Ipod says another ipod user is using the software
I am trying to charge/import, but the message says another user is using the ipod software. I am the only ipod in my home that even uses the software. How can it be confused? What can I do?
try the following:
Close iTunes.
Open the Task Manager.
Select the Processes tab.
Find "iPodService.exe" and click it, then click the End Process button to close it.
Do the same for "iTunesHelper.exe".
Close the Task Manager.
Start iTunes

It means another computer, router, phone, etc. likely has a static ip address that is within the scope of your computer's DHCP assigned address or your computer has a statically assigned address that is being assigned by your DHCP server to another device on your network.
Or, a neighbor has connected to your network with a device with a static ip address that is within the scope of your DHCP assigned addresses.
Or, you are having a DHCP server issue. Try rebooting all your devices. -

just goto the ipod preferences and select manually update music then you can plug it into any computer which is the same type and the original. e.g. windows or mac

So I plug it into the computer and itunes says it needs to restore, so I click restore, everything seems to go fine, and it says the ipod needs to restart, it does, has a lil progress bar go across the ipod screen, then itunes detects the ipod again and says it needs to be restored again. This is an endless loop, anyone have any idea how to solve this problem?Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? I got a new laptop and installed iTunes and plugged in my iPod but it won't get recognized on iTunes or in my computer, the computer says unknown device found and that the software was not successfully installed. my Ipod touch 4th generation facetime has just stopped working it will ring out and then try to connect and each time says connection lost. The Ipod has been reset hardware etc and the software is all update .

iPods are not backups or data transfer tools.
Move the music from the computer where it exists to the computer where you want it.
Then sync the music to the iPod. -

It's probably asking you to verify the security code found on the back of your credit card.

It is possible that you downloaded the Creative Cloud trial of Lightroom. The perpetual license key will not work. Uninstall the version on the second computer, this will not interfere with your catalog, preferences and personal files.

It needs to go through your computer's iTunes library. If all the songs on the iPods are already in your computer's iTunes library, just sync each iPod as desired from your iTunes library.
If the songs on your iPods are not in your iTunes library, the approach here is to first off-load the song files from the iPods to your computer's hard drive. Then, add the song files to your iTunes library, so that it is "consolidated" with ALL of your music.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once you have ALL of your music in one iTunes library on your computer, sync your iPods as desired.
