IPOD Shuffle Just Doesn't work at all

My step daughter has an ipod shuffle, and when you press any button, the amber and green flash alternatively and the thing doesn't work. The computer doesn't even register that it is connected. I have tried other USB ports to no avail. Sometimes the computer recognises it, but states that the device is faulty. I can't therefore reset the thing. What is worng. Can anyone help me???????

What good is a NEW iPod shuffle that doesn't work?!

Has Apple fixed the problem regarding the shuffles not be a recognized driver?
I cannot believe that a company as huge as Apple, has not problem-solved and found an answer for people who purchased it's product.
I feel very frustrated, and my 3 kids -- all waiting for me to get their iPods working, are annoyed.

I trashed mine (iGB Shuffle) after many days spent. My shuffle just stop working one day. I tried everything from Apple website suggested 10 times at least. Still no good. I am an Information System professional. I deal with this kind of problems daily. But we all rely on the manufacturer to provide helps. AFter 90 days, you have to pay to be able to 'chat' online with support. I bought new Toshiba Gigabeat. Cheaper and 'IT WORKS'. So return the products and get your money back buy something else. good Luck!!!

So what happened is it was in the washing machine a couple a days ago and its been completely dry but it wont charge or turn on and itunes does not recognize it so i dont know what to do so help!!

Faulty port on the computer
If something is wrong with your computer's FireWire or USB port, it may not supply power to iPod. Note: Only iPod mini can get power from a high-powered USB port using the supplied cable.
Check the connections.
Try another known-good FireWire (or high-powered USB) port on a different computer if available.
If you do not have access to another computer, use the Apple iPod Power Adapter.
Plug in one end of the FireWire cable to the Apple iPod Power Adapter and the other end to your iPod.
Plug the Apple iPod Power Adapter into a working electrical outlet.
If you have an iPod (with Dock Connector) model, connect the FireWire end to the Apple iPod Power Adapter and the dock connector to iPod. Warning: Never plug the dock connector end of the FireWire cable into a computer's FireWire port.
If this resolves the issue, consult your service and support guide to see how you can have the computer's port repaired.
Faulty Apple iPod Power Adapter
If something is wrong with the Apple iPod Power Adapter, it may not supply power to iPod.
Try another known-good electrical outlet.
Make sure all the connections are good. Try disconnecting and reconnecting all connections to make sure they are snug.
Try another Apple iPod Power Adapter if one is available.
Try connecting iPod to a computer's FireWire port using iPod's FireWire cable.
If this resolves the issue the Apple iPod Power Adapter needs to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at theiPod Service Website.

My iphone's home button doesn't always work. I sometimes have to press it several times to get to my home screen. Many times this doesn't work and I just give up. It is happening more frequently now, almost daily and usually lasts all day when it's having a bad day. I've tried calibrating it and I've also tried a phone reset; neither helped. Any suggestions?

Re-Calibrate it. Press the power button until the slide to turn off shows. DO NOT TURN IT OFF. Leave it on the slide to unlock screen and press the home button for about 30 seconds until the slide to turn off screen leaves.

New ipod shuffle remote doesn't work correctly

I've bought a player today, plugged in to USB port. iTunes proposed me to update to the latest version - I agreed. So I had the lates updates. When I try to increase volume using remote - it doesn't work. When I stop playing by using middle button then try to change volume level it is changed only for one step even if I pressed 20 times.... I think it's BIG bug...

GeForce 7900GS just doesn't work at all..

The nVidia site says that the 7900GS is Mac OS X compatible.. but I have it plugged into my G5.. and well.. sigh
Nada.. and I can't find any drivers to install. Basically the card just doesn't output anything.. so.. blah..

I got suckered by that little piece of false advertising by Nvidia too. The GPU is OS X compatible, but the card manufactures don't make Mac cards. It's due to a 128k file in the ROM chip (64k for PC BIOS, 128K for Mac). Remember, Nvidia doesen't make or sell video cards; they only make the GPU. Anything on Nvidia's site about OS X compatibility is completely meaningless.

Spilled water on my ipod touch, now doesn't work, lost all my information, and now buttons don't preform the correct function...

So somehow water spilled in my backpack and got onto my ipod. I didn't realize this until i got home and plugged my ipod into the computer to see if it would finally turn on. The computer said it couldn't read my ipod and the only thing I could do was restore it. So I lost everything. Since downloading the iOS5.1 software to a 4th Gen ipod Touch Facetime doesn't work for all contacts. Any ideas?

When trying to facetime a contact (which worked prior to update) it says that person is 'unavailable for facetime'. Some contacts work and some don't. Facetime is enabled in settings.
Also can message some people but not others - not necessarily the same people that can't be facetimed.
Anyone experienced similar or got any ideas?

IBooks just doesn't work at all

To sum up:
Removing the iBooks' Library fix the issue until I launch iTunes and I will get this error message everytime I try to open a book (from the iTunes Store or one I dropped in iBooks).

Is there a way to fix an iPod touch 4G home button that isn't stuck but just doesn't work?

The second option of using the charger ended up working, thus making the button work again. It was working fine after doing that but then it got stuck down again and I had to put the charger in and do that again. However, all of a sudden the home button just doesn't work anymore. It's not even stuck all the way down. I can press it repeatedly but still nothing.
I've had the iPod for about 6 months now and got it off of amazon refurbished so warranty is out of the question i'm sure. If it really is broken with no way to fix it then that's fine as i've been using assitive touch for weeks now and am used to it since i've been using it egulary since there's no other way. I just wanted to ask and make sure first before anything else though.

If you just got your new MBP you have phone support from Apple (which is quite good) call them. 800-692-7753 tell the automated answerer "mail technical support" you'll have human quite quickly. Hope this helps.

Did you try a hard reset with the iPod still connected to your PC? Have you tried multiple USB ports, preferably high powered USB 2.0 ports?
To do a hard reset, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Have you also worked through each and every single troubleshooting suggestion in this Apple support document?
