Ipod quit shuffling songs...plays same one over and over

My 32gb iPod touch 4th generaiton quit shuffling songs?  Just repeats the same song even tho I request shuffle.
This worked fine previously.  Any help appreciated.

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
Any luck there?

  • Each song plays for one minute and then nano shuts down, what to do?

What to do about nano shutting down after one minute of play?

    Hello cs1870,
I would be concerned too if my iPod was shutting off after one minute.  I found an article with some steps you can take to address issues like this:
    Constantly restarting
Try putting the iPod into disk mode and restoring:
Reset the device (press the Sleep and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until the display turns black—about eight seconds).
When the display turns black, hold down the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk mode.
While the device is in disk mode, connect it to iTunes and try to restore.
Sync to iTunes and try to restore the iPod

  • I have a ipod nano, and I bought a Bose portable sound system, when I put my ipod in the unit and play my songs in shuffle mode, it plays the same song over and over, how do I get it to play in shuffle mode?

I have a ipod nano, and I purchased a Bose portable sound system to play my ipod on
but it will not shuffle the music, it will play the same song over and over, until I hit the
next song on the remote or do it manually. Does anybody have a solution?????

Sounds like the repeat setting has been enabled.  See your iPod's User Guide for information on how to turn it off.

  • IPod Nano - Shuffle plays same songs over and over

I have several playlists on my iPod Nano with varying numbers of songs.  But it seems that every time I use my iPod, no matter which playlist I'm using, I get some songs over and over.  I'll hear the same couple songs multiple times in a day/week.   I turn it off when we aren't using it.  So it seems like it's resetting the shuffle every time I turn it on.  Is there some setting I need to change to make it shuffle the songs more?  I don't remember having this problem with my iPod Shuffle.   I'm considering making multiple playlists (like a several workout ones with different songs in each so I get more variety) but wondering if there's a simpler fix
    Thanks

That is probably the Repeat setting.  It can be set to repeat ONE (repeats current song), ALL (repeats current list), or OFF (does not repeat).
Which iPod nano model do you have?  Does it have a touch screen interface, or the (older) click wheel interface?

  • How do I change the settings on my ipod so that it plays continuous music.  Right now, it plays the same song over and over, even if I select the shuffle icon.  It used to show the continuous play icon, it doesn't anymore.

Right click on a movie(in iTunes), and click "get info" then go to album artwork and add the artwork that you want...

  • I upgraded to 4.3.3 and now my iPod touch music won't shuffle. When I press shuffle it keeps replaying the same song over and over.

There are two arrows below the time a song is plays. One is circular (repeat) and the other has two arrows crossing each other (?). The one going circular needs to be pressed to turned it off.

  • My ipod touch will only play the same song over and over unless you manually fast forward?

My ipod touch will not shuffle through the songs. It just plays the same song over and over.  All that shows at the top is the info picture.  How do I fix this?

    Do this:
    Play a song.
Tap the screen once so you see the scrubber.
To the left of the scrubber, there's a set of two arrows going in a circle - if it's blue, it's set to repeat.
Click on it once to make it white - no repeat.

How do I get my ipod nano to quit repeating the same song over and over again?

The control for repeating a selection is available when the Music app is open and the iPhone is in the portrait position. There are three settings Off, repeat one song and repeat album or playlist. You change the setting by tapping the icon.
    OFF
    Repeat one song (current selection)
    Repeat album or playlist

    Hi
I have an Ipod nano which is nearly 12mths old. Recently the shuffle aspect has not been working and I have to manually press the forward arrows on the screen to move onto the next piece of music. If i dont press the forward arrows the same piece of music plays over and over.

    Hello
Tap the screen when playing a song and you should see playback options and tap the repeat until it is white. When it is blue it on repeat and if it has a 1 on it then it is repeating the same song over and over again.

  • Same songs play over and over when I choose shuffle.

And it's extremely irritating. I have about 1200 songs on my Ipod, yet I swear I hear the same 40 or 50 over and over. What gives?

Playlists. In the one I chose, it has about 800 songs. You got me thinking, so I just went back into my playlist, and realized that a lot of songs are duplicated in the list. When I go to uncheck one of them, both songs are unchecked. So now I guess I don't have as many songs in the play list as I thought. Would you know it's duplicating? It shows that both songs were downloaded or added at the same time, so it's not like I added them twice. Hmmmmm.

  • I made 2 playlists on Itunes and put them on my Ipod.  How do I get the songs to play consecutively and not keep playing the same song over and over again???

I'm a new Zumba instructor and have to come up with playlists for my routines.  I made 2 playlists on ITunes and put them on my Ipod.  Everytime I want to play it, only one song from the list plays over and over.  The other songs do not.  How do I get the songs to play the way I have them set up??

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you got them before.

  • My iPod Touch just plays same song over and over.

When I play music by selecting an album, playlist, et cetera, it just plays the same song over and over.  I also just install the latest version of software (29 Oct 11).

Do you have repeat turned on? Below the scrubber bar on the left side is the repeat icon/contro,.  It is the racetrack icon.  If the icon is shated with a 1 then it is set to repear the one song. Tap the icon to change.

  • Same song plays over and over in SHUFFLE

    hello
today i was playing my iphone itunes on my car, or was that in my car???
anyway, i had it set to songs > shuffle
but, one song would come up and it would just play over and over unless i hit the forward button. i checked everywhere i could think of in iphone itunes and iphone settings. no luck.
    this is a new oddity
    any thoughts?
    thanks wayne

    You probably have repeat on.
Tap the album art while a song is playing. This will bring up a scrubber bar with repeat icon on the left and shuffle on right. If the repeat icon is blue, then it is on.

    Hi Deb,
Deauthorizing all is definitely the way to go.  You will just need to authorize your computer again after, as well as your husband's.
Here's some additional information on deauthorizing all:
