Ipod Restarts by itself
My ipod is restarting by itself for no reson. I tryed to resort my ipod but it did not work at all.
What should i do?
I have been having the same problem... AND I HAVE IDENTIFIED THE SIMILARITY IN ALL OF MY PROBLEMATIC MP3'S...
THEY ARE ALL ENCODED IN MONO
I do not have any other type of file besides MP3's on my IPOD, and as of yet, I have not had this restarting problem with ANY of my files EXCEPT for EVERY ONE of them that is in MONO (as opposed to stereo).
When I have some time I will try to RE-encode these songs in Stereo, and reload them into my Ipod to see what will happen. But I'm going on vacation for a week and will not be able to do this for over a week. If anyone out there has the time, please try this and let us know how it works out.
For the time being, I am removing EVERY file that is encoded in Mono from my Ipod, and hopefully this problem will disappear.

my ipod touch get restart by itself, and just get stuck with the apple logo, What can i do?
Try connecting it to your iTunes library in recovery mode using the instructions in this Apple support document.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
Otherwise, try connecting in DFU mode.

IPod restarts every time I click the center button
Every time I click the center button to go into the music folder, my iPod restarts, so I can't get into those files. It sometimes happens when going in to the extras folder as well. What do I do?!
Do you have any podcasts on your ipod?
My nano has a very strange problem with resetting too, whenever I transfer a podcast to the ipod, listen to them using the 'Podcasts' folder itunes makes in the ipod's music folder(not playlists, but in the root music menu, before playlists), then delete just the podcast itself instead of the whole podcast folder, then I try going back into the music menu on the ipod, it restarts every time.
Only fix I've been able to come up with is just creating a new playlist for just podcasts, and putting my podcasts in that playlist and deleting the 'Podcasts' folder that itunes creates everytime I transfer a podcast to the ipod. -
I think my ipod crapped on itself...what can I do??
Ok... so... I turned on my iPod this morning, and when the menu popped up, it showed that there was no music on my ipod at all. I tried resetting, but there was still nothing. I plugged it into my computer, and did the update 2006.1.10 (which I have learned was a big mistake...). Ok..., so I selected a few songs, and pulled them over and dropped them into the ipod thing so they would transfer. In the middle of the transfer, iTunes froze. It wouldn't close, even after I opened the task manager to "end task". Then my computer restarted, by itself. My iPod was still trying to transfer, so said "do not disconnect". Anyway, now, when I turn on my iPod I get the apple symbol followed by the folder with the exclamation point. When I plug my iPod in, it automatically goes to the do not disconnect screen, and it does not appear in My Computer, or in iTunes. I tried to restore, but the iPod updaters freeze after I plug in the ipod. "initializing" is where it freezes.
Is there anything I can do??well i wouldnt have reccomended that but ok.

IPod restarts when trying to play certain songs
My ipod has been acting crazy on and off now for a long time. Usually if I let it die and sit a day before recharging it it works again, but now I am having a new problem. When I play some songs my ipod just restarts itself, and I mean restarts. The Apple logo comes up and it starts over like I had never had it on. I still have all my music and all, but it like coming out of hibernation.
I guess best put, my ipod restarts after certain songs.

My Iphone 4 suddenly blackout and restart by itself. After that it reach the restore screen. Tried to do restore but it come out Error (9). Anyone can help?
I tried to restore in normal mode and DFU mode, both of it still give me error (9).
I tried using other cable and computer but it still the same.
Anyone out there having the same issue that can share?
Is this a hardware or software issue? My warranty already over and have to solve this problem by myself.
Please help.Did you check your security software settings?
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.

