Ipod no longer sync purchased material?

Hi there. I recieve this message after i connect my ipod.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v128/chrisgee/Failed%20Shots%20Reference/Ipodp rob.jpg
Nothing I have purchased will sync to my ipod for some reason. I bought them ages ago, they work fine in itunes on my computer, and up until recently they worked fine on my ipod also... I think it related to the fact that due to a fault with vista i was forced to 'reactivate' windows. But it was reactivated using the same key that came with the computer? weird
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

Have you tried to de-authorize your computer, then to re-authorize again?
Make sure to use that ID that had been used for purchasing those 52 tracks.

  • Existing Ipod No Longer Syncing

I have an older version of the ipod nano. I recently imported a cd and downloaded the free single of the week into iTunes. When I go to sync my ipod, iTunes says that my ipod is syncing and then says ipod update is complete. On my ipod it will continuously flash a red no sign and say "Do Not Disconnect" underneath, even though in iTunes it says the update is complete. I have tried ejecting my ipod and when I look under the recently added folder or music folder my new songs aren't there.
Also, after I plug in the ipod and iTunes recognizes it under devices, the only screen it gives me is the "Register Your Ipod Screen". If I try to click on "Never Register" or "Register Later" the top of iTunes says "ipod update is complete" and won't change the screen. I eventually registerd my ipod and I still can't get to the ipod summary screen.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to get iTunes to add my new songs from my computer to my ipod, and how to allow me to view my ipod summary screen?? Sorry this is so long but I jsut wanted to include some details if anyone else has had this same problem and knows what to do. THANKS!

I forgot to post this info -- I just got a new laptop (Vista) and installed the latest version of itunes. I had my ipod plugged into the laptop (to see which version it required) and it was plugged in +while itunes installed+. NOW my ipod no longer syncs on my desktop. The desktop is Windows XP and has itunes version 6.something. Would this affect the 'syncing' process? WHAT THE HECK CAN I DO TO FIX IT? Please help me!!

  • Why will my gen2 ipod no longer sync podcasts. I can still download from music from itunes itunes

Why is my ipod gen2 no longer syncing podacasts. They appear on itunes page but will not transfer to ipod. Music is still working fine. Thank you.

If at all possible, copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527).  Otherwise, you will lose and music that was not purchased from the iTune store unless you use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer it to your new computer.  See this article for how to move to a new computer with minimal or no data loss: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

  • IPod won't sync purchased tracks (.m4p files)

My iPod will no longer sync songs I purchased from the iTunes store. The albums do not appear anywhere, and playlists do not contain purchased tracks. I noticed this after the last iTunes update (the version that introduced full screen cover flow). Everything else is working - I can sync podcasts and music ripped from CD's.
    There are several other changes in my iPod that I believe to be related;
    * I can't update the version; instead a see message that "Only Macintosh-formatted iPods can be updated" (my iPod is Windows formatted but I now use it on my mac).
    * I cannot restore, instead I see a message that my iPod cannot be found.
Does anyone know of a fix for these issues?
    1.25 GHz 15" PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   4G 40GB iPod Software: 3.1.1

I just had the idea to sync my iPod using USB, whereas I had been using Firewire. It worked! No errors during transfer and all of my tracks show up on the iPod. I was able to do "Restore" and now my iPod is Mac formatted, and the Update button is available.
    I'm marking my question as answered, but after this experience, I still wonder about Apple's support for older iPods;
    1) Has Apple dropped Firewire support from iTunes with the recent updates?
    2) Does a windows-formatted-ipod-used-on-mac fall into a void that is not fully functional in iTunes?

My iPod will no longer sync with my laptop. I keep getting the following message:
"The iPod "JRT's iPod" cannot be syned. You do not have enough access privledges for this operation."
Apple told me tht it was a problem with my Norton 360 software. I have since removed the software and the problem still persists.

  • IPod no longer sync's with ITunes 6

I upgraded to iTunes 6 last night, and now when I connect my iPod it no longer sync's. Although it does show the battery charging on the iPod, and System Profiler shows it is connected to USB port, it does not mount and iTunes doesn't show an iPod connected.
Has anyone seen this? Any ideas?

Similar problem here.... my calendars sync but I get an error trying to set up the contacts syncing and it won't sync them.
I got totally screwed when they took the iPod and .mac syncing out of iSync, cause I also sync my phone and Palm, and syncing either of those doesn't work right either.

  • Ipod no longer syncs

Can no longer transfer music to IPod. ITunes attempts the transfer then gives message 'The IPod cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-48)'
    Any suggestions?

