IPod Screen Unresponsive After Reset

My iPod Touch (1st gen) has become unresponsive screen after reseting. I'm getting the Apple logo accompanied with a loading (wheel) symbol. What should i do....any suggestions, please?

Glad you got it working. Troubleshooting these units is not very hard. It's basically a process of elimination.

Ok, when I go into my Apple ID account, everything looks right.  It does show my user name.  It's only on the iPod that it shows my husband's previous user name, and it asks for his password.  Everything in iTunes and my account looks right.  The issue only seems to be with the actual device, iPod Touch 4th gen.
There is more than one way to access the Apps Store and the iTunes store.  One is via iTunes on your computer, and the other is via the apps on your iPod.
Just because you are logged in on your computer does not mean you are logged in on your iPod.
The reason your husband's user name comes up is because he was the last one to log on.  You can change that by going to Settings>Store.  Tap the Apple ID, Tap Sign Out, Tap Sign In, Tap Use Existing Appel ID, enter your e-mail address and Apple ID password, and tap OK.

  • Touch Screen unresponsive after iOS 8 update

My 1 year old 64GB iPhone 5 touch screen started to become unresponsive after iOS 8 update
It's not consistent. Touch screen functionality will seize whilst phone is being used for either answering calls, typing messges, surfing, gaming etc and won't become responsive until it is turned off and on again (via power button). Home button is functioning with no problems.
As the phone is now out of its warranty period I want to verify if it's the OS that's causing this or do I actually have a hardware issue.

I have the same issue. iPhone 5, 1 year-old, not even a scratch.
Sometimes my touch screen works, sometimes not. When it works, it is just for some seconds, then some phantom touches start to happen all over the screen, but specially, when i'm typing, it types z or m, when I try to type something in, and it receives it, it will act as z or m again....
If I switch off my screen and switch on again... sometimes it will work, sometimes it wont... veeery unstable.
I considered downgrading to 7.1.2 but since I heard it is ilegal I decided to wait for a new iOS release.... any suggestions? (already wiped it and the issue continued...)
Is it really not recommended to downgrade it and have my phone funcionalities back?

  • IPod Touch stuck after reset

I've got an iPod Touch 32Gb 3rd Gen, I tried updating it to iOS 4.3 (it was on 4.1) So everytime it gave me an error while Backing up my iPod (the step before extracting) So i thought, if i reset the iTouch from the Settings, it won't try to Backup. So from the Settings Menu on the iPod, I reset it ( full hard reset, media included )
Now after the reset, the iPod refuses to start up, just keeps showing the Apple logo (with a loading circle sign on it).
Tried putting it into Restore mode, but it keeps going back to the same screen.

I was having the exact same problem with my Ipod touch, finally I figured out the problem after having tried all of those troubleshooting links, 1st I went into the start menu then right clicked on My Computer, then clicked manage. Then once I got into computer management I clicked on Device Manager, and at the bottom of the page I clicked the on Universal Serial Bus Controllers, it should say apple Mobil device right underneath, once you get there leave this page open. Open up itunes, connect ipod then hold the on/off switch and home button until itunes asks you to restore your ipod. Click restore, and it may say also say update and restore if so click on it. Then while it tries to restore your ipod click back on computer management and keep an eye on the apple mobil device USB port, you should get a warning that pops up next to the mobil device port, if you do double click on the apple mobil device and click reinstall.
Sorry this is so long and drawn out I hope that it helps.

  • Ipod touch froze after reset

Hi. Does anyone knows how I can get the ipod touch to work after it was resetted. It does nothing but show the Apple icon and won't do anything else.

Got a new 4g 32GB for Xmas. Trouble since day 1. I'm not one who loads all kinds of apps, just a few games, music, and movies. I don't sync email, or surf the web(much). Really don't use it much at all. I've restored this thing 4 times since receiving it. It just locks up, I reset, and it goes to the original setup screen (you know, the one with the picture of the usb plug...). Each time I've had to reload all my music, etc. Real pain in the rear.
Last night I was on the plane watching a movie (which I had to stop and restart about every ten minutes because the video froze while sound remained, or vice versa) and it powers off, restarts, then presents a screen that says there are no video files on the device, even though I had been watching a movie (in small pieces) for 45 minutes.
The POS is now connected to my PC, frozen on the apple logo screen; can't power it off, if I reset it comes back to the same state; it'll restart itself occasionally with the same result.
Am I the only one experiencing this type of behavior, or did I just get a defective device? Software is all up to date...thinking of making a trip back to Best Buy...

  • Iphone 3GS white screen, still after reset. I DIDNT GET IT WET?

I hit a dirt jump on my bmx bike with my phone in my pocket and fell. Not to hard but i guess hard enough to make the screen turn white ;[. So after googling the issue i found out i should try to reset it. After restating the phone several times the white screen still stayed there. It sometimes had faint Rainbow vertical lines. I can still use my phone because it vibrates and rings when i call it. The touch screen still works to. But the ***** screen is white. So i was thinking if i replaced it with a new digitizer and lcd screen *http://cgi.ebay.com/iPhone-3Gs-full-LCD-digitizer-screen-replacement-/2507962423 17?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a649ef58d* it might work. Am i right? If i drop 50 bucks on this and its still broken im gonna be ***** pist.
The lcd screen doesn't seem broken, when i disassembled the phone there wasn't any obvious tears or scratches.

how would you recondmend selling it for parts? And do you honestly think its worth a try buying that item i linked in my first post? i can get a gold back housing and gold metal trim thing for cheap. Would those new aditions make it sell for more and if so would i get profit over the money i spent in parts?

