Ipod refuses to charge after battery lost all power

I have a 2nd generation 4g ipod nano & up until now it was working totally fine. it holds a charge well and can last for a while. however I kept forgetting to charge it yesterday and today the battery went dead.
on the screen it says "No batter power remains. Please connect iPod to power." so I did, and the message won't go away. i tried both my computer and one of those little ipod speaker clock things. the screen won't light up (well it hasn't done that in a while anyway) and the message won't go away, and it won't charge. when plugged into the computer, the computer doesnt recognize that its there. it was working absolutely fine a few minutes ago when it still had charge, so whats wrong ?

I would make sure the battery is completely dead, then try to plug into the wall with an AC adapter. If it still doesn't do anything, you may need a new battery. One place that does out-of-warranty iPod battery replacement by Apple-certified technicians is iResQ.com

    - You can redownload yur apps at no additional cost.  See:
How to redownload purchased apps from the App Store
    - You only get one download of music and it is up to you to make a backup.  However, sometimes if you explain what happens the iTunes store may allow a redownload of music.  You can contact them by starting here and selecting the appropriate topic:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • HT201263 I would like retrieve all my data from my IPhone 4S after I lost all my data! Please help! ? Thank You.

I would like retrieve all my data from my IPhone 4S after I lost all my data due constant Apple logo on! After I restored this phone I lost all my contacts, text messages, pictures, videos..!!! The question I have is if I never backed up to iCloud and iTunes is there any way I can retrieve all my data that was before restoring this iPhone 4S. Please help! ? I greatly appreciated !!!

If you never synced your phone to your computer and your contacts were not synced to iCloud or another cloud-based service, everything is gone. You will have to start fro scratch.

  • How much time ipod needs to restore after plugging with external power?

how much time ipod needs to restore after plugging with external power?

Restore? Do you mean power on after it's been drained for awhile? It depends how long it's been dead. Sometimes it can take awhile (10-20 minutes maybe more) in some cases.

    Hi Brennahunt,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone is not recognized by iTunes for Windows, try these troubleshooting steps first:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
If the steps in the article above do not solve the issue, completely remove and reinstall iTunes using the method in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
This process should not affect any music or content on your computer, but you may want to
back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive.
When reinstalling iTunes (step 3 in the article above), be sure that you are logged in to your computer as an Administrator:
Make sure you have an administrator account.
To install iTunes or QuickTime, you need to log in as an administrator on the computer. If you're not sure you have an administrator account, you may find this Microsoft article helpful: Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You can refer to the Help documentation from Microsoft, contact your IT department, or visitsupport.microsoft.com for more information.

  • IPod disconnects & stops charging after syncing even though battery is low

I have a 5G 30GB iPod video, both the iPod and iTunes have the latest software updates, I've only had it a month and haven't changed any of the settings.
When I connect iPod to my computer (a laptop, running Windows 2000), iTunes starts up and begins syncing with iPod as normal. However, if there isn't anything new to sync across, iPod will disconnect itself within 20 seconds or so and stop charging, even though the battery is still nearly empty. I don't think its a power to the USB hub problem as some laptops seem to have, as whilst its syncing it recharges fine, and a long sync period will see it fully charged - I just don't do those very often. Surely there must be a way to get it to recharge through the USB cable when its not syncing?
PS - I've tried the Apple support article on switching on the power to the USB hub, but my 'power' tab on the USB settings didn't have a 'keep the power on all the time' button, suggesting its always on anyway?
    Thanks, Chris

    Any suggestions at all?

  • HT1435 ipod classic wont charge after i dropped it yesterday

i dropped my ipod classic yesterday on cement n it still worked i put it on the charger overnight n now it wont turn on its been sayoin "please wait battery very low" for like 6 hours n it hasnt charged or turned on at all. Any suggestions?

    Hey zerrodactyl,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1476
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • I had to restore my ipod touch and now I have lost all my games.  Is there a way to get them back?

I had to restore my ipod touch when doing an update and now I have lost all my games.  Is there a way to get them back?

    Restore from backup
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My ipod doesn´t charge the battery with ios6, what should i do?

I have updated the system to ios 6, but after that change I have noted that my ipod doesn´t charge the battety, I have checked the cable with other ipod (ios5) and it´s working, also when I connect it to my computer, it can´t be detected, what should i do? I can´t find how to solve it.. please help me

    See the not-charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

  • I hooked my ipod to a different computer and lost all my music files. Any way of getting them back?

Hey, I haven't had a computer for a few months so I hooked up to another computer to get updates and while syncing on itunes I lost all of my music files. I can't find them on the computer or ipod. Anybody know if I can get them back?

If the music was loaded from CDs then unfortunately not, unless you have access to the old computer or the CDs themselves.
If the music was purchased from iTunes and your iPod is running the current version of the software then you can go into the iTunes app on the iPod and there is a purchased section where you can re-download music you have already purchased at no cost.

  • I-trigue lost all power

I lost all my power to my i-trigue 2.1 3300.
I took the board out of the subwoofer and the fuse is good. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary except a cap that looked like it had a blueish black "puddling" by it. I suspect it has gone bad, but am obviously no expert.
It is the biggest cap on the board. Can someone give me some guidance on if it's bad and direct me where to find a replacement board? Thank you for your time.

I have had a similar problem and have replaced leaky capacitors and checked all the resistors in the board but am still having no joy - the main semiconductor/FET? device does have a number of heat marks around the soldering so i am wondering if that has fried? Can anyone give any suggestions on what to check or where i can find a circuit diagram?.... Thanks

  • BT Homehub2 lost all power, but we are stuck abroa...

Hi this is my first post.
I have had a Homehub 2 since last January with no problems.
Unfortunately just before we flew abroad over 2 weeks ago, all power light went out on the hub. We had to leave but asked a neighbour to check this out. No luck really. We didn't get the voltage etc on the power cable  so couldn't even order this for our return home to see if that was the problem.
As our contract was for 18 months, I guess we are still under warranty with our Homehub but for speed we were going to buy another from eBay, but again weren't sure of the Model no.
However since we don't really know what is at fault we will have to wait until we return home. unfortunately delayed because of volcanic ash activity.
just looking for any advice really.
    thanks in advance

no need to buy one. If you call BT then they will send you a new one...

  • My ipod mini won't turn on at all after battery lost power....

I've had it for about three years, but i haven't been using it very often in the past year.I've been charging it every so often in the past few months, and it's been in pretty good working condition. However, I was unable to charge it two days ago, resulting in the warning sign of the battery losing power after I turned it on yesterday. In the night, I plugged it into my adapter, but no response at all showed up; not even a sign to say it was charging/still low on power. I tried the reset option, plugging it out and back in, but the screen was still blank. This morning, still nothing, and I don't have access to my own pc until later on (to try to connect it there)...suggestions, anyone? I'm at a loss here, besides the possibility that it might be time to replace the battery...

I still didn't find the "Answer" and "Solution" that are listed for this question, but I did go through most of the "5Rs" - and now it's working!!!! (I think!) - anyway - it woke up and it's charging. I did have to try Reset and Retry (repeatedly), then Restart my computer - and update a bunch of stuff I thought I'd already updated, and also update iTunes. I weas set to go to Reinstall (even though so far the iPod appeared to be invisible to my computer). While I was checking the iTunes Help link on how to select my (invisible) iPod - all of a sudden it woke up!!!!
So, Angel - thank you for inspiring me to keep trying - and maybe when you get to your computer, it will work out? I sure hope so!
