Ipod shows a white screen but  it still connects to my computer

Today I was silly enough to drop my Ipod accidentally on the ground (by accident of course) though not very hard, when I turned it back on a white screen shows up. However I can still reset it but it still shows up as a white screen. When I plug the Ipod into my computer Itunes still picks it up and all of my songs & albums show up still. When I take the Ipod out it's still a white screen. I've tried resetting the thing many times but still no luck. What should I Do? Does anyone still think there may be hope restoring this?

  • My iPod has a white screen, but still works

I dropped my iPod, and i resseted it once, and i could hear the clicky noise the touch pad makes. so i mashed buttons and a song came on. It works, but the screens still white. I restored, still white. Tried the Disk Mode, but i can't see a **** thing. Help

    Hello,
It sounds like iPod was damaged when you dropped it. The blank white screen is the most common side effect of damage by dropping. Unfortunately the only solutions are to either have it repaired or buy another one and keep it in a ruggedized case. XtremeMac makes the best ones.

  • TS2771 My iPod shows a white screen.

Usually the manual restart works (holding down the Power and home button) but this isn't working, and I can't do a restore because my iPod isn't detected on iTunes when I plug it in. And I cant put it in DFU because that requires shutting the ipod off and it wont shut off or anything. I don't know what else to do and I cant get to an apple store to have it repaired or anything. and the only time it does this white screen is when im using the facebook app.

    - Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the article again.
    - If still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

when I tried to upgrade to the iOS 6 it stopped and then when I tried to restart it, it turn white and now I can't restart it... it always go back to that white screen.

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Blank, white screen but music still playing! Help!!!!!!!!

I've had my iPod Video (30G) for about 5 months. For some reason, today when I switched it on, the screen lighted up but it was completely white and blank. I clicked some random buttons and music started playing. I waited for the battery to run out, and then recharged it on my PC for a while. When I switched it on, the screen was still blank but music could still be played! I tried resetting it by holding MENU and SELECT but it's still broken.
    HELP!

Maybe try restoring your ipod. Plug in your ipod, go to the updater through the start menu, and then, once it has recognized your computer, click on the restore button.
Caution: this will remove all songs from your iPod, requiring you to re-sync your iPod with your computer.
    hope this helps..

  • IPod Touch 3G white screen after dropping, still works.

I dropped my iPod Touch 3G a few days ago and it fell out of my pocket and hit the ground on its corner. I tried to use it and saw that the entire screen was just white, but it was still functioning. Everything still works but the screen is just white. Would purchasing a new LCD from eBay repair this? Considering they are around 10$ only. Thanks for the help.

It might just be a software issue. Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you might need a screen.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.

  • My iphone 3G has black/blue/white screen but it still works. Any solutions?, My iphone 3G has black/blue/white screen but it still works. Any solutions?

    Hi,
I just took my iphone 3g out of my bag and the screen is broken.
The screen either is blue with white lines along it, or black with white lines along it (it seems to alternate between them).
The iphone still works however, as when turing the silent button it vibrates, along with me tapping the screen when trying to put the password in, it vibrates.
Any solutions? If not does the warranry cover things like this?
Ive tryed resetting it (holding sleep button and home button at the same time) and it just urns off, and when it turns on again, the same problem arrives.
    Thanks,
    Matt.
    p.s
On a unrelated(?) note my iphone thought the head phones were plugged in even though they wernt not long before this happened.

Click the home button 3 times
You might of activated a feature known as Screen Curtains on accident

  • Iphone is showing in import screen, but is not connected

I don't know when this started, but I have recently noticed when I go to the import screen, it shows my iphone and a bunch of pictures/movies that should be importable, but don't actually have anything.  The kicker is, my iphone is not plugged in.  How to I "disconnect" it, so that when I do attach my phone, I can get the actual images.

Try the "Safe Mode" solution mentioned in this post.  I don't remember why it worked -- but it did.
Post back if it does not.

  • HT5548 No apps are showing themselves in launchpad, but are still installed on the computer. Any suggestions?

Not sure how to go about this one!

If this were happening to me I would delete the contents of this folder:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Dock
and then restart the Dock (e.g., by quitting it via Activity Monitor).

  • White screen, but you could get the display via an external monitor.

    Hi,
A few weeks ago, my Macbook pro(A1212) stopped displaying. It only showed a white screen, but you could get the display via an external monitor. A friend looked at it and we discovered a burnt Mosfet (SI3443DV) which was item Q9400 on the motherboard. He went and changed it but it only displayed for less than 5 minutes and it went back to the white screen. would you please advice on what to do since i am not in a financial position to take it for repairs at the apple store?
    Joe

    Forget it.
1: If it was tampered with, then it doesn't qualify for warranty or AppleCare.
2: Repairing it will incur a new expensive logicboard, because that's how they do things. Swap parts out.
3: No money, means no Mac.
Sorry. We don't do hardware repairs here.
