Ipod not seeing my music

I filled up my Ipod the other day on a PC and subsequently bought an Imac. Now, neither computer can see the music on the Ipod. Itunes on both computers shows that it is full of music (the memory bar is full). When I try to access the music playlists, nothing turns up. Any ideas? Thanks

I do not see my music and videos icon....how do I make them appear?

If you can't find the Music and Videos apps on any of your homescreens or app folders, then can you can't find them via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right) ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

The new itunes is slow and I can not see my musics anymore. How can I have my musics listed like they were before?

I have the same problem with new 11.0. Presentation of album data now seems scrambled in 'Album' screen. Instead of albums in alphabetical order with all album tracks I now get albums in the order of the Album Artist. Unless the album artist is EXACTLY the same, the tracks on any one album can be spread all over the screen (hopeless for compilations). Does anbody know how to get the Album screen to sort solely on the Album title?

  • HT204053 I have iCloud turned on, but when I go to iTunes, I do not see any music with the cloud.

I have iTunes turned on, but do not see any music from the cloud (with the little cloud prefix in front of the song) on my MacBook Pro.

iCloud only allows you to access your music from iCloud in two ways.  First, you can redownload music previously purchased from the iTunes store (in many countries), as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  Second, you can access your iTunes library from iCloud (up to 25,000 songs) if you subscribe to iTunes Match.  See http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/.

  • I bought a new Ipod touch, my itunes will not see the music I already have on my PC

I bought a new Ipod touch, my itunes will not see the mp3 songs I already have on my PC

I have thousands of mp3's on my PC.  I used to use a Zune, it died I made the move to I pod touch.  I downloaded I tunes to my PC and a small amount of my music showed up on the screen.  I did a search for an artist for whom I have lots of songs.  I tunes can't find him and tries to direct to the I tunes store to buy stuff by him.  Unacceptable
So then I went to my windows explorer, opened my folder for the artist,  right clicked on a song,  chose "play" and  I tunes then played it.  So now I tunes can find that one song but none of the others in that folder.   I don't want to do this drill with all my songs since I have thousands that I tunes can't or won't display.  Is this just some cynical move by Apple to get me to re-buy music I already have?

  • Why has my ipod not got any music or apps

When i syn my ipod none of the music or apps from itunes is on the ipod

Are you following the instructions here:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
    iOS: Syncing with iTunes
Are you only using one computer/iTunes library? you can only sync with one iTunes library.
Did it every sync from this library?

  • IPod not displaying any music from iTunes

    I am so worried!
I was updating my ipod and all of a sudden it said I had too many songs and that it was going to make a special playlist for me of all the songs it could fit.
Well I got annoyed so I went into my Music category and deleted about 50 songs that I don't listen to. Seeing as how I had made some extra space I deleted the new playlist iTunes gave me...
When I went to check on my iPod ALL MY PLAYLISTS, MY MUSIC, EVERYTHING IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then I plugged it back into my computer and it said that it can't sync my iPod because "all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
    HOW DO I FIX THIS?
I was planning on getting a new iPod as my christmas gift to myself...have I killed my iPod? Should I just get a new one???
I've paid for a lot of movies/tv shows/podcasts/ a lot of music/AMAZING PLAYLISTS....and now that it's not reading my iPod will I lose it all if I get a new one?
Have i just lost EVERYTHING i've ever paid for on iTunes?! Can anyone help?

That is helpful but not exactly what my issue was. It only showed how to drag general music into iTunes, not how to drag self-created playlists back into a folder along with "__'s iPod Selection" in iTunes and on the iPod.

  • Ipod not showing stored music

Hi, I have a 30gb, 5th gen iPod and Windows XP. Everything has been going pretty much rosy up until now, I have about 20gb's worth of music and about 4gb of video stored and after ejecting from my iPod port yesterday I found that all my music wasn't being displayed infact it said I had no music or videos stored on it at all, although i can view my pictures perfectly well on it.
I tried linking it back up to my PC to see if this was just a temporary problem because it has happened befoer a couple of times so wasn't really alarmed by it, anyway, I connected it, I don't have my ipod to sync automatically because i had to format my pc shortly after i had placed all my music on me so basically my ipod is my only copy of all my music apart from the cds.
When it had finally connected (it is painfully slow to sync with windows) it also said i had no music but i had 20 odd gb allocated to 'other' things, although 'autoplay' did appeear and go through a list of the artists and albums on it.
I am really desperate because I have to endure a 3 hour round trip to work everyday and without my ipod i am sure my brain will melt with boredom. Any other way to get my stuff back without restoring i would very much be thankful for (restoring is my last option because i don't want to have to go through every cd again and rip them like last time)
Thanks for your time reading this and for your help. : )
PS I can take screenshots and pictures if this is at all helpful
30gb iPod 5th gen   Windows XP

What was I thinking of course screens would be helpful...
Usually when properly synced with the iPod more options would show under the 'SHANDA'S IP' section such as podcasts etc. and note I have 20gb of 'other' data

  • Ipod not showing any music, Itunes dies when connecting

    Hey everybody,
Here's my problem: Earlier on I loaded 40 songs on my Ipod Classic and was charging it for a little while. When I disconnected it, it told me no songs were in it's library. I reconnected the Ipod to my computer several times and everytime I did so, Itunes died on me, and a Windows window popped up informing me that the external harddrive was perhaps broken and it could attempt to fix it. I didn't do that yet since I have no idea what it's actually going to do and I was hoping there'd be a way to reset it complettly over itunes after all. I've worked my way through the apple support, rebooting etc etc, got no effect whatsoever though. Hope you can help me out.

