Ipod recharge in foreign country

I'm going abroad to the Middle East with my iPod. I was wondering if the iPod nano recharger would work with a simple converter. I've heard that the battery overheats and "explodes" when plugged in to recharge.
Will it be safe to rechrge?
Thanks for any help.

i would get this. Better Energy Solio Portable Charger for iPod its much safer for world travel no different converters all solar.

  • HT1807 Urgent Please: Connecting To Network in Foreign Country

I am in a foreign country (Dubai) and my phone works fine except it cannot connect to a Network. It just says "No Service" in upper left-hand corner. I go to Settings > Carrier > Select Available Carrier (that others with iPhone are using), but nothing.
    Any thoughts?
I cannot call anyone because the phone is not working.

You can get a USB power adapter to plug your iPod cable into.

  • USB Adapter's Use in foreign country that does not use standard 110 and

I am not taking my lap top on my trip to NZ but want to charge battery on IPod. Will the Apple USB Adapter work with an additional adapter for the different current and plug in that foreign country?

Yes, you can take the USB adaptor. New Zealand uses 230V. All you need is a plug adaptor so you can plug it into the socket. New Zealand uses the same plugs as Australia.

  • Cost of calling local # in foreign country

What is the cost of calling a local number when I am in a foreign country?  Is it just the same roaming charge I would pay to call a US number from that country?  That's what a Verizon representative told me but it doesn't sound right.
If I am in London, for example, and I have the Global Value Plan will I pay $.99/minute to call a London number or a US number?

        nycityny,
We do not want you to have any surprise charges on your bill. Lets make sure you are able to see exactly what the rates for calling a number in the use while international. The rate for making a call while in London whether calling an international number or dialing a number from the U.S. the rate is $0.99 per minutes with the Global Value Plan. • TS1646 I live in a foreign country and would like to use my US credit card (which has my current foreign address) to make purchase in the US App Store. How do I do this?

I live in Japan but I would like to use my US credit card to make purchases in the US Store.
I had no problems with this previously, but I recently informed my US bank of my Japanese address and changed it (had to).
There is no way to input my Japanese address (so that it matches the bank information) in the fields for the US App Store (which has no foreign country fields, you are limited to having to fill in the US state field, flags me for phone number area code differences, etc.).
When I hit the change country button: A) It took me to the Japanese App Store; B) I could not use my US credit card there (despite my Japanese address).
Yes, I may want to make purchases in the Japanese App Store in the future (I am bilingual), but the selections are different depending on the country.
Now I can make purchases in neither country.
I want to make purchases in the US Store from Japan.
Help! I feel like I am getting punished for being global. (The world should be getting smaller, more interconnected, and more convenient with the Internet --- not the opposite!)

Well, I can certainly understand the licensing argument if I were using a Japanese credit card with a Japanse address and making a purchase with Japanese yen from the US Store from Japan.
When I am making a purchase with US card from the US store with US dollars, the argument becomes a bit suspect  (I know it is Apple's, not your argument).
it is just kind of a paradoxical situation and I am hoping Apple will offer some sort of solution. We can always hoe, right?
    Thank you for your reply.

  • TS3694 Need help immediately! I am at the end of my rope (in a foreign country).

i have researched to death the dreaded 1015 error, while trying to restore my iphone 3gs. i was on 4.2.1, and tried to restore through itunes to the newest 6.1.3. this phone was previously jailbroken and unlocked. any help would be greatly appreciated! i am in a foreign country, and need my phone for many things, especially to navigate from place to place.

Hey, I hope I am not too late.
In order for your port forwarding to work, you have to point it to the IP address of your router.  On the setup page, about the middle of the page, there is a 192.168.1. then a box;  place a value in the box, which will complete the ip for your router's port forwarding.
save it then, try again.  Just did that on mine, I found alot of information on the www.portforward.com web site.

I just lost my iphone5 in a foreign country. Was not able to  previously register it with icloud and have not installed the findmy iphone app. How can i wipe out my data remotely without these setups? Is there any good app i can use to track it? Please help!

No, nothing you can do to track it if you did not take any measures before the loss.

  • How do I recover Icloud password if I don't have access to primary/rescue email and I cannot guess the security questions? (I'm in a foreign country and don't have a phone)

I just lost my phone and I'm in a foreign country. I'm thinking I won't get it back, but I'm trying to log on to icloud.com to use find my iphone app. However for whatever reason the same Apple ID has a different password for itunes and icloud. I have no way of calling apple or retreiving my forgotten password online. What do I do?

Without the proper name and password there is nothing you can do.
Your old passord is needed before you can create a new one.

  • New lync 2013 , 2 subdomains ,ad one domain in foreign country

As you can see in the picture below, I have the main AD called main.prod and two child1 and child2 subdomains. What is more  I have AD called international.prod placed in foreign country.  I have mbox, cas  using child1.main.prod domain and
lync 2010  with UM funcion. The more I have 2way trust  between child2.main.prod subdomain and international.prod domain. Now what I would like to do is : make CAS in subdomain child2.main.prod which is authorising people from domain international.prod
and have mailboxes on mbox from subdomain child1.main.prod as it is shown in the picture. Do you think it make sense? Or I have to make mbox in subdomain child2.main.prod????
WHat else: I would like resign Lync 2010 and  install new  Lync 2013 and make people from subdomains: child1 and child2 and domain international.prod using this new Lync ,and move UM funcionality from old 2010 lync into new 2013.
    Any contraindications, suggestions??

