IPod restored, but now wont put my songs/videos back on

I was walking the other day, when I tripped. I was holding my iPod and it fell out of my hands and slammed onto the sidewalk. It was scrached but working, so i thought it was fine. So, when I got home, I plugged my iPod into the computer. It charged, and when i tried to play music again, i found that my ipod had lost all of its memory. I plugged it in again and my computer said i needed to restore it, so I did. Then, when I tried to put the songs on again, it got to about 85, and froze. So i disconnected it and tried again. The same thing happened. I let it rest. The next day I tried again and it got to only 10 songs and froze. But i am able to play the songs on my iPod, but I have 1000 and only 85 are on the iPod. I think my hard drive may have been messed up, but I dont know. Does anyone have any advice on my problem?

I believe that you're probably correct if the iPod hit a concrete sidewalk. You might have had a prayer if your were on an asphalt driveway.
In any event, you might wish to try this sequence before you give up.

Ipod restore problem, now wont turn on

I have an ipod video 30 gb.
Yesterday, i plugged it into my Powermac,
but when i accidentally unplugged it while it said "do not disconnect", it froze.
I had to hold the center button and menu to reset it, but now when i try and turn it on,
it will go to the apple screen for a second, then shut off.
It will keep going to the apple screen and shutting off until the battery runs out.
I have tried to restore it, but now it wont show up in the computer.
I have tried everything, and if anyone has any suggestions other than to restore, please let me know.

I restored/updated an old vers. ipod,but iTunes wont lemme transfer songs

i have a 20 MB old version clickwheel ipod
i restored it and updated it..
and all the songs on it erased (which is okay)
but now i have new songs (not from iTunes)
and iTunes won't let me transfer them to the ipod
the songs are in the correct format...

- Did you restore from a backup that contained the photos?
- The backup only contains photos in the iPod's Camera Roll album. It does not included photos synced to the iPod.
- All you can do is try restoring from backup again.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

This is the correct behavior. When you play a song, the play count and last played time gets updated. When you resync the iPod, the track gets copied to the iPod to update these new changed fields.
There is no fix for this, this is what it is supposed to do.

It sounds like your battery may be worn out (they don't last forever) or maybe your power adapter is faulty? Have you tried charging it using another adapter or by plugging it into a computer's USB port instead?
You said your iPhone was not good with battery life before this, it's a pity you didn't find out why this was before the battery failed (if that's what's happened), it may have been a particular app or whatever. Why won't it let you sync? What happens when you try to sync it? Any error messages from iTunes? How is your iPod configured to sync music from your iTunes library? In other words, what options do you have selected from under the iPod's Music tab in iTunes? To access this tab, plug your iPod in, select it under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes, and over to the right locate and select the Music tab along the top.
Or are you trying to manually manage your iPod's contents? In other words, is the Manually manage music and videos option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab?

When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.

Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.

The iPad is telling you it has entered the recovery mode - you need to follow the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 for connecting to a computer running iTunes by way of the recovery mode.
