Ipod Self-destruct mode.

Please correct me if I’m wrong :
Isn’t Ipod’s supposed to be portable devices?
Doesn’t that include taking advantage of the Ipod probably everywhere?
Why Apple reduced the original 4th gen’s volume? To fit into pockets they said.
Well all of these are Bul….t, have you ever tried to put your fifth gen ipod into your jeans pocket? When you get it out you barely recognise it!!!! FULL of scratches.
Even when you are using the supplied cover, the scratching generation processes still goes on…
Come on people are not stupid Apple… we know why you did that… money.. $£ , CASES, polishing clothes, shine giving materials , we are talking a lot o money here.
An don’t tell me that.. the materials which the ipods are made are so sensitive…come on See laptops, palmtops , mobile phones.. Have you ever seen any one SO sensitive?
Fact : Apple said we reduced the Ipod’s initial cost… yes you did.. but what is the price??? Cases, accessories? Clothes? Ipod socks pleaseeeee who do you thing you are fooling? We are educated people we know how the world works….
Some one inside apple said leave to protective layer on… HAHAHA is that you call it, I call it plastic junk… I use this to cover my food in the fridge… please I was expecting some thing more clever of you guys….
Anyway I could continue to say more and more… but I thing you get the point… I thing that the new ipods should have an expire date…
And the shelf destruct sequence goes on and on and on and on…
A not so happy customer.

There seems to be a common misunderstanding that iPods have to be connected to "authorized" computers. They do not.
You can use an unlimited number of iPods on an unlimited number of computers. No "authorization" is necessary.

Ive tried holding the Home button and the Lock button for 10 seconds but it goes right back to the restore screen. Plus it won't connect to itunes now so i cant restore it with the computer. • Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode?

Does Premiere Pro support a "self-record" mode? It would record a new video with the source being what you are previewing, in terms of "animation" rather than in terms of the quality seen on screen. I often like to make humorous effects by dragging the time indicator back and forth, and have to resort to recording my own screen while in semi-fullscreen mode, then import that video and crop out the chrome. This obviously is not optimal and results in significant quality loss. Does Pr itself have such a feature built in?
I doubt it does, but it would be extremely useful.

Ditto what mark said. The intended purpose of the project manager is basically to do just as you said. It was a great solution for anyone that wanted to store the few usable minutes of their media and were confident in just discarding the rest. The problem is that, as Mark said, it doesn't handle the trimming of all common file types these days. That's because, in video, 'destructive' editing is always a matter of re-exporting edited versions and project manage simply cannot export every format to any format. The original files are never actually being trimmed down, you're just getting new versions to replace the old ones with. This represents another drawback in the form of generational loss. That's why the Project Trimmer many not be the ideal solution for you even if it is able to trim all applicable formats for you.
I tend to agree with Jim and thing that the better way to go is with Prelude. With that app, you can log what you want before hand and then capture (or, more accurately, 'Ingest') just those parts from the start. Still, it might be a good idea to save the original footage on memory card(s), hard drive(s)s (or , dare I say, tape(s_?). That way if you find out later that you didn't capture (or ingest) all of what you wanted, you can always go back and get it. Also you'll have an additional backup which could easily be re-captured from the original source if you've save the prelude project(s).

  • ITunes has detected an iPod in restore mode

I keep getting an error message stating that "iTunes has detected an iPod inn recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." when I connect it to my PC running iTunes 7.0. When I restore it to the factory settings, I still get that same error message.

YES YES YES - it's the infamous drive letter mapping issue! I have seen this several times and helped a few people fix it. In the OLDER versions of iTunes, the behavior was that the iPod simply didn't appear in iTunes. Much less destructive than restoring the iPod only to find that it just keeps popping up with the same message! The BEST way to solve this problem is NOT to unplug/unmap other drives! It is to REASSIGN the drive letter of the iPod to an UNUSED letter. In Windows this is done in the Disk Management utility (right-click My Computer and select Manage from the menu, then go to disk management and right-click on the iPod and assign it a new drive letter!) Windows will REMEMBER the drive letter you assigned so that you can keep all of your mapped drives and other external drives plugged in and all will work TOGETHER! If only the error message in iTunes was a little better. It could say something like, "Your iPod is either in recovery mode, or is sharing a drive letter with another device on your system..." Something like this would help people at least TRY to diagnose the problem before simply restoring the iPod, which, as it turns out, is TOTALLY UNNECESSARY!!

  • ITunes LP: "Before I Self Destruct" by 50 Cent

hey I need help with something. Did anyone get 50 Cent's new album with the itunes lp?My problem is that i went into the package contents of the itunes lp file to take out the 2 movie files to i could put them into the actual movies section of itunes and not in the lp cuz the lp can't be played on my ipod. so my problem is that i moved the files not copied them and renamed them in itunes before i realized i had moved them not copied them. I then copied them and put them in the lp file, but the problem is that i had renamed them, so now when i go to play them in itunes lp, it won't play because its like looking for the file video named something and it can't find it because its renamed.
So, my question is can you tell me the original name of the file for the "before i self destruct" movie in the itunes lp file?
    the file is under: User> Music> iTunes> iTunes Music> 50 Cent> Before I Self Destruct> Before I Self Destruct - iTunes LP.itlp > "Show Package Contents"> Videos
Can you please help me with this. thanks

ok so i just figured it out
step 1 double click on the HD icon go to the "places" section on the left hand side click on "Music".
step 2 your iTunes folder should appear click on it keep scrolling down until you see the "iTunes Music" folder all your 50 music should be in separate folders look for the Before I Self Destruct folder in there should be a folder with all the MP3 songs and one that is entitled (Before I Self Destruct iTunes LP)
step 3 copy that file make sure you put .MP4 at the end of the title once you do that it will automatically break down that file into photos and the original mp4 videos just drag those file into your ipod
    hope this helps.

  • Solution for Windows users who repeatedly get "iPod in Recovery Mode".

If you are repeatedly receiving this message using iTunes 7 on Windows when connecting your Nano (it may be with other models, I can't test that), Windows may be assigning a drive letter that is already in use. This is particularly common for networked computers with mapped drives. For example, when I connected my Nano, I got the message above. No matter how many times I tried to restore it, I received the same message. Turns out, Windows was mapping the Nano to F:, which was already a mapped network drive in Windows. This is NOT a bug with the Nano or iTunes, it could happen to pretty much any removable drive. To fix this:
    - Open Disk Manager (Right click on 'My Computer', select 'Manage', then select 'Disk Management' under 'Storage').
    - Locate your iPod and right click on it. Select 'Change Drive Letter and Paths'.
    - Remove the current drive letter assignment by clicking 'Remove'.
    - Add a new drive letter assignment by selecting 'Add', and choosing an available drive letter that is not currently in use, and is not being used by another removable device.
On my computer, I have several removable drives, as well as several network mapped drives. My USB backup drive is B:, my thumb drive is T:, and now my iPod is I:. I don't know why I didn't think of this solution sooner.
If you need any help, reply here. I'll see what I can do.

I am still getting the same 'ipod in recovery mode' after trying this solution.
on my ipod it says there are 0 songs and 0 photos but there is only 46 MB of memory left out of the 856 available.
I have tried the method a couple of times and tried resetting the ipod many times but the same messages appear.
