IPod not working and I've tried everything

My iPod's stuck on this one screen. It's the end of the cord that connects into the ipod to sync, charge ect. with an upward arrow and a music note with a CD behind it. This happened after a tried to restore it and I don't know what else to do! Help!

You could try this:
turn off your ipod, by holding down the home and sleep wake buttons until it turns off. disconnect it from your computer. hold down the home button, whilst plugging the ipod into your computer. itunes should then recognise an ipod in recovery mode, and will ask you to restore. this may help, as it will force the ipod into recovery mode

  • IPhone 5c microphone not working, and I've tried everything

I have an iPhone 5c. For the past week, the microphone has not worked and nobody at the Verizon Store, Apple Store, or at a third-party Apple specialist can figure it out. Here are the steps I have done. I would love for additional input from you experts.
    First, please note the following:
    - iPhone 5c is 18 months old (purchased Dec. 1, 2013)
    - It has been protected with an Otter Box entire time
    - I do not believe water has gotten into the unit, though I have dropped it a couple of times (Again, Otter Box). After each time, it was not apparent of any lack of performance, and I have not dropped it since January 2015.
Problem: There is no response from phone when I speak into microphone. Nor can anyone on the other end of a phone call hear me if I speak into the microphone.
    1. Went to the Verizon Store - service guy said that it is probably a dead mic. Recommends that I go to the Apple Store.
    2. Went to the Apple Store - looked at it for 5 minutes, said probably a dead mic. Apple Store says not sure of the problem, but it is sure it can not fix it, I am told I should buy a new phone. Go back to Verizon Store.
    3. Went back to the Verizon Store - service guy tests it out again. Headphone mic will not work. However, Bluetooth DOES work. I can communicate to phone and to other people that call me through a Bluetooth headset. Verizon Store guy recommends a third-party Apple specialist that will replace microphone for $50.
    4. Went to a Third-Party Apple repair shop - Tried two separate microphones, did not work (though did clean microphone area). Suggested I reset phone because there is probably a software issue.
    5. Go home - backed up everything, reset phone, and restored from iTunes. No change.
So, anyone have any thoughts on what I should do now? Thanks much!

sounds like the controller on the motherboard has gone bad, if so, that would require a motherboard replacement.

  • Flash player 10.3 not working and i've tried everything, i mean everything

Good day all. I'm using the latest firefox 5, win xp pro sp3 and flash 10.3. Now im trying to play a game on facebook and it keeps saying Please update your flash player by clicking HERE.Now i've uninstalled flash with the uninstaller and rebooted and reinstalled. I've tried installing 11.1 beta and that didn't help. I installed both same time and that didn't help. i went to the flash site to see if flash is installed and even though it was installed it kept saying install plugin so i did. Then i had shockwave player 10.3 and flash 11.1 beta. Now i've taken everything off and only got 10.3 on. Of course it still doesn't work. I tried removing that npswf32.dll file but that just tells firefox i don't have flash.

I'm crying out in desperation here. I been battling with this for days now. I've tried googling, searching this site and honestly i'm fed up. I've spent hours and lots of bandwith trying to download updates and install files etc etc. Please is there anyone out there that can help me.

This is a user forum, and people try to help when they have time and specific ideas about certain problems.  Not everybody of the few regulars is available all the time.
Posting incomplete information also slows things down considerably, and posting the same problem multiple time only wastes the volunteers' time.
I will most certainly ignore you if you ever come back in need for help.
Yip then my post is definitely for people like you. Funny how your reply took a day but my problem was only sorted out 4 days later. I had over 100 views of my post in a few hours. I hardly call that a "few regulars". I think you'd be annoyed if your problem wasn't sorted out either. I think only one person replied which was helpful, the other post i did another one person replied but he was trying to be clever. Multiple posts don't waste volunteers time if noone's replying, now is it? Please think before you post next time, seriously.

  • My imessaging is not working and I've tried everything to fix it. I'm not even able to sign in to my Apple ID! Any reason why this is and how I can fix it?

I've tried eveything to fix my iMessage and nothing is working. I can't even log onto my Apple ID. This only happened after the update and started occuring about an hour ago. Any idea on what's wrong and how to fix it?

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

Sending by Dropbox where, To who, to what computer? As your does not start up.
You need to take at least the OS disc to a work Mac computer and create DMG from the OS install disc then restore that DMG to USB thumb drive. Then you can boot the computer from that thumb drive and install the OS. That is if your hard drive is functioning correctly.
Then you can use the App disc in the external CD/DVD drive to load up all the included Applications that come with your version of OS X.

Having tried all the ways possible to get it working, contact your retailer again and politely tell them they did not yet satisfactorily resolve your trouble.  Their Apple-Authorized Service Provider will be able to repair it.

