IPod not being detected by iTunes..

Alright, so lately been iTunes decides to not copy some video files converted with Videora, but didn't really care till I had this video really wanted to watch. So, I check Apple Support>Do5 5Rs, which when I get upto Restore,it does nothing but copy less video files after, and 105 podcasts out of 255! GR8, how useful! Give it another try, and now it fails, and after that I cannot detect the iPod at all!!!!!!!
I did Diagnostics and it does find iPod, the program detects it but it fails a sync test, interestingly enough it doesn't show it as a device!!!!
Also, I reinstalled, cleared Registry, did the Windows Installer Clean thingie, deleted Temp, did Disk Mode, nothing. When connected, just says on iPod, connected, eject b4 disconnecting!
So, what to do?

Alright, fixed by going to My Computer> selecting the iPod and doing Disk Check, and automatically fix errors, the first one.
But prob now is it still won't sync all the videos, why?!!!

Ipod Touch 4th generation 32G not turning on, not charging.
I have used multiple cords on both computer USB and wall USB converters. I let it sit there for over 20 min with each attempt.
It is not being detected by Itunes or my Windows 7 64bit OS. I have tried all 4 of my USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0), with 3 different chargers.
Holding home and power button will not reset.
Tried taking it out of "DFU" mode but Itunes won't detect it, I didn't think that would work anyway.
NO DAMAGE, I have been very careful with it, aside from a few minor scratches. (that you can't even see unless the light reflects them)
My Itunes is up to date, as is my OS.
All I'm getting is a blank black screen. It has been working fine on this computer before. I have no idea what could have happened. I'm at my wits end here.

  • PLEASE HELP! My iPod is not being detected on iTunes!

I know everyone is posting about this, but nothing seems to be working. I've done tons of research and tried it all!
Here's the story: My 1st iPod has been using the firmware 1.1.1, until I recently decided to update it. It was updated to 1.1.5, and the moment iTunes was restarted, it could no longer be detected by iTunes! My iPod has been working fine before the update, so it can't be the iPod itself. I've listed below all the things I've tried! The iPod DOES appear in My Computer, but NOT in iTunes (using iTunes 8, but I have tried uninstalling and reintalling different versions)
Things I've tried and haven't worked:
    - Restarting the computer and iPod
    - Resetting the iPod by holding the Home and Sleep button
    - Uninstall/Reinstall iTunes (several times, on different versions)
    - Apple Support's 5 R's, and related articles
    - Thread suggestion: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1821771&tstart=0
    - iPod not recognized on laptop article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1401
    - Starting/Stopping the iPod Service and Apple Mobile device
    - Uninstalling and reinstalling the device in Device Manager
    - Plugging into different USB ports (they were fully functional before firmware update)
    - Plugging into a different computer (where it was also not detected on iTunes)
I believe my problem is maybe that I need to reinstall the firmware, but I can't do this without it being detected on iTunes! Any ideas???
I really hope someone out there can help me! I am so frustrated and stuck with this problem and have been going around in circles! Thanks so much for ANYONE's help!

  • IPhone 6 and iPod Touch 5 not being detected by iTunes 12

iPod 5 and iPhone 6 is not being detected after I downloaded iTunes 12.1.2
Tried changing the lightning conductor, that didn't help either.
Re-installed iTunes but it was of no use. :/

See iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

I've uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it twice.
And tried about 90% of what apple support suggests
There is nothing wrong with the laptop...that im aware of.

When you uninstalled iTunes, did you uninstall *everything*? Take a look at http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 , and make sure you completely uninstall iTunes, including the drivers, before you reinstall. If that doesn't work, you might try going back to the last version of iTunes you knew was working -- at least, that will eliminate the question of whether it is iTunes or the iPod. Lastly, sometimes rebooting either the computer and/or the iPod (remember the 5Rs) can sometimes solve the issue.

  • IPod not being recognised by iTunes or My Computer: How to Fix It

For anyone whose iPod is not being recognized by "iTunes," and does not show up in "My Computer," but does show up in "Device Manager," and in "Safely Remove Hardware."
This is a problem with the program DAEMON Tools, which can only get on your computer if you downloaded it. So if you didn't, then this post will probably not help.
First, uninstall DAEMON Tools. Then, search the computer for the following two drivers:
    dtscsi.sys
    sptd*.sys
Delete them both. You may need to uninstall, and then reinstall "iTunes." Your iPod should work fine after this.
    Dell Inspiron 600m   Windows XP

I'm not certain if you mean you can't find where to download it if you want to have it, or you can't find it to get rid of it, so I'll answer both:
If you wish to download it (which I do NOT recommend because of issues with spyware, try a program called Alcohol 120% instead) go to
    http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php
If you wish to get rid of it, it should be on your list of "Add or Remove Programs," if not, it isn't on your system

  • HT203128 My iPad is not being detected by iTunes after I updated to the latest version of iTunes.  What should I do?

After updating to the new version of iTunes, my iPad 2 is not being detected when I tried to sync.  Any solutions?

A few things to try. Any one or a combo mayhelp
    Reset your iPad.
Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. Then plug it back in and see if it is seen now.
    Try a different USB port
    Reboot your computer
    If you have a PC:
If that doesn't fix it, go into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTunes, apple Mobile device service, apple application support.
Then redownload and reinstall iTunes. then try again.

  • Ipod not being detected by Windows

Hey! I've asked this question before, but no one has given me anything yet. Not being selfish or anything. But when I put in my ipod my computer tells me:
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
For that, Itunes doesn't detect it either. Can't put songs on when that happens and it leads to an very distressed kid. Can someone help me and others who have this problem?

but then I'll have to get all the song from CD's again.
If they are all in your iTunes library and you sync your iPod, when you get a new iPod, you just need to sync it to the library. If you've been manually managing your iPod's content, and the songs are not stored on your computer, well, you were taking a chance that the iPod would break or get lost.

  • Ipod not being recognized by Itunes, yet appears on desktop.

Earlier today I had my 80 gb ipod classic plugged into my ancient G4 Powerbook.  Everything was fine until the ipod accidently fell off of my desk.  In falling it had dislatched itself from the usb connection.  I had got the message on my computer screen about the device being removed in the wrong manner. I went through the ipod's menu to see if everything was alright, and low and behold all my songs were gone.  I had decided to plug my Ipod back in the computer.  It showed up on the desktop as usual but when I brought Itunes up it didn't appear in the side panel.  I rebooted my computer and I reset my ipod but to no avail.  I know that all isn't lost because I can still see my songs are on the ipod, yet I can't access them when I have the ipod connected into my computer (The only folders I have access to are Calendars, Contacts, Notes, Photos and Recordings).  As of right now I can still see that 54 out of 80 gbs are available.  I'm at a bit of a standstill in what to do next though.  If I can't save my songs then i'll just have to take the loss but I'm hoping that I can do something.
    Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem. My iPod Classic would even launch iTunes when I connected it but it only appeared in the Finder, not in iTunes. I finally found an old Apple Support article that worked for me:
    Delete the iPod.plist file
Quit iTunes. Delete the following file in the your home directory and open iTunes again.
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ipod.plist
After I deleted the plist, I reconnected the iPod, iTunes started automatically, and the iPod was recognized by iTunes and synced.
