Ipod now making buzzing sound

my ipod suddenly shut off and would not turn back on finally i got it to restart and it had the folder with exclamation point. uninstalled all software and reinstalled. went through updates and tryed to restore ipod. flashed to the language screen then went to the black battery charging screen. then shut off. tried to restart and now when i plug it in it is making a buzzing noise and the screen is flickering with the apple icon. very fuzzy images flashing. i am now going to try the 24 hour drain. please let this work. this whole situation is very frustrating. this all started with the new software update.

my nano is doing the same thing i have contacted support and asked why and what i can do i wonder if they know how big a problem this seems to be i have only had my ipod for 5 days

  • Screen making buzzing sound

I purchased my MacBook in August of 2007. Lately the only problem i have been having is that the screen is starting to make a buzzing sound. Thing is if you scroll down/up the buzzing goes away. But you're reading an article or writing up a document or just letting the screen saver start, it buzzes. It's driving me nuts. Please help.

Mine does it too. You can download software called Magic Noise Killer that will eliminate the buzz. From what I understand the issue has to do with power management when the CPU is idle. This program gives it something to do so it won't buzz anymore. I don't know how safe it is or whether the buzz will lead to a eventual failure though.

  • Ipod Classic Making Weird Sound

I just purcahsed a 160gb Ipod and it makes a sound such as a laser or a single firework when it takes off. Here is a video with the exact sound it's making:
    http://ipod-classic-160gb-on-sale.blogspot.com/2012/02/ipod-classic-keeps-making -weird-beeping.html
I have reset the Ipod to no avail.
Is the device defective or is this normal?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply.  I have found other posts relating to the same issue, going back about two years, yet I can't find a definitive answer.  I called the Genius Bar and they had no idea and told me to bring it in for a hardware test (which I might do just to test it).   It would seem they would know, surely they've seen this this before.  So frustrating.
I'll go with being normal and just be slightly irritated with the sound.

  • X61: Now the buzzing sound/noise comes...

My X61 battery died few weeks ago after 18 months. Now comes the high pitch buzzing noise from inside. I suspect the fan, since I have not seen the HD indicator blinking. Since my warranty expired, I guess nothing Lenovo can do.

Apple service told a guy that its the powersupply. Now he's waiting for a new.
I'll report how it went, if that guy posts some results.
I noticed that the buzzing noise can be gone for several days, and then suddenly apear again.

  • Slight drop- making buzzing sounds.

    Hi there,
this morning i placed my laptop onto my bed A little bit rougher then normal. Within seconds it begun making noise as if a CD was stuck on the optical drive but i had none. However, the sound is coming from the top of the keyboard...more from the center leaning left section. Also, if i place the laptop on a flat surface it makes the sound but if I left it holding it from the sides it does not. It is as if something has come loose.
my warranty has expired. What should I do next?

You didn't buy AppleCare!??!! Shame on you.
You have a defective fan. You can go to iFixIt.com, buy one and replace it yourself. They have take-apart guides there to help you. It's not that hard. Just make sure you get a Phillips #00 screwdriver, so you don't strip the screws.

  • The 5 Step troubleshooting didn't work and now my iPod is making a clicking sound. What should I do?

My iPod froze while loading a song. I held down the center button and Menu to restart it. An O with an X in the middle appeared, and the link to Apple's support site. I followed the link and tried the troubleshooting steps for my iPod (An 80gb iPod classic). Toggling and restarting both brought me back to the same O &  X screen. I tried plugging my iPod into my laptop to see if it needed charging (it was fully charged this morning, but maybe it had gone off in my bag?) My laptop does not recognize that my iPod is plugged in, and my iPod is now making clicking sounds. The O X screen reappeared and then shorted out. If I try restarting again the same thing happens. What should I do?