Lync Server supports the following topologies for Exchange UM integration:
Multiple domain (that is, a root domain with one or more child domains). Lync Server, and Microsoft Exchange servers are deployed in different domains from the domain where you create users. Exchange UM servers can be deployed in different
domains from the Lync Server pool they support.

    Hello darkhawk,
Thank you for the recommendation.  I somewhat understand what a MS DOS disk is, but I'm not sure how to go about creating one. I've seen where you can use a program, like Rufus, to create a usb one  - but I'm leery about using 3rd-party programs (especially ones I'm not familiar with). I've come across a couple of 'how-to' tuts, but they didn't clarify what files (if any) I would need to include on the disk (for my particular situation). Right now I don't have any blank cds, nor any extra flash/thumb drives - wish I did, but hadn't needed these for years. There has only been one other time where I needed to re-install Windows, but that was over 15 years ago - I did it through BIOS, reformatting my drives, and then reinstalled via the Windows XP disk. Windows 8 is an entirely different breed, which has left me feeling a bit stumped, at times. If there was a way I could perform it (successfully), similar to the first time I did it years ago, I'd give it a try - but at the same time, I'm a bit reluctant, because if it doesn't work, then I'm stuck without any internet access to get further help.
Ask and ye shall receive. This should be doable in Windows 7 and Windows 8 on another PC. I recommend using a USB Flash drive like in this tutorial, but I'm sure you could use something else.
If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Also very useful for sorting out virus's as long as it's downloaded and made on another PC that is virus free......

  • Returning ipod in a different country?

I was given an Ipod classic as a gift about 2 and a half months ago. At the end of last week, while I was using it, it rebooted itself, loaded as far as the menu screen, and immediately rebooted itself, and has been doing the same thing since then (so, a good couple of days of continually rebooting - its plugged into the mains at the moment). If I run the battery down, as soon as I plug it into a source of power, it does the same thing, and my computer won't recognise it as it doesn't load up for long enough before rebooting.
Anyway, I tried to get an appointment at a Genius bar in London, but there are none available this week it seems. My problem is that on Sunday, I am leaving England to move to the Netherlands, and I'd like my ipod working before I go. Either I could just take it back to the store and get a replacement (I'm assuming I don't have to go through genius to do this, but they may send it off to check it and I may not get it back before I go, plus will lose the engraving on the back I guess, if they give me a straight swap). But the other option is, that I return it in the Netherlands, and ask them to send me a new one there (with engraving on - it's probably a bit silly, but it was a gift and I'd feel a bit of an idiot if I engraved a lovely message to myself!)
So, can you return ipods bought in one country to an apple shop in another country? Or does anyone have any better ideas?
Any advice would be massively helpful!
    Thanks

As the iPod warranty is worldwide, you shouldn't have any problem filling out the service request when in Holland.
I've returned an iPod bought in the USA here in England and got a replacement (although it wasn't engraved).

  • If I've set up my phone in a foreign country and I'm traveling, if I make a purchase on iTunes will I be charged in my country of origin or in the country I'm in

If I've set up my phone in a foreign country and I'm traveling, if I make a purchase on iTunes will I be charged in my country of origin or in the country I'm in

You will be purchasing from the same store as before so yes it will charge as usual in your country currency that you are registered with.

  • Can I use my original iphone 1 in foreign country?

Can I use my original iphone 1 (cost $499) in foreign country?  Thanks.

You can certainly use it.  You would need an international roaming plan.
It is very unlikely that you can use a foreign SIM card.  Almost all, if not all, original iphones are carrier locked.
Depending on in what country you reside, then your carrier may unlock it.  No U.S. carrier provides unlocking at all.

  • How do I download NPR podcasts from a foreign country?

I'm an American living in a foreign country.  When I tried to download NPR's Wait, Wait....I get a message I can't download them because they are not generated from the country I live in.  What do I do?  In the past I have downloaded 4 years of Wait, Wait.....

I'm not convinced that Apple's Store Terms of Use is relevant here, because the Store is simply a directory of Podcasts. The Podcasts themselves are not downloaded "from" the Store, or "from" Apple; they come from the host server chosen by the Podcaster.
    However, there are two possibilities:
The country you are in. Perhaps it restricts the availability of Podcasts.
The Podcaster may have chosen to not make their Podcast available in the particular country you are in.
NPR's Wait Wait is available to the UK, but that does not mean it's available everywhere.
If I read literally, the message you mention; "I can't download them because they are not generated from the country I live in, that suggests to me, that the country you are in has placed a restriction that prevents any Podcasts originating from outside its borders from being downloaded.
You haven't mentioned which country you are in (perhaps for good reason), so for now, we'll leave it for you to decide if this may be the issue. Can you download other Podcasts that originate from outside the country's borders and in particular, any originating from the USA? If you can, then Perhaps it is the Podcaster who has restricted this. It does happen. Marina Orlova's Hot For Words continued to be available to the USA after it stopped being available to us here in the UK.
