Ipod recovery programs

Does anyone know any program that will get all of my music/videos off of my ipod and back onto my computer? I will need a program that does this cause I am about to buy a new one to replace my broken one. thanks if you can help

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
TuneJack Windows Only
iPod2PC Windows Only
iGadget Windows Only
iDump Windows Only
SharePod Windows Only
iRepo Mac and Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows
YamiPod Mac and Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
One last thing, if your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an new empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7.3 or later installed hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes 7.3 Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that way you can continue to use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed above your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod

I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.

oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

  • Is there an effective data recovery program for iPod Touch?

I accidently deleted a video and I've tried a couple different data recovery tools and havne't had any luck.  Has anyone ever been able to use something that like that and if so what did you use?  I'd even be willing to pay a little as it has sentimental value, but I'd like to have a first hand review saying it actually works.

iPod data recovery software support Windows based operation system with all Apple iPod models such as iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Mini, iPod Touch, iPod Mini. iPod Recovery software restore all songs, photos, pictures, images, music & videos files from corrupted, formatted, deleted or inaccessible iPod
    drives.

  • Is there a recovery program to undelete?

    THE STORY:
Basically, I had a lot of music on my computer in iTunes, and it was taking up all the memory. I had to get it off, so I bought the 80G iPod and put all of the music on it, deleting all of the computer's music afterward. Later, I went to put the music back on the computer from the iPod to make some changes with artist info and such. I was able to copy the files back on, but in the process my computer froze (darn Windows!) and basically shut down. I didn't realize that they hadn't completed copying, so I went ahead and restarted the computer and assumed they were all back there. I then hooked my iPod back to the computer, and hadn't yet added the re-copied files into iTunes, but merely left them in a folder on the hard drive. At this point I accidentally synced my iPod to my now empty iTunes. What it did was replace my iPod's files with the nothingness in iTunes--emptying my iPod completely. I was very frustrated because the whole reason I bought an iPod was to keep my music, and now all was lost. Adding the few files that had re-copied gave me back around 500 songs. Restoring the files in recycling bin gave me a new total of about 1600. However, originally I'd had about 4300. I think what happened was when I deleted the files it was too big for recycling bin so it only held a certain amount. Using a demo recovery program, I was able to locate 2700 songs or so which takes me to about what I originally had. However, it being a demo, I couldn't actually restore them. Then I thought, the iPod itself is technically a hard drive, and it would be a lot easier if I could just restore all the data lost from there. And shouldn't it be sort of floating around inside or something?
    THE ACTUAL QUESTION IS:
Can I restore data when the iPod's accidentally erased, or/and is there an undelete or data recovery program available to get my songs back, or are they lost forever?
      Windows XP

There are some data recovery programs on the market. I've no personal experience of them so I can't say how effective they are, here's an example: iPod Data Recovery Buegie - Recovering Songs </a
None of the recovery programs are particularly cheap so you have to decide if in your particular circumstances it's worth it to get your songs back. It may be if you have a lot of purchased tracks which you will have to pay to download again. If they came primarily from your CDs then it's most likely not as you can re-rip them.

  • Data Doctor Ipod recovery software

Has anyone ever used DataDoctor Ipod recovery software.I lost all my itunes which wasnt backed up. I bought the software and it seems to suck. Anyone care to help? The company is in India and has not responded to any of my support questions. Thanks, I am in Iraq and need my music!!!

OK before I start, APple has released iTUnes 7, so if this is what you have these programs may not fully work since iTUnes 7 is new and the third party software makers have not had a chance to update there programs.
Now put the ipod into "Manually update"
Then you can use podutil http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/software/podutil.php or yamipod http://www.yamipod.com to copy the files

  • What's a good file recovery program for a MacBook Pro running IS 10.7.5?

Hey gang - I ordered a miniStack 4TB external hard drive from OWC a few months ago during a long overseas trip. I finally unwrapped it and started dumping data to the drive from the 1TB drives (also from OWC) I used via my MacBook Pro. I connected the 4TB to the laptop with FW800.
I came back from the gym (gone about two hours) and saw a "the drive wasn't disconnected properly..." window. There was a clicking noise coming from the drive, which means mechanical failure.
I went into Disk Utility and the drive is there but it's grayed out. I changed cables to USB 3.0. Unplugged the drive. Shut down the laptop. Then went through the start up and nadda.
So before I run off a disk repair place in town and spend $1000, what's a good hard drive recovery program to use to pull the data? I only dumped 1.5TBs until the 4TB and have other drives to dump that data too if I need to.
    Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Bill.

    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro.  Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.  Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk.  Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service, such as Data Recovery by DriveSavers, which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

  • Apple's iPod recycling program apply to iPhone

My 4th generation iPod finally died on me and I'm thinking of using this as my excuse to replace it with an iPhone. I'm wondering if the iPod recycling program (http://www.apple.com/environment/recycling/), w/ it's 10% rebate on the purchase of a new iPod, might apply to an iPhone purchase...?

The words you quoted in your intial post
"Bring your old iPod to an Apple Retail Store and receive a 10 percent discount on the purchase of a new iPod.* "
sat it all. Turn in an old iPod (except Shuffle) and get a discount on a new iPod.

    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
If the iPod was Disabled, place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
    - Then try on another computer

  • What is a good recovery program

  • DVD data recovery program for Mac?

    h'lo all
I've burned a Memorex DVD+R DL on my old G5. It burned and verified just fine, but it won't mount on my new MacPro (or any longer on the G5). All of the data recovery programs that are specifically for DVD data recovery seem to be PC only.
Does anyone know of a Mac (OS X) program for DVD data recovery?
    thanks

Prosoft Data Rescue II, Subrosasoft Filesalvage, and Boomerang's Boomerang may be able to extract data from the DVD. Make sure the drive in question is capable of reading the DL media burnt at the speed you burnt your disk, and faster. http://www.macsales.com/ has Firewire DVD drives that are among the fastest Mac compatible drives in the market.

  • Is there a FREE IPOD recovery software for Mavericks?

Just wondering if there is a Free IPOD recovery software for Mavericks.
    Thanks

    Yes. Next question please...
    Oh, you wanted details too?
See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
If you mean an iPod classic then Finder and iTunes should be all you need unless you want to grab the playlists and stats too.

  • Need a good free data recovery program

Can anyone suggest a good free data recovery program? I have some deleted images on a camera card that I'm trying to revive.
    Thanks!

If there is any chance of recovery at all your best bet is Prosoft Data Rescue 3 . There is a free trial to see if it can recover what you need. But don't do another process on that drive until you've downloaded and run it.
That means that ideally you should use another bootable drive to download and run Data Rescue. Or booted from another Mac in firewire mode. Also, there is always the option of ordering or going to the store to purchase the DVD. Then running from the optical drive.

  • Why can't I sync my playlists from my Ipod Classic program over to my new Ipod touch?

I'm not able to sync the playlists from my older Ipod Classic program over to my new Ipod Touch. WHen I connect to the program and drag the playlist up to the Ipid Icon they simply disappear and do not sync with the Ipod Touch.

Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Try syncing using the manual method
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
Last, backup the iPod to iTunes and restore from backup
