IPOD shuffle Windows XP explorer does NOT see my IPOD

Hi hope someone can explain or help,
I have an IPOD shuffle using the latest ITUNES software. I connect my IPOD to the USB, ITUNES sees it fine & syncs. But in Windows XP, I go to windows explorer, I can't see my IPOD drive why is that?
Can anyone explain why?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Katrina,

I have a DVD drive (D drive) & a CD/DVD RW drive (E Drive) and an external USB drive (G drive) during this screenshot my IPOD is plugged in and seen by ITUNES but it is not shown in explorer as I said.
Thanks for any help,
Steve

  • Windows 8.1 does not see or recognize my cd/dvd player on iMac?

Installed Windows 8.1 with bootcamp on my imac 10.9.1. Windows does not see or recognize my cd/dvd player on iMac? Everything else seems to work fine.
    Any suggestions please?
    Mike

Fixed the DVD problem. Please see below.
Step 1: Launch Command Prompt with administrator rights. To do this, switch to Start screen, type CMD and then simultaneously press Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys to launch elevated prompt. Click Yes for User Account Control prompt. You can also try other methods mentioned in our how to launch a program with admin privileges in Windows 8 guide.
Step 2: In the elevated prompt, paste or type the following command and press enter key:
    reg.exe add “HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0″ /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0×00000001
(You can simply right-click on the prompt and select paste)
Step 3: Exit the Command Prompt, reboot your PC. You should now see the DVD drive in Windows Explorer as well as Device Manager.

  • Encoder 3.1 on Windows 7 64bit does not see video card

    hi
    any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated;
We are running Newtek's VT[5] on a windows machine and have been
very successful running Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1, streaming Live
    to a server.
    Recently we were upgraded from XP and 32bit to Windows 7 and 64bit;
Now the encoder does NOT see the video, although it recognizes both
the VT video device and VT audio device. My understanding is that
Flash Media Live Encoder 3.1 should run on the operating system
and with Newtek VT[5] (even though the VT capture card is not on Adobe's
    official list)
    http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flashmediaencoder/FMLE_DeviceMatrix3.1.pdf
Of course....Adobe wants me to purchase a contract for tier-2 support to answer
the question of whether the encoder will work on our 'new' setup.
    again,
    any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated;

Are you sure that correct and latest device drivers are installed on that machine?
Please check the video device settings. If FMLE is able to detect the device it should get the signal and work with that.

  • BB Link on my Windows 8 PC does not see media on Z10

I am able to connect my Z10 to BB Link on my Window's 8 PC.  The phone’s status shows up as Connected. I can performs a device backup successfully. Yet Link does not see any of the pictures or video’s on the phones internal memory or the media card. I cannot transfer media from the PC to the phone either.
I know that the problem is not with my phone because I can connect to BB Link on my Window’s 7 pc and see and transfer media successfully.
I have tried disabling the firewall, uninstalling and reinstalling BB Link to no avail.

    Hi Marcus25,
Sorry to inform you, the Scanjet 5370c is not supported on Windows 7:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03403550&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en...
The driver listed on the HP site is intended for another model (Scanjet 5590) and seems to be wrongly pposted for your scanner.
I have reported this issue in order to get it corrected..
Altthough it is not officially supported, you may try the 3rd party VueScan application which seems to support your scanner wthout the need to install any drivers on the computer:

  • Windows 7 does not see Time capsule as backup

I've followed a few threads regarding this issue but none of the solutions posted worked for me.  I've installed Windows 7 through bootcamp and installed the drivers correctly (I think) using the usb stick for my MacBook Air.
The problem I'm having is that when I try to setup my Time Capsule as a backup for Windows 7, it does not see it under drives or under network.  But strangely enough, Windows 7 does it see it under my computer as a network drive:  Z:.  I can even access the drive with no problems.
Does anybody have any suggestion as to how I can fix this issue?  I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on the MacBook Air recently refreshed running an i7.  The Time Capsule is on firmware 7.5.2 and AirPort Utility is version 5.5.3

I thought I was going to be able to see TC from my PC after reading this thread, but it seems I still need a pad on he shoulder. Here's what I've tried so far:
    From MAC, Airport Utility, I
    1) Clicked the “Enable File Sharing” checkbox
    2) Set the “AirPort Disk Guest Access” to: Read and Write
    3) Set my PC workgroup as MSHOME, just like on my PC.
My TC's name is "Frank's Time Capsule". In the PC world, I think this translate to "Franks-Time-Capsule"
From PC, I attempted to map the TC as a network drive. Start>Computer Right-Click>Map Network Drive...
    I tried the following combination:
    ://10.0.1.1\Franks-Time-Capsule
    ://10.0.1.1\Franks Time Capsule
No success: "The network path could not be found"
I then changed the name of my TC's drive to "TC" only.
    ://10.0.1.1\TC
Still no success: "The network path could not be found"
    My question, is
What is the exact path for mapping the TC as a network drive?
What are we mapping? The drive name or the TC name?
    Thank you so much....

