IPod restarts when trying to listen to a podcast

I have been downloading the "This American Life" podcasts each week. It seems that each week when I download the latest episode, when I go to listen to it on the iPod as soon as I select it my iPod restarts. After removing and adding it back numerous times sometimes I am able to get it to play, but not always.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way around it?

This is a known bug, Apple's working on it. For now, there are a couple workarounds. You can turn off the EQ on your iPod, start the podcast in itunes for a second or two, and then pause it and sync your iPod, or you can convert the podcast to a different file format (the hardest option). One of these should work for you.

Just recently, when I try to play the ESPN Fantasy Focus podcast my iPod will reset. I have seen other posts on here talking about a problem with a specific version of the iPod software but they all seem to refer to version 1.2 and I have 1.3 installed.

My ipod is doing the same thing. It's an older iPod Video, 30gb and it's updated to version 1.3. Just recently started happening where any podcast I play resets my ipod. I've restored, hard reset, and done all the other various work arounds that i've found online, and nothing is helping.

IPod restarts when trying to play certain songs

My ipod has been acting crazy on and off now for a long time. Usually if I let it die and sit a day before recharging it it works again, but now I am having a new problem. When I play some songs my ipod just restarts itself, and I mean restarts. The Apple logo comes up and it starts over like I had never had it on. I still have all my music and all, but it like coming out of hibernation.
I guess best put, my ipod restarts after certain songs.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
If you have been through ALL of the troubleshooting steps and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for investigation.

IPod restarts when trying to play Vortex

I recently bought the game Vortex for my 5G iPod. I installed iTunes 7 and updated the firmware 1.2. I played the games about 5 times. Now when I go to play the game it starts up then about 5 seconds later it either freezes completely or restarts the iPod. Any suggestions. I'm hoping not to restore because I need my muusic at work and don't feel like putting all the songs back on it.

Figured it out. Resynced without games on then synced with them on. Seems to be working fine.

You assumed correctly, and it should continue to play the rest of the album in order. Does this happen to all your albums. Have you tried restarting the tv.

IPod restarts when syncing music

My iPod restarts when its in the middle of syncing music. Sometimes it just restarts and other times it says the required folder cannot be found. Can anyone help me?

Plug your iPod into your computer and once iTunes open go to the iPod preference plane on the source list. There is the option to restore your iPod. Restoring means to erase your iPod completely and reinstall a new software on it. So if you have any files in your iPod that you don't have on your computer, back them up before you do the restoring. Otherwise, proceed with the restore (You need internet connection to do the restore). You should be fine after restoring it.

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

The only things I've done differently are I started using VoiceOver Utility and Pocket Cloud.

I am using CS2 and the latest version 3.7 of Adobe camera raw. I can however open raw images in preview. Please help! OS ver. 10.4.9 2.16ghz intel duo core processor.

ebooks is a term for (mainly) textual books that can be read on screen. If you're listening then I think you mean audiobooks. See audiobooks on iPods. Either reorganize as single files or access via a playlist.

I tried to use an external hard drive from my windows computer that was formatted in NTFS Windows format. Mac Pro sees that hard drive as "read only". Itunes works on existing media on the hard drive to play music or movies, but when you try to purchase from itunes store and download you get the above message. You need to move your library to a library that is formatted in exFAT format (which can be used both by "windows" and mac computers.
