IPod Radio Issues

I have the latest iPod software on my 30GB video, but I do not have the radio...I go into settings > main menu > Radio > on but it does not show up in the menu, and I can't access it. I have reset and restored my iPod however it still won't show up. Also, my iTunes no longer recognises my iPod, my pc does, and it comes up in My Computer, however iTunes does not notice that it is there. I have reset my computer, tried opening iTunes AFTER I connect my iPod, however nothing works. please help, on both issues.

No, I didn't realise you needed the remote to use the radio. However my iPod still does not show up on my iTunes. I tried reinstalling iTunes, that did not work either...

  • Creative Zen Radio Issue

    Creative Zen Radio Issue?Hey,
I've had this creative zen player for some time now whilst im overall happy with my product, sadly there is all of a sudden a issue with it.
When i listen to the radio then lock it to just enjoy it - if i then unlock it, some times the screen locks up and stays black.
Whilst a reset solves this it doesn't stop it happening again.
But (this is a big but)...
The volume which i have on safely low - goes to compelte maximum with sound safety option off. It almost defeaned me when it occured and had ringing in my ears. I have booked an appointment with doctors as the ringing yes not really gone since.
Additionally im pretty sure my headphones are screwed as they were totally distorted when this occured which has probably ruined the quality of the speakers which were only a few months old.
So is this well known ? Cos im surprised no one has sued for loss of hearing if others have had this issue. I've yet to have my medical results on it - but would mostly prefer to have my mp3 fixed or replaced cos i cannot risk using it and having it do it again and make my hearing become damaged.
    Thanks for reading.

Does the radio stop working right after lock? I locked the player right after choosing a radio station and the player continues to play. You might want to contact our Customer Support to see if they can help you further.

I currently have iPod Nano with 1.1.1 software update and iPod Radio Remote, but even after the update I do't get the radio option to appear in the main menu or music menu, with the option in settings turn ON. Why isn't this thing working?

    hiya!
just doublechecking something. are you connecting the remote directly to the nano, or are you connecting it to a Dock and putting the ipod in the dock?

  • Problems in compatibility of iPod radio remote with iPod classic 160 GB

    Hi all,
I have just bought a iPod classic 160 GB and want to buy a iPod radio remote as well. However, after I have done my research, I find the radio remote is not compatible with iPod classic perfectly…
Do you think it is a good idea for me to wait a new radio remote (maybe) or later Apple will release update?
    Thanks

I use my Radio Remote with a Classic; it does everything that it had with my 5G-Video EXCEPT it will not allow me to set radio stations, either with the Radio Remote's control or the iPod's control.
I have spoken with an iPod specialist (Apple Care) and according to him Apple has acknowleged less than 100% compatibility/functionality with the Radio Remote and the Classics. One of the reasons, he stated, was that several 5G-Video iPods were "getting fried" when the Remote was not fully connected to the docking-port. So Apple has decided to reengineer the port [for better a connection, I gather]. What puzzles me the most about the new generation of iPods is why they were rolled out without warning customers that their Car-Charger, Video Player, dock, AV Cable, or APPLE'S OWN Remote will not play nice with each other!
This go around, it's find out the hard way.

  • Lumia 1520 radio issues

I recieved an update on my 1520 and the reboot problem I was having seems to have stopped. YEA!  BUT - now I'm having radio issues.  My Bluetooth will just turn off at random times, sometimes in middle of a conversation.  Also, my wifi will not reconnect to known networks until I turn the phone off and on again.  These are actualy more problematic than the reboots were!

If the phone is not performing as expected do a soft reset. A soft reset does not lose data. it is like pulling the battery.
Hold the volume down button and the power button down until the phone vibrates, release. This takes about 10 seconds.  The phone will shutdown and restart.
If this continues take it to Nokia Care.

  • Has Anyone Found the New Version of the  iPod Radio Remote?

    Hi,
Per iLounge, Apple released an updated ipod radio remote that has the most current version of Apple's ipod headphones as opposed to the shortened ones. I've checked on-line, Best Buy, Circuit City Compu World, Micro Center with no luck. I aslo tried the bricks-and-mortar Apple store...they looked at me like I had ten heads. Apparently they have the same sku as the old set.
I posted a question to Apple Support, but no response yet. Has anyone found the new version anywhere?
    Thanks

Thanks. I've submitted requests to Apple to find out if or when they will be shipping the new remote, but they have not responded within their promoted 24-hour timeframe. I'll try to order from Apple directly and hope I get the new headphones too!
    Thanks

  • How do i get my ipod radio/remote replaced?

