IPod restore shows wrong memory size

I just did a restore on my 2Gig Nano and the 6-28-06 updater says after the restore that I have 1.5GB avail.
Where did the other 500MB go? The OS cant be that big...can it?
(the ipod is empty. I have not installed any 3rd party plugins or used iTunes to upload my songs yet.)
When I open Windows Explorer and add all the files for the OS and etc. items it comes to a total of 52k of used space. Windows also sees the drive as 1.5gig total. but its a 2gig nano
Update - When I first bought the nano and used the update software it was 1.9GB avail. I sent it in because of the battery issues and ever since I cant fit the same amount of songs on it.
The orig playlist I had in the beginning no longer fits on the ipod anymore.
Could it be a failed memory module?

Well keep in mind that a 2G iPod is probably really only 1.86GB of real storage space to begin with, so rather than 500MB of lost space, you are probably really only looking at 360MB. I have no idea if the iPod FW uses up that much or not. Maybe someone with a "2G" Nano can verify what their space equals up to and if it also is 1.5 then that must be the right free space.

IPOD shows wrong memory usage

I'm just in the process of uploading all my CD's to my new 60G iPod. With the first couple of CD's the memory display in the iPod and the iTunes (v4.7 & v5.0) showed the same correct but now the iPod (v1.2) is still saying it has 5226 titles and 55.7GB overall space and still 53.8GB of free space where the iTunes 5.0 says also 5226 titles but (the correct) 21.51GB used. It seems that the iPod has more than 20GB of music but have no clue about the free space left. Any clue how to get this synced again without restoring the whole iPod?

this is like mine but im thinking the only way to go is a restore =(

ITunes stated wrong memory size

I have a 512MB iPod Shuffle and when I connect it to remove and fill with songs, iTunes states there is 10.25 GB of memory on my iPod?! It doesn't make any sense. I have disconnected and restored my iPod and still the same issue.

Which version of iTunes are U using? Did U download the last updates?
Then, just to be sure, did U try to restore it another time and then when U check on the Ipod is it clear?

IPhone shows wrong memory usage

I had to completely erase all data from my iPhone 4. When syncing the first time about 800 songs out of 950 synced, then I got a "not enough memory" warning. In Settings/General/Usage, it said I was using over 6GB of memory even though the songs and couple of apps I have only added up to 4.2 GB (with the difference being flagged as "Other" in the iTunes memory bar).
Another contributor had luck with going to /Usage, doing a side-swipe on /Usage/Music and erasing data there, so I tried that. It seemed to work the first time, except then it only synced the 150 missing songs. It still won't let me sync the rest of the songs, giving me the "not enough memory" error every time.
I then deselected syncing music in iTunes to try to clear the phone off in order to re-sync. Now my iPhone Usage looks like this:
And now the dubious "Other" category has returned in iTunes:
What else can I do? I've already reset and restored my phone twice already.

Update to the update: the last (and largest) playlist got to within 50 songs then canceled with the same *#^$ message. The "Other" category grew from a couple of tens of MB to 1.36 GB, and now the rest of my music won't fit.
What is ridiculous is that the exact same playlists fit on my iPod Touch and my last iPhone 3, which had the same amount of memory. It's not system data, because it wasn't even present before I started trying to sync my music.
Stumped and frustrated by all this.

in iphoto, an AVI from my camera is shown as being 1:04 long and 76 MB. but playing the file shows it is 9 seconds long, and Finder shows the file as being 10 MB.
a bit more about this file: I shot the video with my still camera and imported it. on the camera, I then edited it down from 1:04 to 0:09, and reimported it. both files were in my iphoto library before upgrading to iphoto '08; iphoto saw they had different lengths and did not consider them duplicates.
now, I see only one file with the time of 1:04 (the original length) and it plays the edited version. while I would prefer to have both versions, as I did before, I would more like to know why iphoto is showing the wrong information for a file the was fine in the previous version of iphoto.

Bridge shows wrong pdf size

I'm browsing a folder of Photoshop pdf documents, with 4000x3000 pixels size but bridge shows 1134x850 size instead of the correct size.
Any idea why ?

