Ipod reformatting forever. please help!

hi, like many of you I am experiencing problems with my shuffle, but I haven't heard too much of this particular problem. I had just started to use the software... everything was fine. It appeared as if I could copy songs from Itunes to my ipod manually and then at the very end I forgot to "eject" as they say in the instructions. I just pulled the ipod from the usb port and not only did the ipod icon disappear forever from itunes, but I couldn't hear anything from the shuffle when it was on and had not been reset. anyway.. connecting the shuffle back into the usb port did not cause the icon to reappear. windows explorer recognizes the device but not itunes. I have tried reinstalling itunes and that causes the ipod icon to temporarily be present until I disconnect it again. I have followed all the directions and set up an account but as soon as I experienced several errors in "retrying" the installation of the ipod updater or itunes.. I uninstalled EVERYTHING thinking I screwed up somewhere along the way so there was no harm in trying everything again from the installation package cd. Well in installing the ipod software a message appeared saying it needed to restore my ipod. So I plugged it in and clicked okay and then after about 10 minutes it said it needed to be reformatted. I clicked okay again and then ever since the progress bar seems to be going in a loop and its not stopping for about a couple hours now. I've tried this several times too. There doesn't seem to be anyway of my telling if its actually reformatting or not. Could i have caused permanent damage to the shuffle. this is very aggravating. Please somebody help

You cannot use it. You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it. Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

When you say they are displaying in your iTunes library, are you talking about the Audiobooks section of your iTunes library and not the audiobooks section indented under the iPod in the left pane of iTunes under Devices?
Is the iPod Shuffle configured to sync audiobooks or do you manually manage the iPod's contents?

IPOD 120GB problem please help

I have windows vista. My ipod was working up until I had to reformat my hard drive because of virus, ever since my iPod is not downloading any musci and videos from itunes to ipod. Basically my ipod says its syncing but its stops in few seconds....I have authorized this ipod to my computer still not working. Please help fix this problem....

IPod Touch problems :( please help

I have had my iPodTouch for just over a year now. It has always worked perfectly and I have had no problems. Up until now. I plugged it into my origonial computor that i set up my account on and it said there was an error and i needed to restore my ipod off of itunes. I did that and now it refuses to sync any of my music, apps, or movies in my library. It says my computor doesnt have autorization??? I dont know what that means> will somebody please help me. I need this sorted ASAP

IPod Mini Problems Please Help

This is my second post of the type... no one replied to that so im hoping someone could help me.
Problems:
-Wont Update or Load Songs
-It starts loading, gets to around the 5th song (out of well over 600) and says "Ipod Update Complete, OK To Disconnect" though nothing is on the iPod.
-Occasionally wont restore to factory settings.
Okay, before you suggest the five R's, ill note that ive put several MONTHS into this, and ive tried them well over 20 times in order.
Things Tried
-5 R's Repeatedly (as noted above)
-updating on a friends computer (several times with no luck, same problems)
-requested help over the phone
-The number i called was the Apple US Help Line, which the person helped me for about an hour before he said he did not know what was up, and transfered me to the Canadian help line, where they demanded a large sum for help, which i could not pay (under 18).
-When i first noticed the problems, I sent it in (around the end of december)and problems continued upon arrival of the new mini.
I will also note that my sisters iPod Nano works perfectly fine, no problems, as well as my friends iPods adding songs from my computer.
Please please help... im currently resorting to a crappy CD player that skips for my music... and have been... its starting to break me inside.

If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that do not disconnect message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select eject. Another way would be to use the safely remove hardware icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked enable disk use, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after its finished transferring music.
For the iPod to automatically open iTunes, you have to have "open iTunes when this iPod is attached" checked.
Go to edit/preferences/iPod to do this.
If you prefer to keep the iPod set to manual transfer, look at this. In fact, the whole tutorial is a must read.

Ipod not recognized, please help!

I am the recent owner of a 4th generation ipod nano, I also have a 2nd generation Ipod nano which works fine but when I plug in the new Ipod it says USB device not recognized and has malfuctioned. It is also not recognized by Itunes but my other Ipod works fine. I do not have the receipt for the Ipod so I cannot just go in and replace it unfortunately and I don;t think it is the cord because my other Ipod seems to work fine. I have tried updating my itunes and even uninstalled and reinstalled it but the same message pops up. The Ipod is dead and won't charge when connected to the Ipod but the screen turns on and it registers that it is connected. I have read a bunch of responses saying go in to the disk drivers and try and unistall and reinstall it but the Ipod just registers as unknown device and is only there for a few seconds because thats as long as the Ipod is recognized by the computer. Please help before I go crazy!

