Ipod plays when docked but no sound from headset or when not docked

My Ipod plays only when docked. No sound through headset or when not on docking station

Try the following to eliminate a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If still a problem that indicates a hardware problem with the iPod. An appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have completed a song on the GarageBand app which plays fine. I export it via email and it opens up in iTunes on my PC fine but when you play it there is no sound from the file. Anyone know I am doing wrong please?

you might need codecs on you pc. i find vlc player and codecs is perfect for music and videos.

Hey ErikSimon, I kept troubleshooting my problem last night and when I loaded my samples an alternate way, actually the longer way, it worked. I think I have gremlins in the system or something, but I got it working again. I was having the issue when I tried loading the samples via these instructions that were mentioned in SFLogicninja's Youtube video @ 3:07

I downloaded all my midi plugin's to run my M-Audio midi controller, but the patches are gone from GarageBand. I recently had all my files "Migrated" from my old Macbook to my new one and since I have my new Macbook (only a week old) I haven't been able to use the GarageBand patches. Can anyone give me advice?

If you did a Restore operation using the current version of iPod Updater and you still get the same results, then you should take it back and get a new one.

Can't get any sound from my headpeice when plugged

Could someone help me out with this? I am unable to get any sound from my headpeice when I plug it in to listen to music. The sound only comes from the phone's speaker. I have reboot the phone but the problem still persist.

are you using the N900 headset? or a different one?
(Check your headset conditon using another phone or something)

after plugged in, rotate your headphone jack slowly..

Ringer is blank when we raise the sound from left bar

Hi All,
When I raise the sound from left side bar, the ringer icon shows as empty, but the same works well with my headphones on.
Due to this my Music, youtube and other stuff are in mute in speaker mode.Only the incoming calls,messages make sound.
Please advise what needs to be done.

Check Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on both your iPhone and your iPad to make sure that the following are all true:
(1) you have selected the same Apple ID on both devices,
(2) you have the same entries checked under "You can be reached by iMessage at:" on both devices,
(3) you have the same entry checked under "Start new conversations from:" on both devices,
and
(4) that the entry checked in #3 is one of those checked in #2 on both devices.
When you say it has affected your iCloud account, what effect has it had?

Here is the answer: go to http://support.apple.com In the search box at the top left type in the number 304996 and hit enter. This will bring you to a page with 4 solutions. Click on solution number 1 and follow the instructions. This should fix it.

Where are you looking to download them from ? You might be able to redownload them via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your Mac's iTunes. If that album shows there but doesn't have the cloud symbol against it for redownloading then that implies that it's still in your iTunes library

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Unsync/delete all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup.
In order to restore with the unknown Restrictions passcode you will likely have to place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

iPhone works okay when charging but often gets a white screen when I take it off charge - I have tried resetting it and getting help online but the system asks me for an email address and my iPhone isn't set up for emails yet - if I got a text to trigger the automatic diagnostic service I could retrieve it from my 'poorly' device

First, update iTunes, then connect the phone to the computer and do a restore. This will also get your iOS up to date. Your phone should operate correctly after doing this, if not, you will most likely need to have the phone serviced or replaced.
