Ipod not retaining its charge
I have an 80gb ipod, purchased in 2006. When I charge it the indicator shows the battery as charged but it fails to hold it. Is it possible to get a new battery installed?
Yes. Apple will replace your battery for the fee indicated on this page.
http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html
A third party service may be less expensive. Google for "iPod battery replacement" for a few possibilities.

I have had my iPod colour 60gb model for just over a month now and all of a sudden the battery is not holding its charge. It is literally going from full to empty in minutes. Anyone else experienced this?
I had a similar problem with a mini, (no not the car, the ipod!) and did a reset and then it held the charge next time.

Scroll bar does not retain its position after or before pack
Hi
My Scroll bar does not retain its position after pack in my application.
But i need to retain its state.
My code snippet is :
System.out.println("VAlue--->" + getHXValue());
scrollPane.getHorizontalScrollBar().setValue(getHXValue());
pack();
My VAlue printed is 100.
But my positon of scroll bar is at 0 th location.
Can any one help me.....Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
My code snippet is :Snippets don't help.
If you need further help then you need to create a "Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE)",
see http://homepage1.nifty.com/algafield/sscce.html,
that demonstrates the incorrect behaviour, because I can't guess exactly what you are doing based on the information provided.
Don't forget to use the "Code Formatting Tags",
see http://forum.java.sun.com/help.jspa?sec=formatting,
so the posted code retains its original formatting. -
Tokenizer not retaining its value
Again another issue I do not understand! Would anybody understand this?

that I come up with BUT while I run into many problems
to get the results right it seems like that has to be
done what the man has to do!I don't doubt it. I'm 100% absolutely sure that your 'fix' doesn't change anything.
Let me explain line by line:
tempToken = tokZ.next(); // do Not convert do Not cast, keep it as ObjectThe Object is what it is. Casting the Object doesn't change it. All it does at runtime is check to see
that the given Object is String or what ever you cast it to: Try the following:
Object o = "test";
String s = (String) o;
System.out.println("o and s are the same Object? " + o == s);
tokZorRetD = (String)tempToken.toString(); // Now, convert and cast
// would that have to do anything with StrongTyping?Given that your previous code was not throwing a ClassCastException, the Iterator is already
a String. Calling toString on a String just returns this:
String s = "test"
System.out.println("s.toString returns s? " + s == s.toString());Also, toString returns a String. There's no need to cast a String to String.
And if s is null (which it appears to sometimes be) calling toString() will throw a NullPointerException.
In short, if your code has been fixed, it was something else. -
I am using CS6 and when I go to save an image for Web the image does not retain its quality
I am using CS6 and when I go to save an image for Web the image does not retain its quality. The first week I did this it worked just fine and now the images save very pixely.
Here is a screenshot of my image on the artboard as I am editing it
Here is a screenshot of the image as I'm trying to save it for Web
As you can see, the image becomes pixely. I have tried to save it as every type of png and jpeg but nothing seems to work. I have no idea why it has started to do this. Please help!Change None to Art optimized then click apply(alteast in CS5 there was an apply, believe they removed that in CS6 as so many people missed that part).

Why is my iphone 4s not holding its charge for very long
why is my iphone 4s not holding its charge for very long i hardly it but still have to charge it every day
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore.
Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -
I have an iPod Touch 5th gen. and people say that if you use your iPod/iPhone while its charging, the battery life will deacrease or the battery will be ruined/shot
However, you should almost fully discharge and fully charge the battery monthly otherwise you will degrade the battery.

My ipad in not holding its charge. A 100% will only last a half of a day depending on how long I use it. 2yrs in december
batteries can only hold a full charge for so many years and you say yours is almost 2 years out. Also, of course battery time will fluctuate depending on how you use it.

Battery Life -
Battery not holding its charge
My iPad battery is not holding its charge
How long does it stay charged?
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or - Recalibrate the battery. See link below.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. 5th Gen Ipod Not Syncing or Charging
I'm having problems getting my ipod to sync or charge. I've tried my wall charger and it's not detecting it. It's not being detected by my computer. I've tried 2 different cords and replaced the battery. I haven't had any problems with it. It's been clicking for awhile which makes me think the hard drive. So now I'm here. ^_^ Can anyone help me please? I just want to make sure it's the hard drive before I go and spend money on another part. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
Hello Seirra I,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
The clicking noise very well could be signs of a failing hard drive, but before we make any final assumptions or decisions, let's just make sure you have tried everything you could.
Have you worked through each potential troubleshooting solution provided in these Apple support documents? You stated a couple of troubleshooting techniques in your post above, but it wouldn't hurt to try the rest of them at this point right?
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Another option is to see if you can get another computer to recognize it. From there you can determine if the problem lies with your iPod or your PC.
If not luck with any of the above, I would definitely recommend getting the hard drive replaced. You can either opt to do it your self, have it serviced by Apple, or a third party company repair it for you. That decision is entirely yours.
Hope this helps.

IWeb header does not retain its altered width when publishing to a folder
I already had assistance to widen the web page header, and thought the problem was solved as below:
I want to use Watercolor template in iWeb 3.0.4 but when I widen the page the full image does not follow. Is there anything that can be done?
iMac 7,1 Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2.4Ghz
This solved my question by Roddy on Apr 6, 2012 1:04 PM
If, for example, you mean the header background image you would need to go into the iWeb package contents and replace the image with a wider one.
Here's an example of a page that's the "standard" 980 px wide instead of the iWeb default of 700px.
Control click the iWeb application and select "Show Package Contents"
Drill down through Contents/Resources/Themes
Control click "Watercolor.webtheme" and "Show Package Contents"
Open the "Shared" folder to get the image
I used EasyCrop to crop and resize the image to 980px X 90px and replaced the original with this wider one.
However, when I publish the site to a folder, the old size is retained. I have created new pages using the new enlarged header, but alas it is not retained when I publish.
I have noticed the privileges of the altered file have changed. Originally it was assigned to be read by Wheel. But as soon as the file is altered, Wheel no longer exists. Could this be the problem? Is there a work around?
ThanksIs there a work around?
you can change it with javascript:

copy the code in my page.
add an html snippet to your page, paste in the code, click apply button. -
Iphone 5 not holding its charge
My iphone 5 looses its charge quickly without being used. I had it on the charger all night and it was only at 94%. It looses its charge in just a few hours with out use. It has just a couple of apps open.
There are a couple possibilities. What have you done so far to try to resolve this?
If you haven't already done so, first reset your iPhone (hold the Home & Sleep/Wake buttons until the Apple logo appears). If that doesn't help, connect your iPhone to iTunes, and make a full backup, then hit the "restore" button to re-download the iOS file from Apple and restores your machine with it. After restoring your backup, if the problem still exists, then Try restoring as a new device to see if the problem persists. If so, then your next step would be to try a Genius Bar appointment to see if the battery is just bad. If you are still under warranty (or Apple Care) then it might be a free replacement, otherwise it might be as high as an out of warranty $269 replacement. -
Ipod not seen wont charge no screen activity
my ipod will not do anything pretty much its completly dead and last it worked was the last time i used it like a week ago the battery life is completly dead i believe but i cant do anyhting to it because it doesnt idk ... help plz
The reason I ask how you are charging it is that if you are charging it via USB then you should check if you have USB ports 1.1 or 2.0.
Also if you are using an AC adapter you might want to plug it into a USB cable.
Are you able to try another method of charging? Such as using a friend/family members USB cable or AC adapter. This will rule out a faulty cable.