  • Sound on iPad is not working and I've tried all

sound on iPad is not working and I've tried all.. Someone HELP me

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • Trackpad scroll function not working in any app - tried everything

    Hello.
This is my 1st time writing in the forums, and although I have read multiple threads on this issue, nothing has yet solved my problem, including: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1248, & http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1449. SO ANY HELP IS WELCOME! I have a mid-2010 MBP 13" intel-based dual core with Mavericks OSX 10.9.1 installed already a couple of months now. As of last night, my two-finger scroll does not function in any app. It is the ONLY function on my trackpad that does not work. I have tried changing all scroll preferences, restarting the browser (firefox 27.0.1) & computer, as well as opening Preview app 7.0 to see if it affects other apps as well. It does not work even in Finder. I looked in the permissions section of my apps by right-clicking on "get info" & there seems to be a discrepancy between the default users and their permissions. I am wondering if this is perhaps the problem and can be reset somehow to default settings or if there is a terminal command that can reset the trackpad (like the PC function in the device manager of the control panel, diagnose/repair)? I have a screen shot of the different users/permissions that I can send/post you if necessary, but you'll have to explain me how to do this, as this is my 1st post. Thank-you!

So whoever falls on this issue, I have visited the Apple Genius Bar today & this is what finally solved my problems:
    1. We created a TEST guest account in System Preferences to find out if it was a user-specific related problem, and it was as the 2-finger scroll function was working in the new user account. I was told this means that the problem is due to a setting that was recently added/deleted/changed.
    2. We deleted the new user account.
    3. We deleted the entire user library folder (except the Mail folder), as that is where all preferences are apparently stored.
    4. VOILA! 2-finger scrolling now functions as was intended (only all settings must now be recreated).
It is tedious, but at least everything functions as normal & nothing needs to be backed up!
Hope if anyone else has had this problem, they find this post.
    Cheers,
    Leo

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My password no longer works and I have tried everything to change it.I cannot use my Thunderbird and had to go to Gmail...which I do not like.

My Verizon broadband was always crashing (some software issue that has been resolved) and after that my Thunderbird email stopped working saying I needed a password. I have tried everything in every option and still cannot change the password and log in. It has been a month since I have been able to use Thunderbird. I got a gmail account which I do not like at all. I don't like the format. I have not tried to get my mail from Thunderbird to gmail since I am already having enough problems.
I have even tried to uninstall Thunderbird and simply get a new one and start over but it always shows up my old one and thus I have the same password problem. My old version is never uninstalled properly which I find strange...even with a restart after the uninstall.
Any help would be much appreciated so that I can use Thunderbird.
    Angela

No idea what "tried everything" means.
Here is how you troubleshoot a password problem.
Go to your email providers web mail page and verify that you have a working username and password by logging into your account there. If you cannot log in there, look for the link to reset your password. Your email password is administered with your email provider.
Once you have a working password you need to remove any stored passwords in Thunderbird and replace with the new, working password.
From the menu bar select''' Tools-Options-Security-Passwords-Stored Passwords'''
Remove the passwords for the problem account. Close Thunderbird and restart it. You will be asked for a password. Enter the new password.
No menu bar with Tools? Press the '''alt '''key.
FYI: Thunderbird settings are stored in a different file from the program. Removing the program and reinstalling just keeps you busy for a little while and rarely fixes anything. As you have seen the old settings are picked up when Thunderbird is reinstalled.

  • Ipod not recognised by ITunes - have tried everything

    Hi all
My Ipod was running smoothly with Windows until a few weeks back. I've gone through ALL of the procedures suggested (that I could find anyway) and none have worked. I tried to completely reset the IPod as all else has failed and I can't even do that. I try to open the updater and it just freezed whenever the Ipod is connected (so obviously I've not been able to try updating it either). I have the newest version of updater and itunes. Windows recognises the Ipod as a Removable Drive F and freezes if I try to open it. Sometimes I get a message saying it's not formatted but Windows won't format it anyway if I try. Any help??

Ugh. I just got my iPod today. Im really happy, but insanely mad right now.
Recently in the past I got a few USB Flashdrives for my computer. I tried all of them, and every time I installed the USB Mass Storage Device, it gave some kind of warning about how it did not have a Windows Logo, and it wasnt approved to use. It gave me the choice to either continue the installation and possibly destabilize my computer, or Stop the Installation. I continued and didnt think anything of it, and wouldnt you know it, all of my programs were frozen. So I uninstalled it, and now everything works fine.
Now Im having similar problems with my iPod. When I go to install my software for iTunes and my iPod it installs all of it until it gets to the "Publishing" part and then warns me that it isnt approved by Microsoft, and it doesnt have the logo. It says it could severely harm my system etc. I continued anyways, and guess what? Everything is frozen. So I uninstalled it, and took a different route. I stopped the installation the next time, but it continued anyway. I got iTunes up and running, but when I plug my iPod in the USB port it wont even show up in iTunes, let alone on My Computer...Can someone please help? Ive been working on this for over 4 hours now...Im tired. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