    Hello Mark,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Try this:
    1. Plug in your iPod and close iTunes.
    2. Go to "My Computer". Click on the iPod drive once. Go to File, and then click Properties.
    3. Go to the Tools tab. Under "Error Checking", click Check Now.
    4. Check both boxes. One says "Automatically fix file system errors" and the other says "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". Place a check mark next to each of these options and hit Start.
The scan may take several minutes or more to complete, but once it has, go ahead and restart iTunes, and try re-syncing files to your iPod.
Others have had luck with the solution provided in this Apple support document. It does say error 50 but may apply to your situation as well. It's worth a shot.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1539
Lastly, others have had success by uninstalling and re-installing iTunes. Worth a shot if necessary right?
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod no longer syncing with address book

I have an older iPod that has always worked great, and it still does except it now no longer syncs my contacts from my address book.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

When you synced the iPod, go to iTunes and your iPod will automatically be listed under "Devices" on the left column.  Click on it and it will tell you what kind of device you have, the version, and other info if you click on the tabs above the iPod's picture.  The tabs are "Summary," "Apps," "Music," "TV Shows," "Books," "Photos," and "Info."  Click Info, and click the box next to "Sync Contacts."  It should work then.

  • My iPod No Longer Syncs!

Hi everyone. I have a 6 GB iPod and recently when I tried to transfer some new songs onto my iPod, it wouldn't work since I had over 6 GB of music in iTunes. When iTunes asked if it could create its own playlist to transfer onto my iPod, I declined the offer. Thereafter, I deleted all the preset playlists (e.g. Top 25 played), thinking that it would leave some extra space on my iPod. After this, I tried to sync my iPod again, and a screen came up claiming "all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist".
I need some help...though I fear that deleting this version of iTunes and re-installing it will erase all of my music in iTunes. What should I do in order to sync my iPod properly again??
    Thanks,
    Jason

Create one or two playlists for the Nano to sync to, then change your iPod preferences to sync the Nano to only those couple of playlists. It is not necessary to re-install.

  • 30 GB Video iPOD won't sync purchased songs from iTUNES.

Previously, on the same computer, I have synced purchased songs from my Itunes library to my iPOD. Now, suddenly, an error message says that I'm not authorized to do so. I use my computer in two countries, the US and Taiwan, and wonder if this has anything to do with the problem. I've already restored the Ipod and reloaded all the songs. The purchased songs still appear in my library but will not sync.

Have you tried Deauthorizing then Authorizing your computer through the Store menu in iTunes?

  • New Audible purchases show in my iTunes library but my 7th generation iPod no longer syncs

My most recent audiobook purchases show in my iTunes library. However, when I connect my iPod it shows as "connected" and I see the notification that it's syncing, which seems to take all of a nanosecond. And then nothing transfers to it.

    Hello Primelady,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • TS1286 iPod no longer syncs with iTunes either by USB or Wi-Fi

My iPod Touch2 is recognised by Windows7 PC when connected by USB and only shows in iTunes under STORE under items purchased. But there is no icon to allow sync to take place.  Wifi no longer works even when iPod is charging and iTunes is running on PC.  iTunes and iPod software shows as up to date.  iPod has been hot and cold restarted.  Nothing suggested in FAQ's is working.   Please help.

  • Ipod no longer syncs says I need an upgrade.

My Ipod touch 16GB was syncing fine with ITunes. Then ITunes said upgrades available. I tried to upgrade and it wiped out everything on my Ipod. Eventually found someone who could get the basics back on it for me. But, when I go to ITunes it states "Ipod cant be used, requires ITunes version 9.2 or later. Download latest version. I'm afraid to do that, because its what wiped out my Ipod the last time. So, I have all my purchases on my computer and no way to "sync" them to my Ipod, as it was before. Please help with any suggestions! Thanks!!

As previous person stated, your ipod firmware is ahead of your itunes version, so your only option for now is to go to apple website and download and install latest version of itunes. Your other ipods should continue to sync fine, I manage 3 ipods on the same computer and everything works fine when I install new itunes version. Back up your purchased music on a disc or an external hard drive before new itunes install, just in case.
To answer your question, you can not update itunes for one specific ipod on the same computer. One computer, one copy of itunes handles all the syncing.

  • New ipod won't sync purchased music from itunes library

I just purchased a new ipod and when I try to sync my library it will not transfer any purchased songs that are in my library.  All the songs are checked and I selected sync all music.

Do these purchased tracks play in iTunes?  What other options do you have enabled from under the Summary and Music tabs for your iPod?  Are you saying non-iTunes purchased tracks sync okay?