  • Screen unresponsive after holding phone to face during call

Since buying my first iPhone 4 early in 2011, and on every one of the three subsequent replacements to the 4 and both the original and replacement 4s, I have had this problem:
    1) Buy phone
    2) Build from scratch (do not restore from older image...build fresh)
    3) Put no apps on the phone...clean
    4) Run 3g and wifi (though I've tested this with wifi off)
    5) Take call (or place call)
    6) Stay on call with phone to ear (this problem does not occur when on speaker or using earbuds or bluetooth unit...note...for tesing, mainly did not have bluetooth enabled)
    7) One in 5 calls, after sufficient time with ear pressed to faceplate on call (typically 5 minutes), the screen becomes non-responsive.  Specifically:  1) pull phone from face; 2) screen lights up (suggesting this is not a sensor problem); 3) touch screen to either end call, add call, or if another call has come in (and this is the really annoying part when you are trying to conduct business on the phone) hold call and answer...any button...no responsiveness.  I notice that the buttons will sometimes show the depress animation, but that's it.  No application response...frozen, stuck on call. The only way to get out is for the caller to hang up or by depressing the top button on the phone...at which point the phone application says, "Call ending" in a flashing message.
As I said, this has happened on every single one of FIVE units (three replacements of the 4 and both the original and the genius bar replacement of the 4s).
Note:  I was in the genius bar here in San Francisco, and actually demonstrated this problem to the genius.  He said, "Yeah, I see it...totally happening...never heard of this before.  Only thing I can do is replace your phone."  After five wasteful replacement activities, I'm starting to think that maybe this isn't a hardware problem and that replacing the phone isn't the problem.
(Note- happened on both iOS5 and previous versions dating back to February.)
    Frustrating.

I've had this happen twice today, and the first time it happened I was in an app, not on the phone at all!
However, I was listening to music with my headphones when friends came by. I pulled the headphones out of the jack to pause my music, talked to my friends, and when I went back to my iPhone, it was totally unresponsive to all buttons and screen touch. I did plug my headphones back in, and for some reason the music was turning on and off with the pause button on the headphones.
Later, I got a call from my mom. Oddly, I had pulled it out of the case for this call and was talking to her. She hung up, and my phone went totally unresponsive like earlier. After a minute or two, it did come back.
I've had the iPhone only since last night; I am not happy about this random unresponsive behavior! I do use the phone for work purposes, so not having access to it at all times is a real problem.

  • Right margin (1/2") of iPod screen unresponsive to touch-Fix?

the right margin (about 1/2" inch) of my iPod 4th gen doesn't respond to touch. Anyone know why - anyone suggest a fix? Already tried a "restore" - it didn't work. However, for a brief while yesterday it was responsive. Now it's not again.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Airport express unresponsive after reset no light showing

I'd had intermittent wireless service yesterday & had none this morning. The light on my express was orange & I followed advice to unplug express for several minutes, push reset button while plugging it back in. When I plugged it back in the light was green, then solid orange now no light is on. Airport utility cannot find express when it scans. What can I try now?

When I put my cursor on the wireless icon in menu bar it still looks for networks & updates list of networks around me. Wouldn't that suggest airport is functioning?
Yes, this would indicate that the built-in AirPort wireless adapter in your Mac mini is functioning properly. Also, if in the list of networks, the one for your AirPort Express shows up would indicate that the base station was also broadcasting a wireless network. A bit of confusion that Apple has introduced is that the term AirPort is used by both the base station (router) and the built-in wireless adapter ... at least until OS X Lion became available and that "Wi-Fi" is now used instead of AirPort for the wireless adapter.
Also when I look in system preferences under network it says Ethernet is not connected. If it's connected between express & my comcast box Should it show green under network?
The "Ethernet" connector within System Preferences is referring to the built-in Ethernet port on your Mac mini ... not the Ethernet connection between the Express and the Comcast modem. I am assuming that you have your mini connected to the Express by wireless, and thus, the AirPort connector should be at the top of the network connections list within System Preferences, followed by "Built-in Ethernet." In this configuration, the mini would only attempt to gain network/Internet access via its wireless adapter.

  • I got my ipod screen fixed a while back and it still wont turn on. Is there anyway to fix it?

I got my ipod screen fixed after someone dropped it. Now it wont turn and last time i checked wouldnt even charge. Is there any way to fix it or am i out 200 bucks

If they opened it and fixed it you will not be able to do an out-of-warranty replacement at an Apple Store, but you could make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and ask them. Or get the person who dropped it to buy you a new one.

  • Question Mark in a triangle and sad face on ipod screen

    My ipod is not working.
Its shows a Question Mark in a triangle and sad face on ipod screen when i reset it
    Help!

When you have this problem, you'll want to restore your iPod to factory settings, and see if that fixes your problem.
For information on restoring, see this article about it:
Restoring your iPod to factory settings
If restoring doesn't help the problem, or you are having troubles with restoring, I would suggest that you see Mitch's post on the sad iPod icon, which covers a lot of things to try:

my ipod touchscreen is unresponsive after my sister got ahold of it. is there somethin i can do to jumpstart the screen or is it ******.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

Hello. Today, I was updating my iPod Touch 4th Generation to iOS 6. I unplugged the iPod when it was during the installation because it appeared to be frozen. Now the iPod is stuck at a light blue screen even after I reset it. How do I fix it?

You will need to do a DFU restore by holding the home and power buttons down (while the device is plugged in to your computer) until the device's screen goes black and as soon as the screen goes black, count down from 3 and release the power/sleep button, but keep holding down the home button. Then, iTunes will say the iPod needs to be restored. The restore process will take some time and even though the iPod may appear to be frozen, don't interrupt the restore.

my ipod touch 4th gen isnt work after a long time with 0 percent battery power. Then its not working. computer doesnt respond to my ipod .only black screen is appearing it even not wake up after reset it what can i do please help me

After being connected to a charging source overnight try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