IPod Nano troubles, please help

I'll try to explain this problem to the best of my ability, this has been an ongoing problem since my sister got her iPod Nano:
Me and my sister both got iPods for Christmas, her a Nano and myself a Video, now this isn't about me, my iPod works with my computer (thankfully), but my sister's Nano does not work with her computer. The only reason she has music is because she hooked it up to mine and got my music (a process so annoying to me it's hard to explain, and no, before it is suggested I am not going to add her music to my computer, add it to my library, hook up her Nano, give her her music, and then undo that whole process afterwards. Also I am going off to college next year and won't be able to do that all the time).
Anyway, so the problem appears to be that Windows does not recognize her Nano. I follow the instructions exactly like I did to use my iPod, I install the newest software (iPod updater and iTunes) and then put music into iTunes and then plug in her Nano, and I get a very strange noise. If you can imagine the two noises commonly heard, two beeps, one low and one high when you plug in a piece of hardware, and one high and one low when you unplug it, think of this noise as three, very quick low beeps. I do not know what this noise means, but it appears to mean "we know you plugged something in, but we don't know what the heck to do." iTunes at this point does not automatically update the iPod, and when I go into iPod Updater, the message is "plug in an iPod to begin" (although one is plugged in).
Originally I thought the problem was with her USB drives, although they are USB 2.0 as recommended. I called an Apple service representative (actually a few, only one giving me anything close to a reason for the problem), and upon checking the Device Manager the representative told me that "VIA" USB controllers are not compatible with the Nano. I did not find this likely, but I accepted it as the reason and she has since gone without an updated music selection in her Nano.
Recently my sister purchased a PCI USB card to put into her computer, which I installed (with difficulty, hard to find the drivers). We again tried to use the Nano with no luck. These new USB controllers are "NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controllers" also 2.0, according to the packaging.
I have since reinstalled iTunes and iPod Updater to their most recent versions and reinstalled the USB ports twice, with no better results. Currently I am at the Device Manager and it shows it "recognizes" the iPod, under "Other Devices" (which has a yellow question mark as the icon) and the iPod tab itself also has a yellow question mark as the icon, but this yellow question mark has a smaller yellow circle with an exclamation point ("!") inside it. I attempted to use the "Add New Hardware" wizard to "install" the iPod, but at the point where it looks for drivers it says it can't find any.
Please help, I would be greatly appreciative of any information concerning:
-My sister's USB ports and if they are the problem
-What the "three beeps" noise means when I plug in the Nano
-Where I can find "drivers" (if they exist) for the Nano so the computer recognizes it
-Any other ideas/suggestions that could be of help

Help syncing my new ipod - error message - please help

Hi I am needing advice and help.
I have a full library full of songs. I had always been able to sync my old ipod with all my library songs.
I have just purchased a new ipod and tried to plug in the new ipod to load all my library songs on to my new ipod, but only a few artists are getting loaded - only artists that start with a & b is going across. I get an error message when trying to sync the songs on to my new ipod.
The message I get 'attempting to copy to disk'new ipod' failed. An unknown error occured(-69)'
I am wondering step by step and in detail how I can make sure that all my songs from the library are on my new ipod. only a few artists are transferring across.
The thing is my old ipod when syncing is fine and all songs go across! no problem at all. I still have to charge the old ipod as its still in use and it is the same ipod that of my new ipod - the 30gb video 5th generation.
It is very fustrating as I have given my partner the other ipod so they still have full songs when they plug in to sync and when I plug in to sync I only get a & b only, we both use the same computer, same model ipod, same library and my ipod doesnt sync so i dont know why?
Please please help. I really need very detailed and step by step instructions of how to sync the new ipod and make sure all the songs of my library are on my new ipod.

Major iPod Problems! Please help!

Recently, my iPod was running very slugish. The videos would skip and take a very long time to load, and then sometimes my menus would freeze or seem to take longer than expected to change. My friend told me that I should reset it by pressing the Menu button and Select button because that should stop the sluggish movement. I did so and when the iPod turned back on, I was prompted with a folder(!) and: apple.com/support/ipod
It seems now that my iPod is stuck in disk mode. I have tried restoring my iPod to factory settings and still nothing because it is stuck in Disk Mode. Whenever I try to run iTunes, it won't find it because the iPod seems to freeze windows and nothing moves (sometimes the start bar will) and all of my running applications freeze as well. The moment I unplug my iPod, all of the applications unfreeze and work properly.

I got a problem with my itunes/ipod, I believe it's my ipod.
My Itunes freezes when i connect my ipod to my computer (windows 7 Professional, latest version of itunes),
it started when i've connected my ipod to itunes and I just plugged it out when it was syncronizing.
after that my whole content (music, pic's, video's) are deleted. The default stuff is the only thing what's left on it.
And now every time I connnect my ipod classic my itunes freezes. I've installed itunes on my new computer but it keeps doing nothing..
I've tried the support pages from apple but I just can't fix this problem, please help.