  • HT1481 bought new shuffle but mac does not see it why not?

bought new shuffle but the mac does not see it in itunes please tell me why?

My battery is not quite flush, but I use mine on soft surfaces (as I'm not supposed to), so I haven't noticed any rocking. Have you tried taking your battery out and trying to get a better fit?

  • HT1477 I am trying to install a new iPod Shuffle and my pc does not pick it up.  My pc is running windows 8.1 os.  I do not see that os in the list of operating systems.

I am trying to install a new iPod Shuffle and my pc does not pick it up.
My operating system is Windows 8.1 and windows 8 does not appear
in the list of operating systems.

You are referring to OFFICE 2010, not Windows XP or 7.
And which version of Windows do you have?
NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there.

Any ideas on why I can't use iTunes with my touchi?  Has anyone hadluck with non apple softyware, seems apple has made a mess of itunes on this version.  I've been throught multiple threads on reinstalling and with tweaks.  I've read the apple device is faulty in this latest version, any news on when this fault will be fixed?  Love to hear from an Apple person on this.  Samsung is looking more and more attractive.

    See:

  • 60gb iPod does not see music files on my external HD

I'm going nuts trying to figure out why my iBook does not see the music files on my external HD.
I have a 250gb external hard drive (that I put together with an enclosure and HD I bought from Tiger Direct). I have the hard drive hooked up to my G3 iBook via Fire Wire. The HD comes up on the desktop, but none of the files are seen. Now, when I take the same HD and hook it up to my Windows PC, all my music is there.
I really don't want to have my iPod hooked up to my PC. My G3 is too small to hold all the music. I need to have the external HD to handle all the music for my iPod.
How do I accomplish this on my G3?
    Thanks!
    iBook G3   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hyphen says:
[The] drive can be formatted as fat32 and be read/written by macs. He could also partition it, one partition as hfs+, the other as fat32. This can be done from disk utility.
The NTFS format (windows) has only read support for OS X.
How did s/he copy the music on the external drive? Was the music on his/her pc? If yes the hierarchy may be different for the pc version of iTunes library, or is it that he can't find the files even from the finder?
    And Red Dwarf adds:
Just to add to hyphen's reply, FAT32 has a maximum size of 32GB. The user cannot make the partition larger than 32GB should they decide to go down that route.
Another alternative is a utility called TransMac. When installed on a PC, it will allow the PC to recognise a Mac OS formatted drive and read the files within. No need then to worry about all that FAT32 and NTFS malarky stuff. It weighs in at $64 dollars though for a 1-3 user licence:

So hopefully, with Kappy's help, too, you will be able to figure it out.
    Good luck.

  • Ipod shuffle 4th gen device does not appear in latest version iTunes

ipod shuffle 4th gen device does not appear in latest version iTunes

Mine is not recognized by PC-Windows, nor Itunes, and not by the "Mass Storage Device" removal Icon.  I've done all the diagnostic tests, Uninstalled Itunes then reinstalling, etc.etc to no avail. Yet never had a problem with old generation Ipod, (died of old age) and Gloria's Ipod after two plus years is going strong with never an issue.  I belive Apple is having significant problems with the 3/8 inch shorter newest Ipod generation.  If your Ipod is still under warranty you need to call Apple support.

  • ITunes does not see shuffle

I purchased an iPod shuffle for my girlfriend. Loaded about 40 songs then repacked and gift wrapped it before giving it to her. She has iTunes on her computer and it is updated. When I hook up her iPod, iTunes indicates it is not authorized so I authorize the ipod but the icon does not appear so it seems that iTunes does not see the shuffle. Please advise.

Shuffles are a bit different, they can only hook up to one PC
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202
I would restore it to factory settings using your PC, then see if her PC will recognize it.
