Ipod not charging with JBL Onstage speaker

My ipod Photo has stopped charging when plugged into the v1 JBL Onstage speakers.
I don't think it was supposed to be compatible with the first gen ipod photo, but it used to charge fine, the only thing that has changed is the ipod software has been updated. I've tried reinstalling and restoring the ipod but no luck.
Anybody had the same problem or got a fix?
60gb ipod Photo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   v1 JBL Onstage Speakers

so sorry to mention that I am on your sides too, I bought 3 JBL Onstages (first gen), 1 for me and others for my kids.
All of them broke with 2 major problems:-
1. The plug of the 2 JBL broke, bad contact and cant charge
2. The volume buttons also did not work, cant increase or decrease the volume
I do not want to spread about it, but I did give a JBL another go, I bought the 2nd gen of JBL OnStage (with the remote), which is still running fine without any probelm

not charge with usb hub in wall outlet?

Because the hub is not compatible with the iPod.
Just use your computer or purchase a wall charger.

  • Ipod not charging with usb, but will with firewire?

ipod will only charge at apple store using a firewire charger. What can I do? It seems not to charge are all using usb.

Why not just use Firewire? If Firewire works, use that. There is no need to send the iPod in for service if Firewire works and USB does not.
the reason I would send it in for service if the USB portion of the connector is not working is:
    1) it could be a problem that will propegate to the firewire side of the connector
    2) because the USB side should be working
    3) if I am someplace with a machine that does not have a firewire port to plug into
if its covered under the warranty, then get it fixed so everything works
    imho

  • New ipod touch will not charge with car stereo anymore

I recently got an iPod Touch and when I plug it in to my car stereo it says that "charging is not supported with this accessory". I'm assuming it has something to do with the fact that the new IPT do not charge with firewire.
I'm having the same problem with a USB 2.0 extension cord I bought. this one I don't understand because it is supposed to be USB and not firewire. I've tried plugging that in to the wall with a usb wall charger but I get the same thing, so it's not an issue of there not being enough power.
As far as my car is concerned, the cable has a regular ipod connection. I look up firewire to USB converters but they all have a female firewire (small odd shaped holes) connection, so I couldn't plug my cable in to it. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to fix this situation so that my ipod will charge while it is plugged in?

You have identified a problem that has been around since the iPod touch came out (also effects the latest generation nanos). Go to your local big box store and by yourself a new charger that is compatible with the touch.

  • JBL Onstage Speaker

I bought the JBL Onstage speaker and the sound is great, there is however one issue. You are given several sized plastic pieces to fit over the connector on the speaker so that your ipod model fits correctly and looks good.
Each plastic piece is marked with the model (mini etc.), when I put the mini piece in place and put my mini into it it will not sit down on the connector enough for it to charge! If I do not use the plastic filler piece my mini sits onto the connector with no issues.
Also a bit dissapointed that you need to connect a wire from the JBL into the headphone socket to get sound, other systems work directly from the connector.
    Am I doing something wrong?

  • Will not charge with new cable

I have an iPod classic 5th gen and it will not charge with any newer cables. Either apple or aftermarket. I have found it will charge when I hook up my Kensington battery pack and it charged with an older cable but I no longer have it. It's their something different about older units and charging accessories?

There is no difference.  They are exactly the same. So it doesn't charge whether you plug it into an available USB port on your Mac or via a wall adapter?
Have you check to make sure the iPod's dock connector port was clean and clear of any sort of debris and/or damage such as bent, broken, or corroded pins?

  • HT1476 Will the ipod touch charge with a wall charger?  I tried to use a wall charger by Nook and it didn't work.

Will the ipod touch charge with a wall charger?  I tried to use a NOOK wall charger, but the ipod touch wouldn't charge.

Likely the Nook charger does not provide enough power to charge the iPod with the screen on. You can try leaving the charger connected overnight (iPod sleeping) and see if it is charged in the morning.

  • Ipad 4 not charging with the ORIGINAL Power adapter that came in the box. Can't charge my iPad. I plugged in on PC all night and has been charged to 7%

Yesterday, as usual was going to charge my iPad, it was at 1%. Well, I took my ipad charger (original Apple official, I want to clarify that as a first step, I'm using the brand products than Apple) and plugged into an outlet ... The ipad began loading the first two minutes , then I got a notification telling me that the iPad could not charge with the charger.
I was quite surprised by the announcement. I disconnected and reconnected it .... again, I received the same notification. Then I disconnected and tried it on another outlet ... anything, yet. then I tried it on another outlet and ipad started charging. but after a while I had the same notice, not paying attention to that. I left it charging and I removed roughly 25% that of fear for something to happen. also remembered that situation (made 2-3 months ago where the iPad was not charging but after waiting a while disconnected, reconnected it and loaded normally).
so I decided to wait to re-connect the iPad to the outlet. This time, I plugged it into the outlet (fully discharged) at night and expected to find it loaded in the morning. But my surprise is that it still is off, it did not load anything.
I Bought the iPad in December 2012. Do you think that my iPad is hurt?
What can I do? Ay recommendation?
    Please, HELP ME!

Try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.  You may also want to swap out the cable, just to confirm or rule out that it's bad.
If none of those fixes work, make the appointment at your apple store and have them check it out.

  • Why iPhone 5 not charge with its own charger but will with iPhone 4 charger

why iPhone 5 not charge with its own charger but will with iPhone 4 charger. Thanks to the member who posted that fix.

It sounds to me like the charger that came with the iPhone 5 is defective, or the cable is if you've been switching the cables when you switch the chargers.
    Regards.

I really don't quite understand that. How about a bit of clarity. lets start with proper identification of your notebook. You have mixed up dv7 and the beginning of an Intel CPU identification. that is not a viable identification number. When you remove the battery take a look in the compartment revealed to find the p/n. Post it here please.
When your battery is replaced with another battery in your laptop does it charge? Is the replacement battery a known working battery?
Have you tried the battery check in BIOS or the HP Support Assistant?
Does your notebook boot into Windows with just the power adapter connected?

  • Dose anyone no how to fix my iphone it is not charging with my laptop

hello do you no how to fix my iphone it is not charging with my laptop

Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