Took a quick look but nothing jumped out at me.
Don't remember the exact answer, but it is not really an incorrect size but has something to do with ?? Sorry can't remember. Check the dimension in Wn Exp and see how they compare.

IPod Touch shows wrong time when synched with iCal

I have a new iPod Touch and I have to say that the iCal synch doesn't work correctly. The touch is a French version and whenever i synch the iCal it changes the time into European 24-hour time. My 9 am appointments are shown as being at 21h (9pm). The time is correct on the iCal but I had to use weekly display and drag and drop it to get it that way because entering the hours numerically didn't work.
I remember too well giving up on iCal years ago for these adorable little quirks. Anybody have a solution? Thanks.

Just a follow up on this questions (which by the way no one answered). The iPod eventually corrected the time display. It happened a few hours after the first synchronization.

MSI Twin Frozr 7970 3gb OC showing weird memory?

Hi there, just wondering if this is a common issue, but in things like the Blizzard System Spec Beta program, and the Benchmark test for Final Fantasy 14, it shows that my video card is 2765mb, but it's a 3gb card.. not too sure what's going on here. In Catalyst Control Centre, it shows it as 3072mb.

since Catalyst shows correct memory size is fine.
you can check it with GPU-Z and others

Ipod playlists in wrong order, in itunes they show correct (by rating), copy to play order doesnt work

Trying to set the ipod correctly since new updates and the song order is wrong, in itunes is correct as i intended it by rating, but on the ipod shows wrong, tried deleting playlist, full restore, copy to play order and manual upload, all to no avail. im loosing the will to live frankly.

only in the play lists in the ipod, no criteria seem to work. when i hit artist or songs it appears as it always did alphabetically, do u not see them likewise?

App to show app file sizes in flash memory?

Is there an app in the store that shows the file sizes of all apps I've downloaded? I can't find one, but I'm often blind. As I run out of space, I'd like to delete big apps that I don't care much about any more, but I don't know which are big. Thanks!

You don't need an app to do this. With your ipod connected in iTunes, the app pane will also show the size of the app right next to the name.

IPod Not Showing in iTunes - Already Tried FAQ and Restoration

Hi,
I'm having trouble updating my iPod mini. When connected to the computer, the "Do not connect" screen still flashes, and ipod shows up in the "Safely Remore Hardware" screen. It just doesn't show up in iTunes.
I already went online to the support pages and have found the article on this, but everything there didn't work (including reistalling iTunes, deleting the bin folder, the stuff with ipodservice.exe, etc.) I also have just come back from the Apple store that just tried to restore the iPod. The ipod DID show up in the assistant's laptop's itunes. Why isn't it showing up in my itunes at home?
This only started happening about a week ago. It worked fine before that, and I didn't make any noticable changes since then.
If you have any ides, I'd appreciate it.

OK, here's an update. I got it to work, sort of. Firstly i completely uninstalled both ipod updater and itunes and resarted the computer then i reinstalled them and restarted the computer. Then I restored my ipod again for the umpteenth time. I had done all of these things multiple times, but here's the catch, When i plugged it back into the wall after the restore i left it there until it was fully charged and I mean fully. Then i plugged it into the computer.
The computer immediately recognized, itunes took some finagling, i had to end ipodservice.exe in task manager, did run ipodservice.exe, the instructions are on this site under itunes doesn't recognize ipod but windows does. SO i got it to work i was jumping for joy as itunes was copying all my songs back on to my ipod, then it suddenly stopped. Said update complete even though it had only copied about 25% of my songs. and i couldn't get the ipod to respond. I had to finally after ejecting it in itunes and trying to manually stop it and neither getting rid of the do no disconnect on my ipod, i had to "gasp" just pull it out. But the songs were on there and i plugged it back into the wall.
This morning i plugged it in again and it worked again, but the moment it became halfway discharged it would freeze and my computer won't charge it.

My 4G iPod model no is A1367 and the software version is 4.2.1, so as it’s a very old version i wanted to update the software to iOS 6.1.6, so I have taken backup, then Update my device with iOS 6.1.6 after that I tried to restore my device, it started to downloaded (847.8 mb) iOS 6.1.6 again and again and iPod screen showing only USB cable to be connect to iTunes. please tell me how should i resolve it.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
