IPOD not appearing on any computers..please help!

Hello. I've had a 30gb Ipod Video for a few months and have taken great care of it. All of a sudden, however I tried connecting it to my sisters laptop for some of her songs last night and it did not connect, However the "do not disconnect" was on the screen...well since it was doing nothing I disconnected it and it still said "do not disconnect after a long time. then I pressed on the "menu" button at the same time as pressing the middle button and it stopped. Then, i tried connecting it to my own laptop and on my itunes the ipod still did not show up and was not recognized. I have tried all of the computers in the house and my ipod will not show up. Its frusturating because it says "do not disconnect" whilst on the usb cable but still no luck with showing up anywhere. I have the latest version of itunes on all of the computers so that is not it. And i have considered trying to reset it, but the directions actually require for the ipod to show up on itunes for that, and since that is not happening are there any suggestions? PLEASE HELP! thanks so much

Also, try putting your iPod into Disk Mode then connect it to your computer again: Putting your iPod into disk mode
Then, take a look at this article here (presuming that your iPod isn't being recognized by Windows, either): iPod isn't being recognized by Windows or in iTunes

Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:

If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

Ipod not being detected by windows. please help!!!

I have an iPod 30 gb. Serial No- 8L647801V9K
Its about two years old.
All of a sudden one fine day, it stopped showing up on my the computer. Neither does itunes detect it nor does internet explorer. A bubble shows up saying the usb device attached has malfunctioned. It doesnt even charge.
I tried resetting it(centre + Menu)
then i thought my usb cable was bad.
i bought another one and the same problem continues.
i even tried the diagnostic option in itunes to detect ipod.
the ipods completely dysfunctional when connected via either of my two cables.
the 'do not disconnect sign' doesnt come and neither does the battery charging one.
there's nothing wrong with my computer or my usb because i tried my ipod with two other computers as well.
But funny enough, the ipod charges with the adaptor.
im totally stumped
i hope i manage to get this issue sorted out.
i feel lost without being able to update my ipod or sync my playlists.
please help me

Illustrator Anchors Not Appearing!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

My anchors when i use the selection tool does not come up. I only see the outline of what i have drawn (they are just blue square handles). So I can not adjust the size of the object I have drawn. In other words the box that goes around the object that has the white handles does not appear anymore. I think I must of clicked something to turn it off, but I have no idea what. Please help me try and figure it out! It is getting very frustrating!

It's either the toggle Cmd-H (Show/Hide Edges) or Cmd-Shift-B (Show/Hide Bounding Box).

What happens when you try to restore?
If it is asking for the passcode then
Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If not successful, try DFU mode.

IPad Folders will not appear after restore. PLEASE HELP!

first of all thank you all. I am new at this forum and I see it is very helpfull. I have a little annoying problem. I have an iPad 1. I have done a constant back up, but when I had to restore it from the last back up I did, everything was synched back to my iPad except the fact that all chosen apps where all messed up and the folders were gone. Can somebody tell me for the future how can I do a back and avoid that after restoring all apps are messed up and make sure the iPad reappears exactely how it was (folders included)? Many thankx in advance.

I copied this from a post a while back. For some reason the iPad likes to "blow up" the folder structure for some users from time to time. This is NOT my advice, but I thought it was interesting reading and it DID seem to make sense.
I have never experienced this destruction of folders myself when syncing and I have never restored my iPad. See if this won't help you in the future.
There is a secret as to why you are losing your folder arrangements.
They can automatically unpack on a sync.
We should all know there are screens off to the right of the valid eleven home pages. If your last page is full of icons and you inadvertently add another something is shoved off to the right. If you move home screens around using iTunes this also happens.
If any icon filled with apps falls off to the right it will unpack and make a mess. If you move a home page filled with folders which are filled with icons around you can lose them all as they will unpack when you sync to iTunes.
The best choice is to take the right most page and MAKE SURE NO FOLDERS ARE EVER IN THE RIGHT MOST PAGE. That gives you safety room from inadvertently scooting one or more folders into higher number screens. I place a few standard apps in the right most page to hold it in place.
CREATING FOLDERS
Second you are safer building your folders on the device itself. To do this I move everything off the bottom bar and use it as a placeholder (bus)to shuttle apps around as I figure out what group they should be added to. I have over 800 apps in 22 GB on the iPad now. Things are well organized and nice looking when scanning the home pages.
When setting it up I just added all the apps at once. Then as I made room on the home screens I paused made sure my 'bus' was empty, then shut down the iPad to power off and back on again. This cleans up memory and on reboot the iPad will add as many of the hidden apps to the space on your eleven home pages. There after it became a session of rinse and repeat until all the apps I wanted where filed away and arranged.
Use meaningful folder names.