That is helpful but not exactly what my issue was. It only showed how to drag general music into iTunes, not how to drag self-created playlists back into a folder along with "__'s iPod Selection" in iTunes and on the iPod.

  • Ipod not showing uploaded music.

My Ipod is not showing the uploaded music some of the times. I can still find the album when I scroll through the ipod as it is plugged into my computer. I can also still access the materieal if I go under Albums but for some reason it won't show under the artists portion.
If anyone knows why or can help that would be sweet.
    thanks

There are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
If tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous to all the blanks in place of a title.
Also if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder.

  • IPod not uploading new music after I reformatted computer

I have a 5G 30GB iPod Video that hasn't given me any problems in the past. I just did a complete system restore on my laptop because my hard drive crashed (luckily I had just backed up my music) so I've put everything back to how it was before, but I've also downloaded some new music.
Now, when I plug in my iPod, it recognizes the iPod just fine, shows all the statistics (free space, etc...) but it won't upload any of the new music...even when I right click on the iPod and click sync. It will say iPod updating, but it doens't upload any of the music. Any ideas?

Have you checked to see if the ipod is set to update automatically in itunes? If you use your ipod on another computer and set it to update manually there this setting will stay with the ipod.

  • Why do I not see my music on my ipad mini even when I download from the cloud.

I bought a new Ipad Mini and when I download music or videos from the cloud they do not appear on my ipad. In Itunes on my computer I can see them when I open my Ipad.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
PSE8 has recognized and converted one of my two catalogs, but I can't find the other one at all. How can I get it from PSE6, converted to PSE8?
See the first section of this tech note, "Convert your catalogs":
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/515/cpsid_51536.html
You can also use Windows Explorer to search your entire hard drive for all PSE 6 catalogs (named catalog.psedb); be sure to configure Windows Explorer to view hidden files:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_View_hidden_files
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
I would however like to transfer the slide shows which work fine in the converted PSE8 catalog in my old computer. Some of the files are pdf which I assume I could transfer by simply dragging and dropping. Is there a proper way to transfer just the slide show projects from PSE8 on my old computer to PSE8 on my new computer?
The only way to transfer slide-show projects is to transfer the entire catalog file -- you can't move or transfer individual projects.  You can move the individual PDF or move files that the projects created, but of course you can't edit those later.

  • Ipod not seeing all books in ibooks

Can not sync my books with with my Ipod and Ibooks on mavericks. I have ipod third generations IOS 5 ( the new I book update does not go on the ipod) The Ipod only sees the books which were trasnfered from the ituns book folder to the Ibook app on maverick all my other books i added to Ibook can not be seen .
anybody has a idea how i can get them on the ipod or is it another apple thing where you basicallh have to live with it or by a new device

It could be that you have inadvertently imported these CDs into iTunes as part of a compilation. If so, the artists won't show in the artists menu on the iPod.
To check, highlight the tracks on one of the offending artists CDs in iTunes, right click and select "get info". This brings up a song info window, and by selecting "options" you can check if you have 'yes' in the box marked "part of a compilation".
If you have, select 'no' instead and click 'ok'. Do this with any CD that has this issue. This will alter the info in iTunes, and you should then connect your iPod and synchronize the changes.
The problem arises because the information contained on the Gracenote CD Data Base (where iTunes gets all it's album/artist/track info from), is sometimes incorrect. It can show CDs as compilations when in fact they are not.
You should also check that the songs have album name info in their ID tags.
See: Some songs don't show under artist on my iPod.
Once you add a second album name for that artist even for a single song, ALL the rest of the songs should now show up under that artist, even those without album names.
Providing the spelling for the artists is exactly the same of course.

  • Ipod not seeing videos

someone please help...My son bought a bunch of tv shows through the i-tunes store and downloaded them to the computer. they show up in his library on i-tunes, but won't go on to his i-pod....I've updated every thing that I can think of but the shows still don't show up on his i-pod...please help

What methods have you tried to get the videos onto the iPod? Does your son use manual updating with drag-and-drop to move content onto the iPod, or is he set up for auto-updating?
If he manages things manually, it should be as simple as dragging the TV show files from his iTunes library and dropping them onto his iPod icon.
One more thing - sorry if this is already totally obvious to you - not all iPods can play videos. Only the 30- and 60- gig video iPods can. If your son has a non-video iPod, a friendly email to iTunes tech support explaining the mistake might get him a refund. After all, they should be able to see very clearly on their end whether or not the iPod he has registered is capable of playing videos.