A better way is to select the photos in iPhoto and export to a desk top folder, right click on it and burn to disk

  • Weird Buzzing Sound when starting up with 5G iPod Docked

I just bought me new G5 iPod today and attached it via my MacPro 3GHz and everytime I restart my computer it makes a crazy buzzing sound until I take the iPod out of the dock and then the sound goes away and the computer starts up fine... I but the iPod back as soon as the desktop is up and then no probs. The ipOd is connected using a Kensington USB Hub. Anyone experience anything similar?? any idea how to fix this.... I'm worried I might be doing damage to either the iPod or the computer??
    Any comments most welcome...
    Yours sincerely,
    Irish MacUser & MacAddict

I've heard of this before on other motherboards. I think the fix was to go into sound properties and mute MIC, INPUT, or some other device. I forget which you have to mute, but this was one possible fix.

yes my brand new i phone 5 c keeps making a funny buzzing sound every few seconds can somebuddy tell me why this is thanks so much :.?

There's no telling what could be causing the funny buzzing sound.
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If the buzzing continues, return the iPhone.

  • IPod makes buzzing sound when charging

    Hello,
When I connect my iPod touch 5g to either a wall charger or to my computer it makes a buzzing sound, like static. Sometimes it is brief other times it won't stop unless I shutdown the iPod. Why is this happening?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • When  i play a song from my itunes library, there is a short "buzzing" sound about every 20-30 seconds. I had the problem before and thought it was fixed after verifying that itunes was my default player. Any ideas to fix the problem now??

when i play a song from my itunes library, there is a short "buzzing" sound about every 20-30 seconds. This same thing happened some time ago, and i thought i had it sovled by verifying that itunes was my default player. Howerver, it has started up again. Any ideas how to fix the problem??

I am having the same problem I have over 11.5 GB of .tmp files, many 1000s. Here is a thread I have found with some more info:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=824308
That thread is almost a year old so I'm not holding out hope for a fix from apple. I'm going to try deleting them and see how it goes...

  • Ipod stopped working making weak sound when try to charge

Hi when i went to charge my ipod it made a weak sound like it was trying to start a motor and it gives an error message to go to the apple support site. It wont charge and it wont turn on . I have tried reseting but the same error message comes up. It's an old ipod with the wheel

The sound is probably coming from the iPod's hard drive, since that's the only thing in the iPod with moving parts.  Unfortunately, the most likely cause is faulty hard drive, if doing a Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
takes you back to the same error screen.  You can try putting the iPod into Disk Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1363
If it goes into Disk Mode, run iTunes and connect the iPod.  If iTunes prompts you to do a Restore, do a Restore.  This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  If the cause is data corruption and there is no hardware problem, the Restore may fix it.  However, that odd sound is probably indicating a hardware problem with the hard drive.

  • Mighty mouse makes buzzing sound?

Just gone through the procedures of manually fixing the common problem of the mighty mouse tracking ball having stopped working due to finger junk/maintenance neglect.
As the Apple official recommendation of reversing mouse and working out any blockage didn't suffice, I found:
    http://julianschrader.de/20071012-how-to-fix-the-mighty-mouse-scroll-ball-video/
    ...was the practical answer.
All good, so far. (for many it seems to be!)
However, having reconnected the scroll-wheel unit, screws, ribbon cables, clips, etc. and re-plugged back into the Mac, powered up, the mouse is now making crazy buzzing sounds and is automatically continuously scrolling upwards, unintentionally!
I have checked and re-checked the correct re-assembling of the four tiny magnetic stamps in the scroll wheel unit and all connections are established, but still the buzzing and scrolling. Also the 'ratchet' type of noise when scrolling is lost to quiet, but smooth scrolling.
Am really missing the luxury of efficient safari browsing and the zoom function, but as the mouse is 24 months old, I am wondering whether this is the reason and has partially bitten the dust.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Hi
Sounds like a fatally damaged mouse to me.
I gave up on the Mighty Mouse a year ago after 5 replacements from Apple. Instead I opted for the Logitech MX Revolution - a vastly better mousing solution.
However, I also opted for SteerMouse instead of Logitech's software driver. Logitech knows how to create a really good mouse, however, their software expertise leaves much to be desired. Also, the only way I could get the computer to initially recognize the mouse was to boot into Windows. As I said, Logitech is on the short-end of software development.