There are some real junk apps that some how I managed to grab in the past. Others are surpassed by obviously more powerful and functional apps that have recently appeared so there is no sense in keeping them. If you delete them off the iPad they will reappear on the next sync unless you delete them from iTunes.
How do you remember to delete them from iTunes too? When I get to the delete confirmation screen I take a screenshot which is stored in my Photos roll. Then I browse that roll while before the computer and find each app that needs to be permanently deleted. After deleting it from the PC I then delete the reminder picture.

ITunes and iPod not syncing properly...please help

When i sync my 60GB video iPod with iTunes it starts to work, a few files or podcasts are copied then it seems to get "stuck" then an error message appears:
attempting to copy to the disk "My Ipod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.
Ipod software and itunes are the latest versions.
I've restored the ipod without success, in fact this was a pain as all my music was wiped from the ipod and can only be put back on a gig at at time. I synced with itunes on my other laptop PC and this worked fine so i think the ipod itself is ok.

Also iTunes is also having some problems closing down properly and can be a huge resource hog (50% CPU) sometimes, this was never a problem before. Should i remove and then re-install itunes? The only other thought i had was some kind of problem with album art which i have attached to music files using itunes art importer. I did this ages ago and it has never been a problem before.
Anyone got any ideas?

Re: conflicting software. I'm not sure what would conflict with iTunes. no new antivirus/spyware or firewall software installed.
hmmmm. let's follow up on that anyway. firewalls typically have to generate a new set of rules for iTunes (and QuickTime, and some of the itunes background processes) when you install a new version of itunes.

I have exactly, the same problem now. I was organizing the mailboxes on my Mac in mail (because mailboxes created elsewher get added at the end when synced, not in alphabetical order - another programming error) when suddenly the entire list of 300 plus mailboxes disappeared. I followed all the same steps with a similar lack of joy. Through finder I can see all the mailboxes are still listed but of course because of the ever so helpful hidden file aspect of Library introduced by Lion, can't import them because the mail import finder window can't get there. Between lion and icloud the system seems pretty bollixed up. Much searching has turned up no useful help. How is this resolved?

Alright, I have access to two computers. One computer has Itunes, alls fine and dandy, expect the computer does not see that my ipod is plugged in at all. The ipod doesn't see that it is plugged in and will not charge. The other computer, after failing to update Itunes, will not allow me to download Itunes. I've uninstalled all of the applications connected with it and it still will not work. A bonus to the fact is that my ipod shows up as a camera. Now I've looked up solutions, tried them out, nothing. I'm about to throw my ipod at my computer.

For the second computer, try completely removing and reinstalling all the Apple software:

Hi I was syncing my son's ipod on the laptop the other and it came up as error 37 unable to sync i have tried all of the advice regarding restoring from the apple support but nothing works does anyone have any idea to what might have happened.

Can you provide details of what you tried so far.

Firefox crashes after a few minutes when using say Ebay and Yahoo sites. Also internet exploer also does the same. I do not know much about computers please help if possible. Many thanks. PS I have the latest Firefox version

The problem has just started. I did get a funny windows coming up about 'best video down loader' but I do have that addon already.
