My ipod screen is blank and doesn't show any display except it does have the lighted backscreen. I have restored to factory settings but no luck. Any suggestions?

you already tried a reset? you PUSHED AND HELD the middle button and the menu button AT THE SAME TIME for 10 seconds? it may take a few trys and works best if hooked to power.

  • My iPod's screen is blank. help please

My iPod's screen is blank. I can still hear the music playing and the clicks and everything though. Occasionally the backlight would turn on by VIA Menu. I've also done the 5 r's at least a million times. Still nothing. Help?

Sounds like you are going to have to send it in for service.

  • IPod screen goes blank and flashes - help!

I recently got this ipod from the Apple store because my previous one broke. They gave me the ipod and right when I plugged it in, the screen turned an offwhite color, made a quiet buzzing sound and flashed. After a week of this it mysteriously started working so I didn't put much thought into it, I was just happy my iPod worked. Then after a month or two, it randomly started doing the same thing. No matter if I plug it in or not, the screen flashes a blank off white page. It's extremely frustrating. Since the Apple store is far away I didn't get to take my ipod in until a few days ago and when they plugged it in, guess what? It worked. The guy said the battery was just low. So I brought my iPod home and when I'm not using it, I have it plugged into my wall charger. This morning, I woke up and the screen was blank again! I don't know what could of caused this. Apple won't fix it so maybe you can help?

It is also possible that your iPod has entered one of its "Sleep" modes. When it hasn't been used in a while, it goes through a couple of stages of this to preserve the battery's charge.
Try pressing the iPod's center button to wake it from sleep.
If this fails, start with a reset of the iPod (hold Menu & center buttons) and work your way through the rest of the 5 R's.

  • Ipod screen is blank and ipod has been fully charged??

My sons iPod has been fully charged but will not turn on and/or screen is blank like it is off.

Have you tried a hard reset to see if that can help your iPod boot up? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  This may take a couple of tries.

  • My ipod screen is blank

On an earlier nano my sceen lights up but it is blank.

You can work through the remaining five 5 R's of troubleshooting.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity.  A third party service will actually replace the damage part for a little less.  Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

  • IPod screen goes blank!

After my iPod got wet, I let it dry for a week, tried most of the five R's (the ones that would be appropriate for an iPod with a screen that wont turn on) and plugged it in to my iHome. It turned on, but (not-yay) after I unplugged it the screen went blank. I mean, I was pushed into the pool! Shouldn't that be covered in the warranty? People have dropped things like a cell phone into water and got a new one back free of charge. I would try sending mine in, but if I have to pay the idiotic diagnostic fee of $100 even if I dont get it fixed forget it!

    Tommy,
See if you can put your iPod into disk mode...
    Putting iPod in Disk Mode
    Then try restoring...
    Restore the iPod
    Also, try letting it charge.
Finally, why should Apple have to pay if your friend broke your iPod by pushing you into the pool? Make him pay for a new iPod.

  • Ipod screen is blank except for Apple symbol.

    Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem with their iPod touch. It recently just decidd to conk out. By conk out I mean it's a black screen with the Apple symbol. I've tried turning it off and turning it on again. But that doesn't work. I even left it off for a couple days but that didn't help either. I had a couple of apps on it...do you think maybe it has a virus? Is there anything I can do myself to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I have never heard of a virus on an unjailbroked iOS device
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod screen goes blank after ios 5 update

I've been having this issue since the ios 5 update, but it seems that sometimes when I use my ipod on my ipad I hit either playlist, artist, or ect and my screen goes all black. A temp fix is powering the ipad off and on agian. I thought that with the release of the update to ios5 would fix it, but I'm still having the issue.

  • Ipod screen is frozen HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is stuck on the last thing i tried to play... when i connect it to my pc it says usb not recognized and the backlight and screen wont change.. this is a first...what do i have to do ?????

    Hey devbob-
It doesn't matter (too much) what type of iPod it is.
All (current) iPod with display models reset pretty much the same way.
If it's an iPod that doesn't have a clickwheel, (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Gen models) it's menu & play instead of menu & select.
If it's a shuffle, you just turn it off, wait 5 seconds, and turn it back on
    Thanks, though

  • Badly cracked iPod screen...Help!

A couple of months ago I dropped my iPod on the cement and it is cracked. Back then it still worked but recently I accidentally scratched a bit of the screen off and now I can hardly use it as the callibration is bad (most things I can't tap.) How much to be repaired?

  • Pearl 8110 Home Screen is Blank/HELP!!

I received my Blackberry Pearl 8110 brand new yesterday. Today, I finished adding my contacts and was trying to categorize them (business, friends, Family etc.) by creating a folder. When I realized the folder would be an additional icon on the home page (I was expecting to be able to add a folder Within the contact icon) I deleted it. Then all of sudden my home page was completely blank.
I have tried to restart by removing the battery, for several hours at a time. I also removed the sim card and the battery. Nothing has worked. I can only access my applications by pretending to make a call, pressing the menu button and selecting switch applications which will then allow me to access the phone, home, message and ptt icons only.
I even upgraded my desktop software and tried to sync to see if that would help but could not complete the sync
I have searched the internet, the forums and high and low and cannot find any solutions that I have not tried. I have no way of accessing any thing else. Absolutely nothing. THIS IS A BRAND NEW PHONE and I HAVE NOT DROPPED IT, WET IT or MISUSED IT IN ANY WAY!!!!
    PLEASE HELP

One options is to load the OS again, or upgrade the OS to the latest:
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8100-series-discussion-pearl/165550-latest-os-8110-4-5-0-152...
But if it is a brand new device? I would simply go exchange it at a local retail store for your carrier.