I bought my ipod radio/remote back in October and its suddenly stopped working. It is detected by the ipod (classic) as it brings up the radio option on the menu and also the volume up and down controls still work. However none of the other controls work at all.
Ive plugged it into my old ipod (video) that my girlfriend uses and it has exactly the same problem.
According to my receipt from the apple store its guaranteed until October 08 so do i need to take it back to the store or can i just get another one directly to me by apple?

You can either take it back to the Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment on your computer the day you decide to go: it is a little busy at all of them right now) or go here: http://www.apple.com/support/oss/

  • IPod radio connect to stereo

How can I connect iPod-radio and iPod via docking station to my stereo (Bose) or is this not possible?
    Siemens-Fujitsu   Windows XP

I don't know why you would want to connect an iPod radio to a stereo when the stereo itself should pick up a radio station. But If you are talking about connecting a iPod radio remote and iPod to a stereo, you will have to leave the docking station out of the mix. you will connect the remote radio to the ipod, then connect a RCA wire (Yellow Side) to the remote radio, the the other end to the bose stereo

  • Question about the "iPod radio remote"

I assume the "radio remote" is the same for every country and is under software control. I want to buy in Canada but use in UK and Canada.
Has anyone got one and seen the RDS work, in the UK almost every FM channel is RDS. Do they have RDS in Canada (Toronto) can anyone confirm?
And of course it says FM so this again I assume no AM, not that I need AM it was just an interest in if it could do it.
What happens about headphones, you can plug a pair into the remote, can you still plug into the bottom of the iPod or does the remote connector get in the way.
What is the story with "line out" I use this all the time as I amp my headphones. So I assume you cant use line out? or is the remote a line out also.
And I assume the remote cable and you headphones act as the aerial, how is the quality? Is it any good indoors, some little FM radios I have used drop to mono indoors. Does this Apple one frop to mono if the signal is weak?
Someone that has one can perhaps answer
    Cheers
    Ray

I can at least answer some of the questions.
The RDS function on this radio/remote is poor in the
UK. You have to set the radio function on the iPod
to "Europe" and when you do this RDS info is not
displayed on almost all radio stations such as
Virgin, XFM, Capital, GLR, etc. It does display on
Radio 2 however. At least, this is my finding. So
it's unpredictable at best. Setting the radio to
"USA" on the iPod increases the likelihood of getting
the RDS to display, but the downside is that you can
then only tune the radio in increments of 2mhz which
is a bit awkward if your looking for 89.1mhz!
There are three settings for the radio which you
choose via the iPod. They are USA/Europe/Japan. No
setting for Canada, although I'm sure you will still
be able to use it over there as I can still use mine
here in the UK even if it's set to USA.
No, there is no AM radio.
You can plug headphones into the remote or the
headphone jack on the iPod, or both at the same time.
I'm not sure I understand your question about the
bottom of the iPod. The radio plugs into the iPod
    via the dock connector.
There is no 'line out' on the iPod. If you mean the
one on the dock, then no you can't use it as you
cannot place the iPod into the dock whilst the
radio/remote is connected as they use the same
    connector.
Yes the cable of the remote acts as the aerial.
Reception is surprisingly good where I am, but it
will of course depend on where you use it. I've
used it indoors without any drop in signal or it
    dropping to mono.
Lastly, you need to update the software for both the
nano or the 5th generation for the radio to work
(after you do this a radio function appears in the
menu), and some users have found that doing this
screws up the iPod. I have mine working on both the
nano and the 5th gen without any problems.
There is a review of the radio/remote here. I like
mine and consider it a worthwhile accessory, but of
course there will be those who disagree.
    iPod
    Radio/Remote Review.
    Thank you for the reply.
Think your right USA or Europe will work in Canada.
Yes I mean the line out via the dock, I just wondered if the remote become a line out socket (I also use a pocket dock for line out for headphone amp as I use a pair of Sennheiser HD600 with my ipod) but of course that is silly becasue you have a volume control on the remote and line out is normaly fixed.
Based on your views I shall get one in March when in Toronto
    Cheers

  • ITunes 10.1 Upgrade on Windows 7, iPod Service issue

I am upgrading from iTunes 10.0.0.68 (64 bit version) to iTunes 10.1 (64 bit version) on my Windows 7. After some time the popup error message reads,
Service 'iPod Service' (Pod Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services
I aborted the installation. Roll back action took place and I am continuing with iTunes
Now when I run iTunes, the message says,
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
I clicked on Yes. Then iTunes application opened with the message "Could not delete service" (the title of the window is 'iPod Service')
How do I fix this problem? I want to upgrade to iTunes 10.1 as I want to upgrade my iPad to iOS 4.2

