Ipod on car charger all the time

im putting a ipod on my harley and was wondering if it would hurt anything if i powered it through the car charger so i wouldnt have to worry about the battery going dead?

If the charger works correctly is should stop charging when charge is complete. Use an iPod rated for charging iPods and you shouldn't have any problems.

  • Ipod is saying it's charged all the time, and won't connect at all to comp

ok, so i have the white ipod nano, the first ones, and it's saying that it's charged all the time. you know the plug sign in the battery at the top of the screen, it's like that permanently!? and the only time when it's not showing it, is when the USB lead and the block charger that goes into the plug sockets is connected to it, which seems completly ridiculous i know, but yeh. and so when i want to connect it to the computer (obviously having to remove the socket block charger from the lead in order to connect to the USB port), it says it's charging again, and the computer doesn't recognise it whatsoever. anyone know how to sort this out, or any techniques to get the computer to connect to the ipod!?
it's really getting on my nerves. i know my ipod is very old haha, but i hate the new ipods and i've been trying to rekindle it's life on many occasions haha

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Is it bad for the battery if i leave my nano 5th on the charger all the time?

Is it bad for the battery if i leave my nano 5th on the charger all the time?

No, it's actually what you're supposed to do. To prolong the battery life, try to keep its level high or full as much as you can.
I don't know for sure, but I think the iPod does not draw current from the charging battery but from the charger itself.

  • Is it safe to plug in charger all the time ?

my question is that is it safe to plugin charger all the time ? when i am using laptop on charger it is using battrey or the charger power ?
if i use laptop with pluged in is it safe ?
    need expert opinions

Yes. It's safe to leave it connected.
That battery should not discharge as long as it's connected to a power source.

  • Is it ok to keep the MBP charging all the time while in use?

will it shortened the battery life? or on the other hand, its good?
because the life count will be less
because i dont shut down my MBP most of the time, maybe i shut it down twice / week, so i keep it charging all the time, even if it;s not in use

No, as long as you make sure it goes through at least 1 charge cycle a month. this address may clear it up further.

  • IPod touch is fully charged all the time

    Hi!
I have a Sony FM/AM Clock Radio (Model ICF-CS10iP) that plays iPod/iPhone, and when I connect the iPod to the radio in order to play it, the battery is recharged very fast, so that my iPod is always fully recharged. In other words, I don't have time to spend my time listening to it with the earphones, consuming the battery till it runs out, then I would have to recharge again. It simply is full all the time. Is there any problem in not having this cicle of consuming and recharging? Thanks!

Yes. For maximum battery life, Apple recommends fully discharging/charging the iPod at least once a month.

  • IPad doesn't charge all the time

Ipad doesn't charge all the time

Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • IPod touch applications crash all the time

I've been really happy with my iPod touch, but recently it has started crashing all the time - generally speaking, an app will run for about 30secs - 1 min before crashing, though this is more like 5-10secs if I'm also playing music. The app crashes and back we go to the home screen, though music will carry on playing seamlessly. It seems to affect all applications (there is nothing on my iPod that doesn't crash regularly now), so I suspect an OS bug rather than individual apps being at fault.
I still have 2Gb free space but I wonder whether it's possible the device is running out of memory and just crashing the app as a result?
I have the official 2.1 release installed, no jailbreaking or anything.

    Hi,
First thing to do is try reset, restore etc. See here [5R's Trouble Shoot|http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/troubleshooting/ipodtouch>.

  • HT4528 My phone says its charging all the time but wont turn on

My phone says its charging but wont turn I have it plugged in all day long and it just continues to show the low battery on the front! About every 6hours it will turn on for 5 minutes then shut right back off! Idk what's going on please help! All the support things on here want my serial number but obviously I cant get to it since my phone wont turn on!!

    Hello Monica121,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like the phone will not boot or load up even after being given sufficient time to charge.
I had a couple of recommendations for this issue:
First reset the device with this procedure.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
From: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists after that, then I would try these steps from the iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting article found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter. If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Brand new iPod touch restarts itself all the time

Hello, my dad just came home from Japan, with a brand new iPod touch.
I managed to register it in iTunes, but when i updated the firmware i got an error message. I tried again and i think that i succeed. Then i started to sync music and the rest of the stuff. The syncing stopped after a minute, and when i tried to navigate on my iPod i realised that the touch screen didn't respond. So after several attempts, i made a hard reset.
But now, the iPod touch restarts itself. The Apple logo comes up, and then the screen turns off in a dramatical way, and then the Apple logo comes up again. If i hard reset my device again, the process continous.
I sometimes the iPod shows the "charge battery" screen, and then I can charge the battery. BUT after 5 minutes, the iPod touch starts restarting itself again. :S
Does anyone have a solution to this? Extremely strange.

I suspect you have a hardware problem. Probably a non-functioning battery (over or under) and causing a hardware reset. Bring it to an Apple Store for replacement.
