IPod says no content

Media content from my iPod disappears. Apps are fine and mail is still there, but music and video synced with iTunes is gone. This happens a couple of days after syncing. I can play podcast I have downloaded from my Touch still. I have an iPod Touch 1st gen and it has happened with os3.0, 3.1, 3.1.1.

I have the same issue. Video / music content just disappears. Says "updating library" and then all the content disappears. Bizarre thing is that it still shows in itunes and I can even play it from the ipod touch but not actually on the ipod touch. I have synced / restored but no joy (and it's SO annoying that music / video isn't automatically restored that I have now set up a Playlist called 'ipod content' so I can just copy it when it happens again ... ) It's happened about ten times and on only one occasion did the content 'come back' on its own.
COME ON APPLE ... SORT OUT THIS BUG FROM THE NEW SOFTWARE! I SEE OTHER PEOPLE ON THIS SITE WITH THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO SOLUTION.

  • IPod says "No Content" in music, and suddenly I can only play that content through iTunes on my computer...

    Can anyone help me?
I have been having terrible problems with my i-Pod Touch. I have very slow internet (often only 2 or 3 kb per second) but Apple seems to demand I do countless time-consuming updates. For this reason I haven't been able to update my iPod to iOS5........I have also had the whole run of errors when I connect my iPod to iTunes to update anything. I have had Error 13109, 5826, 1604 and 3194....but all of that hasn't bothered me too much as I manage to transfer music from CDs or computer files (podcasts from non-iTunes sources) and that's all I need.
All of a sudden yesterday, whilst continually giving me the error 13109 message, my iPod said I have no content in the music library. However, when I plug in the iPod to my computer and switch on iTunes I can see those songs are still there, and indeed I can play them. Until this morning I was able to play that content from my iPod through my loudspeakers that have an iPod dock - completely unconnected to my computer.
It just means that I can't play those songs when I am anywhere except connected to my computer - and that's not really the point of having an iPod is it?
Is anyone able to help me?
By the way, I should like to say that I am very new to i-Pods, and I already think it is absurd that a customer should be constantly obliged to update everything, and when things go wrong visit all manner of websites (and Apple Support Communities!) to hunt for solutions, and then spend hours and hours going into the belly of my computer, making changes, downloaded, syncing, re-booting and goodness knows what else to just try to get the product to do what the manufacturer said it would do when I bought it, without telling me anything about all this other hassle. I think it is shocking, or have I just been sold the only lemon in the orchard? I bought it in Mozambique and live in Zimbabwe - and none of these places offer support services.
tks for nay advice or commiseration you may be able to offer.........
    Nick (aged 50, and ignorant).

OK guys...no need to reply....I am resigned to never getting to the bottom of the syncing problem....I just go from 13109 to other error codes, downloading little umbrellas, putting th eipod in DWI mode (or something like that), restoring, getting anew error code, not being able to download updates etc. etc. - so I lost my patience with sitting in front of my computer trying to fix something I paid nearly usd 800 for (in my opinion the manufacturer should make it properly in the first place, or warn you about its faults before you buy)............
I synced my iPod to the computer, lost all my content ans restored only witrh what I had on this computer's iTunes - thus losing the countless CDs and vinyl I had converted to digital on my other ocmputer at home in Mozambique, which my current iTunes says it can't locate.
Am I really the only person who prefers to listen to music instead of spending hours and hours on the computer trying to fix this useless machne?
I wish I had never wasted my money on this thing. I guess it's just inappropriate and too sophisticated for where I live and for my simple needs (wi-fi and music only).
Very big thumbs down from this novice for the iPod Touch and for the iTunes way of doing things in general.......

  • Upgraded to iOS4.02 - now iPod says No Content yet music tranfered to phone

    Hi
I was running iOS4.0 on my 3GS and after synching it found the iPod app would close after a second or two - an issue that's been reported elsewhere.
I decided to restore it, so ended up upgrading to iOS4.02.
After completing the restore and transferring everything back, I find that when I open iPod now, it just states that there is no content, yet there are gigs of music on it.
I have tried restoring a number of times now on 3 different PCs running Vista 32, 64 and XP. I have alse restored from old backups and also set up the phone as new - all with the same result - No Content.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
It was working fine before 4.02 - surely this must be a software bug?
    Thanks
    G.

Try resetting the iPhone with it being disconnected from the computer. Hold down the sleep/wake button and home button until you receive the apple logo and then let go.
This happened to me with photos.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Itunes is saying my music is downloaded but ipod is saying no content

I have purchased several albums on Itunes and it tells me that music has downloaded but my ipod says no content.  I purchased the ipod 2nd hand.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

You play your music in the Music App in iOS 5. See if this helps with the app sounds.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • My ipod says i have no music on it, but when i plug it into itunes, and look under music on my ipod, its all there. NEED HELP ASAP!!!!! all the music came from a computer which i no longer have, so my ipod is the only place where that music is.

This morning, i downloaded about 16 songs to put on my ipod, and i manually dragged them over to my ipod to sync that way (like i always do because the music on my ipod came from a different computer which I no longer have) and on my way to work, i realized my ipod says "no content" under Music. However, when I plug my ipod into itunes and click on the music tab under my ipod name, all of my music is there. What happened and how do i get that music back on my ipod? I need help asap.

You had a glitch and the music files got corrupted. I know of no way to uncorrupt them.
You can try using a computer app like iFunbox
    http://dl.i-funbox.com/
to see if yo can get them from the iPod in a usable file.
Otherwise you will have to re import them to your computer and sync
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Upgraded iPod touch to 6.01 now music says "no content" on screen. Sync takes forever but won't work

Just upgraded to 6.01. Tried to sync music and it took forever and didn't reflect  the changes made in my folders, it also included lots of tracks that were blank. SO I tried syncing again, it took forever and then the iPod said "no content" when I clicked the music. Syncing takes forever (step 4 of 4) and does nothing now.
Restarted, relaunched and tried syncing many times. Not working.

  • After charging ipod says there is not music on ipod even though storgage useage indicated all of the music is still there

I recently charged/synched my 160 GB ipod classic - I may have disconnected it before it was ready.  Now the ipod says there is not music/playlists on the ipod - when I had used up over half the space previously.  I think the music is still on the ipod because it indicated something listed as "other" is taking up the same space the music used to take up.  How do I get the ipod to go back to recognizing the music?

Other is corrupt files, probably caused when you disconnected. Connect the iPod to iTunes and use the Restore button on the Device/Summary pane. This will remove everything and then re-load the iPod with the contents of your Library.
