IPod Shuffle Help - Cant open files on ipod (blank screen)

I'm sure it's already been covered here, but I couldn't find anything that helped.
I have a iPod shuffle, and iTunes recognises it but wants to re-format it (not my biggest problem), and Windows only partially recognises it.
In My Computer it is listed as an iPod (E:), but when i open it, which it does, it displays a blank screen. It doesn't recognise any files in it AT ALL. But recognises how much free space i still have on my ipod. I can open my ipod files (Songs) on friends and school computers, just not mine.
It just seems that i'm missing a file of some sort, which is able to read the files on my ipod shuffle, but i just don't no what it could be.
I have tried every available solution, reinstalling iTunes/iPod, with no luck. I also just added service pack 2 for my windows xp pro and thought that would have solved my problem.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried syncing it again? There might be some error during the last sync.. If nothing's wrong, on the left panel, there's your iPod, click on the arrow beside the icon and there's everything..

I need so BIG help
I have been busy for hours on a query in Hyperion and I save the query then it returned a "Error please restart your app"
I did so and now all I get is
"system stack trace unavailable" error and I can't open the file.
I have tried of different versions of BRIO on different PC and it returns this errors "There was a problem reading file"
Is there a repair utilities to repair my file ?

Do you remember what section you were working on when the file broke?
It, has been a while since I have worked in the 8.x tools. Do you have access to Dashboard Builder tools? Merge? Optimizer?
Things I have tried in the past are:
- Merge the broken file into a known good file.
- Use Optimizer to delete out the section you had problems with and save as a new file and see if you can open it

That's not good! We definitely want your device to work properly at all times. What email application are you attempting to open? When did the issue start? Do you receive an error message when the application force closes?

IPC vs. iPod Shuffle, can see music files on my iPod?

I have downloaded iTunes onto my pc, but when I attempt to open my ipod shuffle, I either get rerouted to hte music library on my computer OR the only viewable file is "autorun". I checked my ipod and all the music is on there???

How did s/he copy the music on the external drive? Was the music on his/her pc? If yes the hierarchy may be different for the pc version of iTunes library, or is it that he can't find the files even from the finder?

Just to add to hyphen's reply, FAT32 has a maximum size of 32GB. The user cannot make the partition larger than 32GB should they decide to go down that route.
Another alternative is a utility called TransMac. When installed on a PC, it will allow the PC to recognise a Mac OS formatted drive and read the files within. No need then to worry about all that FAT32 and NTFS malarky stuff. It weighs in at $64 dollars though for a 1-3 user licence:

Cant open itunes when ipod connected

I cant open i tunes when my ipod is connected. as soon as i disconnect it itunes comes up. if i connect my ipod with itunes already running it stops working.
im really starting to loose my patience

Are you sure you actually synced them? I know you said it shows up when your iPod is connected, but I'm not sure if that means it's really there. When your iPod is connected, click on the TV Shows tab in the main window in iTunes. Check your syncing preferences there and make sure the shows are actually getting synced.

IPod shuffle does not play files 100 MB

Could anyone help me out with the following issue please:
After uploading a large mp3 file (>100MB) onto my iPod shuffle (2nd generation, 1GB) - uploading does not give any error messages - the song just does not play when I disconnect my iPod and hit the play button. It automatically continues to the next file in my playlist which is smaller than 100 MB. I reconnected the iPod to my computer and iTunes, and the file is still in the iPod playlist and can be played in iTunes without any problems.
If I upload a file with a size just smaller than 100 MB (I tried 95 MB) I do not experience the problem mentioned above, it will just play the file normally.
Is this a limitation of the iPod shuffle or is something wrong with my iPod shuffle?

It's probably no consolation, but I routinely play audiobooks >100MB on my 2nd Gen shuffle.

Ipod shuffle shows a corrupted file

Hello, mi ipod shuffle shows that it has a corrupted file and needs to restore my ipod with the factory settings, i restore it but when i eject it and plug in it again appears the same message.

I'm having similar problem. Itunes keeps telling me the ipod is corrupted and it needs to be restored. When I restore it and it is reset, iTunes again says it is corrupt. I have other iPod shuffles and they will also report being corrupted. Tried different cables and USB ports too. These other iPod shuffles (not gen 4) work on my laptop (12" G4). So it doesn't seem to be the iPod, but the computer. I've tried reinstalling iTunes 10.1 but it didn't help. I took the 4th gen shuffle to an Apple store and it worked fine at the store. What is going on???

IPOD Shuffle help...

I got me a shuffle a while back, but I noticed that you need to rebuild the databse EVERY time you add music to it.
So rather than using ITUNES that renames them and sticks them in different directories on the shuffle, I found a small python script called rebuild_db.py that scans the shuffle and makes the database for you WITHOUT renaming or moving the music, so you can just have all the music in one folder.
This seemed alot easyer, BUT then I still need to run it before I run umount.
So I though I would throw a small script together:
mount /mnt/ipod
konkorer /mnt/ipod/music (spellings)
python /mnt/ipod/.rebuild_db.py
umount /mnt/ipod
This seemed to do the job, but the first problem was that it takes the Ipod a few seconds to sort itself out before you can mount it, so I had to add:
sleep 4
at the start of the wee script.
Problem number 2 was if I load up another konkorer (spellings) and closed the Ipod one, it didnt carry on till I closed both. And sometimes it seemed to crash the script because it was still mounted after KonK was closed.
To get some debug outa it I added a line to open a xterm displaying 'FINISHED' for 2 seconds after the umount.
So atleast I knew when the script finished.
But if you leave the konk open for a while it seems to just stop the script come going on.
I now just have a icon to the device on desktop that I click then open Konk in the /mnt/ipod/music dir to copy over music, then when finished I click another icon (linked to the rebild_db.py script) then I right click the Ipod icon and umount it.
It seems to work alot better but its abit to long winded.
What im after is a way to get fstab or whatever to run the python script just before every umount of the ipod.
I like using the python script coz its fast, and small.
But overall I wanna plugin my Ipod, find my music I want, right click and 'copy to /mnt/ipod/music' after that it runs the python one, then it umounts it so I can just unplug it and off I go.
It would be nice if I had something that mounts it for a short time only when its being accessed.
Any ideas, or programs for ipods?
I want a quick and easy solid way to stick stuff on it, hastle free.

instead of "hal.storage.serial", if one wants to mount every 2G Shuffle in the world :-) (not just your specific copy) ... but I'm not sure it's the generic product_id for all 2G iPod Shuffle's ....

I own an Ipod nano and an ipod shuffle. Im having an issue with the shuffle. It seems its not registering on my computer which means its not registering on Itunes. My nano is registering on my computer and on Itunes. I want to know how to work this shuffle as ive restored, re-installed and its driving me crazy. PLEASE HELPPPP..

IPod shuffle doesn't open in iTunes??

Hi I have been trying to connect my iPod shuffle to iTunes but it will not recognise it on my computer??????getting frustrated any ideas please!!!!!

I just wanted to add that it does charge and it shows up in Windows Explorer as an additional drive (E).
