Ipod no longer works anymore

I've had it for about a year, nullifying any warranty probably. I plug it in recently and nothing will pop up. It's like it isn't even there. No lights are flashing, nothing. It is charged all the way, but it isn't detected at all. I'm ****** cause 2 weeks ago I could put any song on to it, but now the **** thing won't even work. I think I may have misaligned something when it was bent by another usb 2.0 wire, and once i was able to bend it to the point of breaking and i barely saw an orange transfer light appear for a second before dying.

i just connected my friends ipod and it works fine. he has version 1.1.1 software on his. i have version 2.3 on mine. since my ipod works fine by itself i’m assuming that the incompatibility between my ipod and my alpine is due to the software update.
here again, what do i do? how can i get an older version of software back on to my ipod?

what kind of connection do you have? do you use the ipod 30 pin cable that connects directly to the head unit? it so, maybe you could get help on the alpine site, or a similar site?it could just be a bad connection. you may just have to go oldschool and use rca cables and plug those in...

If it's an older iPod, its software is not being updated by Apple. So, I don't see how updating iTunes would make the iPod not work with the car's audio system, since iTunes just updates the song files (not how the iPod operates).

Your itunes purchases for music, etc are tied to your itunes account - any computer (up to 5) can be authorized with your iTunes account information. Enter your iTunes account name and password in the iPod - you don't say which version of iOS is on your iPod so more details can't be given until knowing that.

Go to settings do a reset after that tou will need to enter you Router wireless key Then wait for iPhone to come on. This worked for me on iPhone & ipad. Bsydd uk

RESPONSES:
1)   When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2)   I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3)   So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

I work in the computer support section for the Military. The only problem is we use Windows , lol. Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover. I go back next month though I hope. But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein. Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself.

The "slide to unlock" on my elderly touch ipod no longer works.

The "slide to unlock" touch slider on my elderly touch ipod no longer works. My finger can move it three-quarters of the way then it pops back to the left. With struggle, I can sometimes combine the on screen slider moved as far to the right as I can get it then tap the hardware button on the bottom. I just have to keep trying over and over. An arrow appears at the top of the ipod that, when tapped, leads into the most recent song I was listening to before I turned it off. Just removing the earphones turns it off. Otherwise, I would just leave it on. The ipod works just fine once I get past that slider bar at the start. Help!

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I've been looking to see if any one had the same problem and one guy did but they tOld him it was his hardware, but I don't think it was because my friend was able to get it working but it would stop working again like in 10min. - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

One more to the list of people that suddenly the Ipod is not working anymore. It does not turn on, I read some of the ideas, I can see that is something that comes from apple somebody could solve it or should we unitforces to demand a solution from apple?

Radio in IPod doesn't work anymore?

I bought a radio remote which I have been always using in my IPod until one day it doesn't work with my ipod anymore.
The radio option is not visible in the menu. What's weird however, is that the remote still works - I can navigate through my songs list, turn up/down the volume and when I connect the earphones on the jack, I can still hear music. I've tried connecting the remote to other ipods and it works.
Is there anyway I could have this fixed without changing the whole board?

You have to use the ipod Software Updater to restore your ipod. if you're using itunes 7 (or 7.0.1) then you can simply restore the ipod from the iPod Summary Screen. if your ipod is not showing up in itunes or you're using an older version of itunes then you should download the iPod Software Updater from: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodupdater20060628forwindows.html
Then connect your ipod to your computer and open the Software Updater and click Restore. Hope this helps.

If your iPod is still under warranty Apple will replace it.
If you've got an Apple store near you make an appointment at the genius bar and bring it in.
If you don't you'll have to google for the support address for your part of the world and email them.
They'll email you back with instructions.
