I'm putting in my credit card info and it keeps telling me my security code is invalid,it's not of course.. But how do I get my iPod to accept it?!

  • Itunes will not accept credit card information

    With a minimum of 10 attempts with at least 4 different senior advisors, no one can figure out what has changed with Itunes that has resulted in a continuing error message that my card information provided through itunes does not match with bank records. The bank disagrees and has validated information 3 times. Something is very wrong with Itunes billing and no one can help.

    I have been waiting for apple itunes support to answer for several days since I received their machine generated formletter response telling me they're investigating. Finally after trying everything I could think of I figured it out myself. As suspected and confirmed by Visa, this isn't a problem with the credit card or the credit card information, but an itunes store desktop application bug. First it is displaying a misleading and inaccurate message on entering valid credit card information for an available credit card with more than enough credit (your credit card has been declined). This message implies that apple sent the request to your credit card vendore which wastes your time and the credit card vendor's when you contact them to investigate.
    It turns out the whole issue is caused by poorly coded integration between itunes store desktop application and apple store web application. I found an old apple knowledge base article which said that whenever you update account info on itunes store, it automatically updates apple store.
    What was really happening when itunes store displayed the CC declined message was that it was trying to update apple store's information to match, but the apple store account info has different options and validaiton than the itunes store accounts info (in my case the apple store doesn't have an option for my country, Jordan). So when a validation error was encountered by itunes desktop app as it was trying to update apple store information, it just falls back to displaying credit card declined simply because the apple programmers did not bother (too lazy I guess) to take the validation error from the apple store and display it in itunes.
    So what I did was open apple store account management, change my email and save. Then open itunes login with the new email, then itunes will ask me to re-enter account info (not just billing info) this allowed my cc to be accepted immediately.

    I can't add my credit card information in iTunes. Every time I try to add my credit card information, I get an error message stating that "The credit card number you entered is not a valid number for the type of credit card you selected. Please correctyour credit card information. Credit card number contains an invalid character. Only letters, without accents, numbers, and simple punctuation may be used."
    This message makes no sense because credit card NUMBERS do not have any letters. I've tried and tried with numerous credit cards many times, and I get this stupid message every time.
    Any advice on correcting this issue is appreciated. Thanks.

    My iPod touch says I have to "contact iTunes support to complete the transaction" for the credit card. :'( PLEASE HELP!!!!!

    Go to iTunes on your mac or pc and check your credit card information under my account. Verify that everything is ok. Then try to purchase again

  • Itunes will not accept credit card security code

    I set up my itunes account just after Xmas with no problems. Now I get an error saying my security code on my credit card is not valid. It is valid, and all info is correct. Any help with this?

    As of today, I'm having the same problem. My iTunes account has been up and active for a long time using the same card, then suddenly the security code isn't valid. I've double checked all the info and it is correct, but iTunes refuses to accept it… I also tried the article linked above, but it is no help at all. There is no option to select "None" as a payment choice.
    Just to be very clear: I've been using my iTunes account to make purchases with this exact card since 2009, my bank info hasn't changed since 2008, my card is not expired, and the security code is correct.
    If anyone comes up with a solution, I'd appreciate hearing about it. I can't even get the free updates to my apps since my payment info is busted. Grrrr.

    I have the same problem today. Suddenly Appworld stopped accepting my AMEX credit card. I called AMEX and they told me that all is notmal from their sied and that they did authorize transactions. However, Approwld says that credit card cannot be accepted. WHAT A MESS!!! And there is NO EMAIL or phone number to contact regarding this problem which is quite RIDICULOUS !!!

  • Adobe online store in UAE not accepting credit cards, Any solutions

    Hi,
    I am trying to subscribe to Adobe Cloud in UAE, the adobe store takes me through all the purchase steps and after final confirmation step, it gives me a message that Payment Authorisation Failed.
    Now i checked with my bank and there is nothing wrong with my credit card account, they also confirmed that no transaction was received from Adobe.
    It is clear to me now that there is something wrong with Adobe online store that makes it rejects purchases from UAE.
    I tried with chat customer services many times, last thing they adviced me to do is to make the purchase through a local phone number which i tried so many times and its busy all the time, 24 hrs/day busy.
    I don't know but it seems that Adobe has so many problems with their online purchasing system and they are not resolving this quickly enough losing allot of mony.
    If any one has some experiance with this, specially from UAE, please share it with us.

    If you can't remember your security questions go to  Express Lane.
    select iTunes from the list, then iTunes store.        On the next screen select account Management.          There, select iTunes store account security and write that you would like to reset your security questions and / or answers.
    You should get an eMail reply over the next 24 hours.

    So for about the last month I have been trying to update a credit card onto itunes but it has responded with "processing of credit cards currently unavailable". I was wondering if this is a problem with the store or an error on my part, thanks.

    I had the same problem. My issue was unrelated to iTunes. The problem was that my Ethernet ID address was changing from the hard-wired MAC address listed on the back of my cable modem to an incorrect address belonging to Broadcom Corp. (maker of my iMac's ethernet nic card and bluetooth controllers, etc.).
    Whenever I went to the iTunes store, I got the same credit card verification errors. If I shutdown my iMac, rebooted my cable modem and then turned on the computer, the correct Ethernet ID was listed and I could go to iTunes without any issues. The problem is still unresolved, but at least I know a workaround for now.

    Ok, so has anyone else had this problem? I can't purchase anything from the app store (aside from free apps) but I can purchase from the rest of the iTunes store.

    You are so lucky! I also called the US from here in HK and was on the phone for about 45 minutes.
    He put me on hold for 10 minutes while he researched the problem and returned to say that they are now blocking non-US IP addresses from accessing the US iTunes store. He told me that the only thing I can do is buy iTunes gift cards or have someone in the States log-in to my account and download them for me. I suspect that it must have something to do with some Chinese websites that gives you 24 hour unlimited access to the US itunes store to download anything you want.
    But this can't be the whole story as some people in the US are experiencing similar "verification loop" problems.
    It's too bad. I finally made the switch to iphone after years with Symbian Nokia phones. Despite Symbian's lack of apps, I never once encountered such restrictions as I do with this iphone.

    When I activate genius I am always led to a page where my credit card information, including the three digit security code are asked.
    If a transaction is attempted, please tell me: which one, of what amount?
    If not, because Genius is free, why are you needing my security code (the three digit under my card)?

    I just attempted to create a new account when downloading a free application, and the problem remain the same. There is no way to select no credit card and a payment mode is mantadory.
    The best way would be to add the choice:
    "No Payment mode yet"
    on that web page, to allow all users to select their payment mode only at buying time.
    This would be far more secure for all the reasons I've said:
    APPLE MAY BE HACKED LIKE SONY AND SHALL NOT STORE CREDIT CARDS INFORMATION.
    ESPECIALLY NOT THE SECURE CODE!!!!!

    Apple forces users to find messages among the Internet to understand how they could register without a credit card,
    and not only these explainations don't work, but its far more complex for users to find them and try to follow them than to select a proper option THAT IS NOT HERE but should have been if the web site had been made a honest way.

    Either correct my profile YOURSELVES at Apple, or correct your web site like any good company that pretend being customer friendly would do.

    I had to change my credit card information on my ipod touch.  I put in the numbers for the card and for the security code, the card numbers saved but the security code numbers will not save?

    Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download from the store so you won't be able to re-download them, but you should be able to re-sync them back to your phone from your computer's iTunes or backup.