Hi all,
So the short of it is that my work iMac (bought new with 3 others), every so often, shuts down by itself and then restarts by itself as well with a message saying something along the lines of 'you have shut down your computer because of a problem'. It's like someone pulled the plug, no warning no nothing, just goes black and restarts. This happens as an alternative for then it crashes/freezes with the screen on and i have to force shutdown via power button.
I haven't been able to pin point reasons because there doesn't seem to be any particular trigger. Maybe when I'm using Adobe Creative Suite applications, but then again as a graphic designer, thats what Im always using, and Chrome (with, admitedly, more tabs open than average).
The tech guy has taken it in and supposedly ran some tests but came back with nothing to report, nothing happened with him. His latest theory is maybe a problem with the power supply, like a peak surge or something... I don't know, haven't tested with a surge protector yet. But done the usual permissions repair and disk repair etc and still nothing.
The other 2 iMacs, same specs, have never had these problems.
Searched online and haven't found any solutions and reports to my particular case. So I've decided to turn to this community for any help.
Below are the specs and an example crash report.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider. You may have to leave the machine there for several days.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.

I have an iphone 3GS and I have upgraded it to iOS 6. Since then it doesn't work properly.
Every now and then it has been restarting by itself and requiring restore. When I connect it to itunes it restarts again and again without letting me take any action. Is there any solution?Hey, There are afew things you can try.
- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications
Hope this helps!

Hi all,
I need help with my iphone4s.
When I turn on my iphone4s, the apple logo will show for a few seconds, and it will suddenly fade off to a blank screen, and not start up. It will then restart by itself, and the cycle repeats. Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot this problem?
What seems to be the problem here?
thanks and regards

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

IPod Classic wiped itself & is no longer recognised in iTunes
iPod Classic, 80GB, from Dec 2007.
Plugged iPod in to laptop as normal (Acer Aspire 7730ZG, using WIN7 Ultimate at the time) & tried to add an album. Process froze & iPod would not update. It would not respond within iTunes, so I manually ejected via Windows. Upon ejection, the iPod reset itself & wiped all content & settings.
Since then, the iPod is not recognised by iTunes & is inaccessible. The iPod is recognised as a device in Windows, but I cannot format it or run any diagnostics via Properties. Each time I eject the iPod it resets itself as well.
I have tried various solutions that have previously been posted, but no luck so far. iPod can be put in Disk Mode, but just sits at 'Do not disconnect' (again, is recognised by Windows as a removable device).
iPod diagnostics gives me the following:
Retracts: 201
Reallocs: 4
Pending Sectors: 6
PowerOn Hours: 1007
Start/Stops: 167
Temp: Current 31c
Temp: Min 12c
Temp: Max 47c
Any advice/help is much appreciated!Hmm. I was having problems with one of my iPods recently that in the past I've fixed by simply wiping the hard drive. The DFU restore worked quickly for me once I was told about it but prior to that I had reformatted the drive using EaseUS Partition Master Home Edition (Free). Perhaps that had some useful effects after all. It may also be a good idea to disable any real-time anti-virus products while you do the update in case they are interfering with the process.

IPod restarts when syncing music
My iPod restarts when its in the middle of syncing music. Sometimes it just restarts and other times it says the required folder cannot be found. Can anyone help me?
Plug your iPod into your computer and once iTunes open go to the iPod preference plane on the source list. There is the option to restore your iPod. Restoring means to erase your iPod completely and reinstall a new software on it. So if you have any files in your iPod that you don't have on your computer, back them up before you do the restoring. Otherwise, proceed with the restore (You need internet connection to do the restore). You should be fine after restoring it.

After Stopping it and Restarting and it is still not reconizing your device Then start uninstalling
Start with: Itunes, Quicktime, Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device.

How do I stop my iPod from turning itself on and off??
My button on my IPod has been broken for a while now but that's fine. But just recently my iPod started turning itself on and off as if I'm pressing the lock button. This problem is VERY annoying. If anyone knows how to fix this PLEASE help.
Do you have a case on it that covers the power button?
If not, the power button stuck down. -

i have tried all of these troubleshooting techniques, have taken it to an apple shop and had my ipod restarted and wiped but still no luck, is there software that can reunite my ipod with my laptop?
What do you mean by "reunite". Are you experiencing connectivity issues between your iPod Nano and your iTunes on your PC? If yes, in what do these issues consist? Are there any error messages you are being returned?
