Ipod (Older) Nano locking up computers and not working

Question

I have tried to Update and restore my nano on two computers with falure. I went through Forms looking and doing what people did to find theres and fix the problem, which has done nothing for me. When I click on restore ipod it goes through the whole set up and acts like its working then stops and says the conn. faild but yet my internet still works...I cant listen to music or any thing on my nano, ive thought about punting my ipod into the nearest water sorce i can find and switching to Creative or some thing, but i like ipod its simple ( in some features ) and has strong backing, please if you know of any thing that i can do contact me!

sounds like either the ipod or the remote is faulty
try resetting and restoring the ipod...

if that doesn't work, try to isolate the problem
if you bought from somewhere close by you could take it back and see if you can try with another unit, or if you have a friend with one/both try theirs
otherwise use the warranty process, try returning the remote first, then if the fault remains do it for the ipod
