IPod restored, won't go past "Connect to iTunes"

After attempting to update my software yesterday, I was told my iPod needed to be restored. Fine, whatever, it's happened before, it ticked me off but the stuff from my iTunes wasn't deleted so I figured I can just re-upload everything. On the iPod I go through the questions, country, language, etc., when it gets to the page asking if I want to set it up as a new iPod, restore from the Cloud, or restore from iTunes. I pick "restore from iTunes". I plug it in to the computer, and I see that it's loading everything - pictures, apps, etc. Great. When it's all done loading (without the iPod becoming unplugged), however, nothing happens. The iPod doesn't do anything. No new page, no prompt, no home page, nothing. This is made worse by the fact that my home button is broken; before the iPod was restored, I used the on-screen home button to get to the home page. But there's no options page now, because it won't let me get past "Connect to iTunes". Now that everything has been loading, nothing happens when I re-connect the iPod to iTunes. How do I get past this?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it say place in recovery mode use one of these programs instead of the buttons
For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
If necessary:
Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
For MAC or PC
  The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod Touch won't recharge or connect to Itunes

    Hi - first post here.
I used my ipod touch with no problems on Monday night to upload music. I went to connect to Itunes yesterday and it didnt connect or does the ipod touch recharge when I connect it to my Bose docking station.
I tried my girlfriends ipod and it worked fine so not an issue with the lead or with the docking station.
Can anyone recommend any action I ought to take before sending it off for repair?
    Regards

Something changed in the pin assignment of the connector.
I can charge my I-Touch on a JBL On time dock station only if i plug the I-TOUCH cable from a USB port to the JBL system. Otherwise i'm getting the ''won't charge'' error.
So basically, when i plug the USB to JBL system, then the power comes to the right pin on the docking station, then the I-Touch can be charge.
I think , APPLE "forgot" to include an adapter to comply with such modification. This looks to me as something intentional - to sell further hardware . Either to sell a new generation of docking stations, or to sell adapters at a big price.
Further more (and on a side subject) , i'm seeing post about paying for a firmware upgrade on the IPOD. This is a new tendancy from all the ''mini'' electronic system vendors. They're saying we guaranteed the hardware, but not the software in it. Well bad news for Apples and all those vendors, when i buy a component, i buy a package containing hardware and software. If you needed to do upgrade(s) to the firmware to fix the original software, this is the same thing as changing the hardware to fix the failing element. So it should fit under the warrenty - even if you wrote the opposite.
I can see the same vendor's behavior with GPS systems where the systems were sold with outdated maps, and now you have to pay big money to get the updated maps in them.
By the way... What's that forum for ??? Is Apple reading it at all, or just a place to put our frustration. Seems to me nobody up there care for us. One other thing... Apple is currently blocking Flash media apps to work on their product - If Sun was able to get Microsoft out of the Java business, the same thing could happen to Apple if they persist that way.

  • IPod Nano Won't Boot Past Apple Logo...

    Sup all?
...Got an interesting problem here. Replaced an LCD in a Nano for a friend, installation went smooth & without problems (or so I thought). After installation was complete, I put the Nano back together & started loadin' & playin music on the Nano. About 2 days later, I decided to update it w/the new iPod Updater (can't remember the date). Now the iPod Nano won't boot past the Apple Logo. I can tell that the "menu" has been loaded 'cuz you can hear the clickin' sound when you operate the wheel.
I've tried reformatting the iPod Nano (quick & full) & then trying to restore it, but it won't boot past the logo (after successful restoration?). Now I'm going to run the battery dead & then try to restore it again.
    Any suggestions/comments on this?

The solution I see in your case is to go back and download an older iPod Updater.
See this link -> iPod Updaters
I suggest taking either the January 2006 iPod Updater, or March 2006 iPod Updater.
IMHO, Some of these freezing issues occur because of a fault in the latest iPod Updater.
I suggest going back to March (or January), and the nano could possibly work again for you.

You must restore it, losing anything you have failed to backup or store on your computer or cloud service.

My ipod touch screen froze on a blank white page and won't let me connect to itunes what to do?

It works for many users. In some cases the white screen is due to a hardware problem and there is nothing that one can do short of getting someonet to know what they are doing and take the iPod apart andmaybe fix the hardware problem.

Use iTunes to update it. Download the latest version and install it. Once it is plugged in, it will ask if you want to update your iPhone to iOS 7. If that does not work then click restore.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
