If it's gone from the computer you cannot transfer it to the iPod without purchasing the game again.
Back up all important stuff is the name of the game.

My 5th gen ipod died and apple replaced it with a new one. I synced it up to the itunes that I already have on my computer but an error message keeps coming up telling me that its not authorized on this computer. What do I do?

Since I downloaded iTunes 11, I get a message when syncing my iPod that some of my songs were not copied because they are not authorized on this computer, I go to Store> Authorize This Computer, a message pops up telling me that this computer is already.
So I am unclear, did you purchase these songs or import them from a cd?
If you imported them and still have the CD try importing them again and see if they work the delete the others.
Or if you purchased from itunes re-dowwnload and see if they work. Maybe they are corrupted files and this should resove it. -
When i try to put apps on my ipod touch it says it not authorized for this computer and to go on the website and do it. but i dont know how?
Hello Bobbie,
Have you authorized your iTunes library yet to play and sync your iTunes purchases? To do this, head to the Store drop down menu and choose Authorize This Computer. Then enter in your iTunes store account credentials and then try resyncing your iPod.

I purchased songs that are now labeled as "not authorized on this computer" and won't be sync'd to my iPod. I then go to the store icon, click on authorize this computer and am told that it is already authorized. I have another 169 or so songs I have purchased and have no problem with those. Anyone know what might be happening? I'm not really a "technocrat" so I hope there is an easy answer.
philfrompittsboroRead the various Knowledge Base Articles on deauthorization & authorization. One of them should solve your problem.
Good luck! -
I restored my computer to factory setting, and then restored all my files. Now some of my songs are not authorized on this computer in iTunes.

ITunes says, "not authorized on this computer" when syncing purchases
I purchased applications and an audiobook from the iTunes Store on my computer. I then tried to sync these to my iphone with iTunes on the same computer. It gave the error message that these items could not be synchronized because they were "not authorized on this computer". My iphone is the computer that is not authorized.
I had the reverse problem going from applications purchased with iTunes on my iphone to back them up on my computer. This time, my computer was the one not authorized.
Both iTunes accounts (iTunes on my iphone & iTunes on my computer) are using the same Apple ID.
How can I get iTunes to sync purchased items with my iphone?
Thanks!
HeatherChoose Authorize Computer from the Store menu in iTunes and sync the iPod again.

I used the digital download from my purchased Blu-Rays and they will not sync with either my iPad or iPhone 4, saying they did not transfer because I am not authorized on this computer. I tried de-authorizing and re-authorized my MacBook Pro alreadydigial
I just got a Touch 32GB yesterday and ran into the same problem. I have two PCs in the house that I can sync my iPods on, but I normally use one that DOESN'T have an internet connection, so that the one that does is free for others to use ... a great argument and tension solution, btw.
Anyway, I hooked up the older "iTunes" PC to the net for a first-time sync with the Touch, and ran into this problem. First it kept detecting the Touch as an unidentified iPhone, then I couldn't sync my classic either. Then I found a post here about how when multiple USB ports running off same USB controller seem to screw with the Touch/iPhone syncing.
So I disconnected all but 2 of my USB 2.0 slots (the Touch & the Portable HD with my iTunes Library) and now it's working perfectly. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it might be worth a try. -
My iPhone wont let me download some apps that i have payed for on on my account; it says my iPhone is not authorized for this computer, but it is.
No, iTunes never says an iPhone is not authorized.
This is occurring on a computer, correct?
Is the computer authorized for the account the media or apps were acquired with? -
I was trying to sync my itouch with my new mac, and some songs won't download because they are not authorized for this computer. But even after my computer was authorized they still won't sync. How do I fix this?
I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.
No answers here, but you are definitely not alone with this issue. -
I have purchased a song from the same computer on itunes that my library plays from. However this certain song is grayed out and will not play. It says the song is not authorized on this computer, but then I try to authorize it and I get a message that this computer is already authorized. Any ideas?
That suggests the track is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -
why do apps not sync -- it says computer not authorized. I tried unauthorizing my computer and then reauthorizing and I tried deleting the sc file. It still says the app is not authorized on this computer and I'm unable to sync this app that I previously had downloaded. Any help pls.
Did you download the app via that same iTunes account id ? Have you tried re-downloading it directly on your iPad (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519) ?

Hey! I downloaded a movie from itunes yesterday. I watched the beginning of it and now i wanna go on, but itunes says that it´s not authorized for this computer. But i watched it on this computer. So, what can i do? thanks!
Log out of the iTunes Store on your device:
Settings>iTunes & App Store...tap your Apple ID, then select "Sign Out"
Reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
After the device has restarted, sign back in to the App Store as above. -
Song transfer is not authorized on this computer.
I am trying to load a song onto my nano. Other songs are able to be transferred without an issue. It is not a new nano nor is it a new song purchase. I am receiving an error message aobut the transfer is not authorized on this computer.
I have recently changed my Apple ID - but that shouldn't have anything to do with this.
But we have had other issue since that time.
But just to be on the safe side, I have restored the nano back to factory settings. We are still not able to transfer this specific song though.I have the same problem it just new song. they dont play on my computer and or my ipod
