G nano will occasionally be detected as being connected via USB 1.0 (even when connected to 2.0 ports)
my 3G nano syncs fine but steadfastly refuses to charge when connected to any of the USB ports on my main computer, though using the same cable charges happily when connected to a USB AC adapter

As long as the iTunes database (iTunes Library.itl) is duplicated as well as all your media you then have two physical copies of one logical library, with which iDevices will sync on either computer. Looking for some advice on how to connect my IPod nano with my second computer while travelling. That's what happened: I have my iTunes library on my computer at home and can sync my IPod nano (6 th generation, replaced onyl recently) with that library. While I was travelling and wanted to use my IPod I received an error message asking me to connect the IPod with iTunes in order to recover/restore (sorry, the message apeared in German, so I do not know the exact wording in English) . As I only had my second computer - a small netbook - with me, I downloaded iTunes and connected the iPod - only to receive the message that this Ipod would sync with another computer (sure!) and would I want to sync it with this iTunes library instead now? (Of course not, I did not dare because that library was empty!). So there I was with my computer with iTunes library at home and an iPod stuck in recovery mode and not doing a thing during my vacation. Any suggestions? If I have to take my great big workstation with me to get the iPod running again, I might just as well leave the iPod immobile at home. (;-)

On your home computer connect your Nano, click on the name in iTunes, move right to the Summary tab then tick the box that says Manually Manage Music. You will now have to er, manually drag your music to your iPod, and manually eject it when done, but you will be able to add music from two different computers.
