Ipod screen not working right

every time i turn my ipod on the screen turns green and has lines runnung across it. It will not display the name of songs or anything but i can still hear them. I've tried restoring it and reseting but nothing is working..

The same thing kept happening to mine. I think i reset mine so many times i really screwed it up. Now it won't even show the lines. it will turn on but the screen is completely white. mine started doing this after i let it sit on my iHome for a while, i wonder if that has anything to do with it.
I hope you find the answer.

  • Please Help. Ipod Screen Not Working

My screen on my ipod does not work any more.
    I have tried restoring/updating it.....everything!!
problem is this is my second due to a faulty battery on the first which apple exchanged free of charge for me so I ma not sure if I am entitled to another ipod or what!!!
If anyone knows how to get the screen working or about 2nd exchanges then please help,
    Thanks,
    Louise x

If you truly have tried resetting/restoring, then it's time for service. Is it still under warranty, because if so, it won't matter that you have had one exchange already?

  • Help, my iPod's not working right.

Help. I unfortunately downloaded iOS 6.0 to my iPod touch and now it's not working right. I can't listen to anything in the itunes store and a song I tried to download doesn't work on my iPod, yet it works on my computer. Is there anyway to go back to the old OS system I had before this one? Is this happening to anyone else? What can I do?

    You are very welcome!
It would seem that the problem was that you were not logged into your iTunes account on your device, and logging in fixed it.
That is great! You did well in your troubleshooting. I'm glad you got it fixed. Sometimes, just messing around with it, trying to figure it out helps.
As for updating, it would be good to do as I suggested, but I don't know what Apple's next update will hold for our devices. Whether it will fix only some, or all of the problems. So I would say that keeping an eye out, maybe on this forum, for results of the next update, whether or not it helped others, and how much it fixed. It may even take a few more updates for it to come back around to working as it should. Once your device doesn't seem to be full of errors and bugs, (and maybe the Apple forums are full of positive reviews) then you can stop updating. I'm not saying that updates are always bad, it is hard to tell. So if your comfortable with how your device is working, then you can choose to ignore future updates, it's your choice. I don't know when the updates are coming out either, so we are all riding it and seeing how it will turn out.

  • Ipod screen not working

Ipod was purchased last May/12 and the touch screen all of  sudden is not working. Can we  get this fixed through our 1 year warranty?

Try the basics from the manual.  Restart, reset, restore.
If this fails then make an appointment at the genius bar.  if it is defective and in the warranty period then they will replace.

  • IPod screen not working / turning itself on and on by itself

Yesterday I took my iPod outside as normal and tried to use the touchscreen to play music. It did not react when my fingers touched the screen. The buttons on the top and the bottom were working normally, but when I could not for example use my fingers to unlock the iPod as it did not react.
About an hour later I could manage to move the 'unlock' button half way across the screen but the top half and the bottom right do not react to my fingers. This morning it keeps doing the same, but now it keeps turning itself on and off and music occasionally plays by itself and the only way I can stop it is resetting it.
Any ideas what I can do?

A corrupted program or a program that is not compatable with your device is doing this. To fix:
To fix this what we need to do is hard reset your device. The instructions to do that is here http://www.palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?ID=887 this tells you how to do all types of resets. Also, what we need to do is rename your backup folder. What this folder is, it hold all your programs from the last time you synced your PC. On your computer go here My Computer--> C drive --> Program files --> Palm/PalmOne--> your hotsync user name --> and right click on your backup folder and rename it to "backup.old" Resync your device to the same user name and you will get all your contacts, calendar, tasks, and memos.
You can install the programs again but make sure they are compatible with the device. Also try one program again and wait 24 hours to see if the same thing happens again. This way you know what program is causing the issue.

  • Saving for iPod did not work right

I brought some videos into iMovie and saved them for iPod and when viewing them on the iPod it appears that the beginning part of the video was not included and neither was sound. Any idea why it may have done this?
    Thanks.

These were video files that I downloaded from somewhere a long time ago. I created a new project and just dragged them into the window. After it was in the timeline I saved it.
    Thanks!

  • Is there any way to redownload iOS 5 my iPod touch 4 th generation white 32 gig is not working right?

My iPod is not working right. It's slow and lags and just doesn't work and always exits apps. I was if there was any way to redownload ios5 because it does the same things after I've reset about 4 times. Please help! It's even lagging why I am typing this. The thing that I checked below are all of the things that are not working on my iPod.

You cannot reinstall iOS without doing a restore. But you might first try a software update. If you have iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1, you can update to iOS 5.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

  • Replaced iPod screen myself, screen not working. Will i be eligible to get a screen   LCD repair from Apple ?

I dropped my ipod by accident and i decided to repair the ipod myself by buying a screen off eBay. I replaced the the screen and everything was working when i tested the iPod before screwing the backplate back on. When i closed the iPod, it had a white screen when i power up. I held the power and home button for 30 second and nothing happens. The power button still powers the screen on and home, and when i hold it down it powers off the iPod.Replaced iPod screen myself, screen not working. Since updating to 706 the sound on my ipad2 is not working right--on videos or music. There is distortion and some kind of interference at all times. Any ideas?

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke?
If "No," first try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.
