IPod Shuffle - ipod unable to download tunes from home computer; dual login

Question

My home computer is my main iPod shuffle source however I installed iTunes software on my work computer as well. I accidentally deleted my songs from my shuffle.
When I went home, it said that I was logged into another machine even though I logged out of iTunes at work.
How do I make sure that my work computer is not seen by my shuffle as the source? Do I need to make sure that my work computer is completely turned off before I leave.
I would appreciate any suggestions?

I'm not sure what logging in and out has to do with
anything, but perhaps that term is simply used
differently in M$-speak.
My own guess as to why you'd now get a non-standard
message on your home machine is that something bad
happened on the work machine; one common cause of bad
things happening is improperly unplugging the iPS,
i.e., doing so with it mounted and updating.
The simple rule is "Never unplug the iPS if the amber
light is blinking". If it is, stop whatever process
it is involved in by using the proper,
non-destructive method and then, with the process
stopped, eject the iPS. This will take it out of
updating/disk mode, the amber light then goes steady,
and it can be removed.
If that's what happened, you'll have to Restore it.
You'll probably have to Restore regardless of what
actually happened, for that matter.
HoW do I restore it?
Do I need to uninstall the work computer version of iTunes?
Also, the message that I received stated that another user named <blank> was logged in and that I need to logout. So, I went to work today and logged off my session.
In the future, should I run two versions on different machines? If I can, how do I configure them so that this does not happen again?