Now, based on your latest response I did the right-click, install as Administrator. The result unfortunately is the same.
Okay ... let's try a modified version of the instructions from the following document. (The modification is because they aren't precisely accurate for 64-bit systems ... the program files that could potentially be left on your system by the unmodified instructions wouldn't normally be relevant to an iPod Service issue, but you're getting a relatively rare variation on iPod Service trouble. So, just in case ...)
If you get any error messages during any of the uninstalls, deletions or reinstalls, note down what they say and post back with the precise text, please.
    Here's the document:
[Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923]
    ... here's the modification:
When you get to *step 9* of the *Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled* section, proceed instead with the following instructions:
    (9) Right-click the Apple folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
Note: If you have a 64-bit version of the Windows OS, continue with step #10. Otherwise, skip to step #17.
    (10) Open the Program Files (x86) folder.
    (11) Right-click the iTunes folder (if it still exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (12) Right-click the iPod folder, choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (13) Right-click the QuickTime folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (14) Right-click the Bonjour folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (15) Open the Common Files folder.
    (16) Right-click the Apple folder (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (17) Open Local Disk (C:) located in Computer or whichever hard disk your operating system is installed on.
    (18) Open the Windows folder.
    (19) For 32-bit versions of Windows: Open the System32 folder.
For 64-bit versions of Windows: Open the Syswow64 folder.
    (20) Right-click the QuickTime file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (21) Right-click the QuickTimeVR file (if it exists), choose Delete, and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (22) Right-click the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
Now restart the PC and try another iTunes reinstall.
Any better luck with that attempt?

  • 5th Generation iPod radio tuning

I have a new 30 gig video iPod. I can not get reception on my ipod radio at my health club. Due to the frequencies being limited to .1, .3, .5, .7, .9. My health club sends out signal in odd and even tenth numbers example 88.8. I can not tune into the even tenth numbered signals. 88.7 and 88.9 do not work. Other radios that I use get the signal perfectly. But they are not digital. Any suggestions? Could iPods be programed to include the even numbered tenth signals, or am I not doing something correctly. Help!!!!!!!!!!! I love my new ipod radio I want to use it.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try changing the radio's region setting to a different region. With the iPod radio remote connected, go to settings-->radio region-->and change it to Europe. Now you should be able to tune by .1

  • Ipod radio

Has any one got the ipod radio is it worth £35?
I never thought it was going to be that much i though £20/25.
    Thanks

I would love it if there was an option to NOT include the earbuds at a lower price point. (I have odd-shaped ears and can't use earbuds, don't ask ;))

  • Possibly cell radio issue with lollipopo 5.1.1 update

hi all I thought update had gone ok. Very little battery usage when phone is in sleep/display off, etc. Used home wifi network a lot yesterday. Basically no data wifi. day 2 (today): I was out today and had my data connection (4G) on quite a lot (hadn't yesterday).Wasn't streaming or anything, just needed data for checking train times, google maps a bit - certainly nothing intensive.Phone was charged to 100% (switched off) then switched on at 9am ish this morningCell Standby reports, although only 5% of max battery usage, 24% time without signal (out of 8hr). This seems ridiculously high.I have noticed that my signal strength is frequently 1 bar with 4G.I noticed a bit of signal fluctuation, even with 4G switched off but virtually every time I got my phone out and 4G was on, it was on 1 bar of signal.I checked the battery history details:WiFi is indicated as active for the entire time I've had a shoddy mobile network signal - this correlates with my 4G usage.Other times when Wifi has been on (home network, not data), cell signal seems fine.I am on O2 in London4G can be a little up and down for me but has NOT generated this measure of cell standby / out of signal until 5.1.1 upgrade5.0.2 was ok, although tbh I use 3G most of the time, as I associate better battery usage when I don't use 4G.I was even in exactly the same locations using data, etc, as when I was with 5.0.2 ROM, so I'd not anticipate such a dramatic difference/drop in signal quality.I checked with 02 and there are no reported service issues in my area (checked via their website service status).I've just remembered that I had GPS on too but know, 100%, that Location Services was set to "device only", rather than high accuracy. You can also see from my battery history usage, how little the GPS was 'on' for.I am very surprised and disappointed at this. This suggests (to me) a radio issue in the latest update. However, I've not seen others complaining about cell radio issues, so can't corroborate/prove my suspicions. Anyone have any suggestions for me?   Cheers, Gaz Screenshots:

It was suggested this could clean up sluggish performance after an update (although tbh I didn't find my phone to be sluggish). RE: auto updates. I've turned all them off. This shouldn't be happening, at least going on the amount of data I've used today (only 17MB). Btw, could you just explain (or point me to an article) as to why I should use PC companion (rather than say just doing factory reset)?   Cheers, Gaz
