Ipod randomly selects items when newly connected
Hallo, when I connect my Ipod Nano to the car USB port or disconnect it - the ipod nano automatically switches to random selection of next title.
I need to stop the play and go to the main page select "Hörbuch" and start over.
Any idea, how I can prevent random selection of title to be the default selection?
I usually only listen to audiobooks and would not mind to configure ipod to always follow the sequence.
See if a smc and pram reset affects anything.
See if you get this behavior if you log into another account.

Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to reset the passcode during this process:
iOS: Unable to update or restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software. -
Please People I need some help.My iPod is disabled and when I connect it to iTunes it says: Itunes could not connect to the ipod because it is locked with a passcode...how can I do it?
Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then restore.

my ipod nano 3 freezes when i connect it to my pc, i have to reset it so it gets recognised. this is abit annoying, so is their anyway to fix this problem ?
PS:I have ipod nano 4gb G3I have resolved this problem for me. I initially deleted and reinstalled iTunes and deleted any redundant programs which might have been creating a conflict (I have children who install all kinds of rubbish) Someone else had found a USB program conflict and I think my problem was around a conflict with the USB ports. I removed a printer connection which was (unusually) connected via a port next to the ipod connection and plugged the ipod in via a different port and bingo - all is well.

I have tried to reset and restart my iPod touch but it remains stuck at the apple logo and turns off. The iPod is not responsive when i connect it to my computer or wall charger.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- Try on another computer

I have moved all my itunes onto a new external hard drive to free up space. It has wiped my ipod clean! I can still see the itunes on the new hard drive so I restored my iPod and tried to sync. Although when I connect my iPod it's in the process of syncing, so many songs in I get a pop up saying could not copy to my iPod as xyz song title could not be read or written. I click ok for this pop up to dissapear and then another pop up appears saying could not coyp to iPod because of unknown error.!!! Help I'm going crazy.
Did you go into iTunes to change the location of your media files? if not you will need to go into iTunes and click on preference and select the advance tab then click the iTunes Media folder location. Select the location of your on external hard drive.

A playlist that I update on my ipod won't update when I connect my ipod to itunes
I have been using my Ipod Touch 3rd generation to create playlists. The playlists show up fine and play on the ipod, but when I connect the ipod to itunes, and click on the playlist, it does not reflect the changes made on the ipod. I have the ipod set to manually manage, so when I disconnect the ipod the songs are still on the ipod, but why won't they show up on itunes?
I also deleted some tv shows off of the ipod by way of itunes, but when i disconnected the ipod, they were still listed on the ipod, although they would not play. So somehow, my itunes and ipod are not communicating with eachother. Any ideas/fixes?Hey BingHuo,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the iPod will sync but not charge while connected. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Background info: I have music on my iphone that i would like to change / delete / update manually. Software versions of both itunes and iphone are up to date.
So, in chronological order:
When i connect my iphone to my PC, itunes detects it. Fine. No problem.
I click on the 'on this iphone' tab (where I would expect to see the music i know to have on my iphone)... It says 'Music - zero items'. Hmmmm - i know i have over 1 GB of music on there...
I click on the summary tab for my iphone. 'Manually manage music and videos' is checked. The status bar at the bottom shows i have over 1 GB of 'other' information on my iphone, but no music.
Basically what i'm after is being able to delete and add music from my itunes to my iphone as i see fit. At present i am unable due to the reasons outlined above. Tried contacting Apple direct but providing me with only 140 characters to describe the problem to them is.. well... pretty w@nk.
Any help appreciated- have been scouring the discussion boards but cannot find anything that correlates directly.

I have had very much trouble adding music to my wife's iPod. Every time I connect to iTunes, I get an error message that reads ...The iPod "Linda's iPod" cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13019)...I have tried diagnostics, help and what ever iTunes has to offer and cannot fix the issue. I want to add a new playlist with new music. When I connect her iPod, the playlist shows up on her device. When I disconnect, I can not find it in order to play it. Help me.

IPod and iTunes freeze when I connect my 80gb iPod Classic
Ok so I've had the 80gb Classic since August 08 and I recently got a new PC (Installed drivers recently, good spec). When I connect my iPod it freezes, so does iTunes and so does My Computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded latest update, reset iPod, updated drivers.
When I disconnect it says it needs to be reformatted and sometimes it offers me this option when I connect without iTunes open, but then I press OK and it crashes. How can I reformat it easily?
Don't care about loosing files on my iPod.I had an issue once where iTunes wouldn't see the iPod, and the iPod would act like its trying to connect but would never complete (On a Windows Based PC).
The only way I got around that issue with my 80GB Video iPod was to do a reset on the iPod (menu and center for a few seconds until it rebooted). After that the device was good and would sync fine.
However, if your device is saying otherwise like the format option then I'd be concerned... And I would recommend doing a restore first before a format... Try the reset, and connect.... If you are concerned once you get it syncronized then do the restore option through iTunes!
